Crack the E Nigma
Solve every riddle on the island
The description for this achievement is slightly misleading. You must not only solve each of the Riddler’s riddles, but also find all Riddler Trophies, Patient Interview Tapes, Arkham Chronicle Stones and destroy all Chattering Teeth. The task sounds daunting, but it really doesn’t take that long… especailly once you begin finding the Riddler Maps that unveil where everything is located. Surprisingly, none of these items are missable and you can even collect them once you’ve completed the game; although it is best to collect them during your Hard difficulty playthrough as early as possible since each item gives XP that allows you to upgrade your gear and armor.
You will also need to upgrade some of your gadgets in order to access some of the items required to unlock this achievement. As early as possible, ensure that you upgrade your Cryptographic Sequencer with the Distance upgrade; all other gadgets will come at various story intervals. The last one you will get will be after you’ve defeated Poison Ivy (Zipline).
Refer to this guide[www.gamesradar.com] for any items and riddles that you haven’t been able to find or solve.
World’s Greatest Detective
Solve Arkham’s biggest mystery
For this achievement you must scan each of the Arkham Chronicle Stones. Only one will not appear on the Riddler Maps, and it is located in the Security Control Room within the Penitentiary. Refer to the guide listed in Crack the E Nigma in order to find these collectibles.
Challenges
Note** Most challenges are unlocked from collecting Riddler items, so it is best to save these achievements for after you’ve completed the game.
Flawless Freeflow Fighter
Complete one combat challenge without taking damage
The key here is to take your time, and keep your distance. The easiest Challenge to perform this on is Intensive Treatment. You must survive four rounds without taking damage. Evade, counter, and attempt to stay out of the middle of a group of enemies.
Freeflow Bronze
Achieve 8 medals on combat challenges
See Freeflow Gold for further details.
Freeflow Silver
Achieve 16 medals on combat challenges
See Freeflow Gold for further details.
Freeflow Gold
Achieve 24 medals on combat challenges
These challenges can prove to be incredibly difficult, given the fact that you will need to beat a set score in order to obtain the gold medal for each challenge. You’ll need to be proficent in holding a long combo, which means absolutely no button mashing!!! The following videos have good commentary for tips on how to beat each level with more than enough points to net you the three medals.
Invisible Predator
Complete one predator challenge by using only Silent Takedowns and without being detected
For this achievement, you can only use the Silent Takedown option. This means that your best method will be to drop down behind an enemy and crouch, while crouching you will walk up to them from behind and then perform a Silent Takedown when you’re close enough. Make sure to escape to a gargoyle quickly afterwards as the Joker will alert the henchmen to the newly downed foe.
Predator Bronze
Achieve 8 medals on predator challenges
See Predator Gold for further details.
Predator Silver
Achieve 16 medals on predator challenges
See Predator Gold for further details.
Predator Gold
Achieve 24 medals on predator challenges
Generally, these achievements will be easier than the Freeflow ones; but it’s all skill dependant, meaning that you may have just as hard a time with these. The real strategy here is finding the best and fastest way to take down your opponents. Refer to the videos below for additional details.
Misc.
Leave No Man Behind
Rescue the guards and henchman from the Joker toxin in Decontamination
As the story progresses, you will enter a room that fills up with gas. It must be turned off in order to continue onward. However, wait to turn off the gas and rescue both Arkahm guards and save the Joker Henchman.
Party Pooper
Time to break up this party
At the very end of the game, there will be fireworks going off outside, the Joker will invite you to a special party. There will be henchmen outside of the Penitentiary, you will need to KO them before you head through the door with a Joker face painted around it. Once inside, beat up all of the henchmen in the hallway BEFORE proceeding through the double doors and the achievement will unlock.
Freak Show Rodeo
Ride a beast and unleash its power
You will come to a part in the sewers where the Joker will unleash an onslaught of enemies upon you, and eventually a massive Titan. You will need to defeat him by throwing a Batarang at his face and then hitting him once he runs into the wall. He will eventually fall down onto one knee, if you run up to him from behind and press the attack button, you will then be able to climb onto his back.
Catch!
Catch a Batarang (any play mode)
You’ll need to obtain the Remote Controlled Batarang in order to obtain this achievement. Once you’ve done so, go outside on the main map and climb a building; that way you have no obstacles in your way. Throw the Batarang in front of you and make it circle around and come back towards Batman. He will automatically catch it.
Rope-a-dope-a-dope
String up one henchman and drop him to surprise a second (any play mode)
You’ll need to obtain the Inverted Takedown upgrade in order to obtain this achievement. You will need to grapple up to a gargoyle statue and wait for an enemy to pass under you. You will then receive a prompt to perform an Inverted Takedown. Now, grapple to another nearby gargoyle and wait until an enemy is near the one that you just strung up; use your Batarang to cut him down and surprise the others.
Mano-a-mano
Take on a beast in hand to hand combat
For this achievement, you need to beat a Titan without using the Batarang. The best place to obtain this achievement is when you also get Double Trouble. Line up the Titans and repeatedly cause them to run into one another, it will take some time but it so far is the most viable method. If you’ve gone past this point, the achievement can also be obtained in the Challenges.
Night Glider
Glide continuously for over 100m
You will only be able to obtain this acheivement one way. You will need to climb Arkham Mansion, then the clock tower that resides on top. You will then glide off of the clock tower, towards Arkham North, and the achievement will unlock.
Freeflow Combo 5
Complete a combo of 5 moves (any play mode)
Refer to Freeflow Combo 40 for additional details.
Freeflow Combo 10
Complete a combo of 10 moves (any play mode)
Refer to Freeflow Combo 40 for additional details.
Freeflow Combo 20
Complete a combo of 20 moves (any play mode)
Refer to Freeflow Combo 40 for additional details.
Freeflow Combo 40
Complete a combo of 40 moves (any play mode)
Without a doubt one of the more difficult achievements to accomplish. You will need to attack your enemies without being hit or breaking your combo for 40 daunting moves. Most say that the final part of the game where you go to the party is one of the best areas to perform this achievement in, others have gotten it when riding a Titan. It will take patience and practice, or just plain luck.
Freeflow Perfection
Perform a perfect combo including all of Batman’s combat moves (any play mode)
Another irritating achievement that will take some time. You must utilize all of Batman’s moves in one combo; and that means don’t get hit by any enemies. You will need to wait until you’ve completely upgraded Batman in order to perform upgraded moves. A suggested spot to do this achievement is at the party. You will need to include the following moves. The following moves are only useful if you’re using an Xbox controller to play the game, my apologies but I do not know the button prompts for other joysticks or mouse + keyboard.
X – Strike
Y – Counter
B – Stun
A – Tap Twice to Evade
LT – Tap Once for Quick Batarang
RT – Tap Twice for Quick Batclaw
RT+Y – Ground Takedown
A+X – Throw
B+Y – Takedown
Perfect Knight
100% Complete
This will be the last achievement that you obtain. You will need to ensure that you’ve unlocked all 20 upgrades, completed all 240 Riddler collectibles and earned a gold medal on every Challenge. Good luck.
Wrap Up
Good luck in your achievement hunting!
