Overview
This guide details where to get the achievements in Kingdom Rush Frontiers and tips on how to get them.
Introduction
There are a total of 84 achievements in this game, the vast majority of the kind that you should get while completing all the levels. There are a couple of achievements that can be missed but if you do miss any just replay the level at some later stage.
As for the game itself it is a really good tower defense game and I hope that you’ll enjoy getting your 100 % as much as I have.
Miscellaneous
These achievements are not specific to any level; you will get them as you play the game and should have most if not all by the time you finish the campaign.
You should have all of these by level 11-12 at the latest.
First Blood
Kill one enemy
Bloodlust
Kill 500 enemies
Slayer
Kill 2 500 enemies
Terminator
Kill 10 000 enemies
Armageddon
Use Rain of Fire 5 times in a single stage
Might be hard to get in the first couple of levels. 1st and 3rd upgrade for the Rain of Fire reduces the cooldown by 5 seconds each.
Death from above
Kill 100 enemies with meteor showers
Cumulative, you should have this before finishing the campaign assuming you use it every now and then.
Each level usually have 10+ tiles available for towers. Selling and building a new tower on the same place also counts.
Constructor
Build 30 towers
Engineer
Build 100 towers
The Architect
Build 150 towers
Specialist
Build all 8 tower specializations
Available from level 10 and onwards. Just build at least one each of the 8 different tower specialisations.
Land owner
Build on all holders on any given campaign stage
Easier in the later levels since you usually end up with more money than you need towards the final waves.
Home improvement
Upgrade all basic tower types to level 3
Available from level 3 (Sape Oasis) and onwards.
Land manager
Clean debris from 10 holders
Debris are found in the jungle and underground levels.
Divide and conquer
Build a specialist tower of each type on any stage
Available from level 10 (Ma’qwa Urqu) and onwards. SImilar to the Specialist achievement but for this you have to build them all in one level. Easy to get in one of the later levels where you usually end up with more money than you can spend towards the final waves.
Max level for a hero is 10. Depending on if you switched heroes during the campaign you may or may not have all of these by the end of the campaign. If not you should get it while working on the heroic and iron challenges.
Birth of a Hero
Level up any hero
Hero of the Day
Level up any hero to level 5
Legen (wait for it) dary
Level up any hero to max level
GI Joe
Train 1 000 soldiers
This is the same as soldiers respawning when they die.
Cannon fodder
Send 1 000 soldiers to their deaths
Die Hard
Have your soldiers regenerate a total of 50 000 lives
Templars and assassins also count. If you are using a couple of soldier towers as blockers on the levels you should have this by the end of the campaign.
Tactician
Change soldiers’ rally point 200 times
The rally point is set by with flag icon that you’ll see when selecting a soldier tower. If you want to speed this up just keep changing the location of the rally point for the same tower.
Level completion
Genie in a bottle
Defeat Nazeru, the red efreeti
Obtained after defeating the boss of level 6, Nazeru’s Gates
Kongicide
Defeat Quincon, the Jungle King
Obtained after defeating the boss of level 11, Temple of Saqra
You shall not pass!
Defeat the Dark Lord and save the realm!
Obtained after defeating the final boss in level 15, Emberspike Depths
Great defender
Complete all campaign stages
There are a total of 15 stages in the main campaign: 6 in the desert, 5 in the jungle and 4 in the underground. For the Supreme Defender achievement you need to complete these levels in veteran mode.
Iron defender
Complete all iron stages
Requires you to first get 3 stars on the campaign mode of a map to unlock the Iron challenge, same as for Heroic.
Heroic defender
Complete all Heroic stages
Requires you to first get 3 stars on the campaign mode of a map to unlock the Heroic challenge, same as for Iron.
You can get a maximum of 5 stars per level: 3 for the campaign, 1 for the heroic challenge and 1 for the iron challenge. Completing the Great Defender, Heroic Defender and Iron Defender will net you these as well.
Starry
Earn 15 stars
Super Mario
Earn 30 stars
Superstar
Earn 45 stars
Can be done on any level within desert, jungle and underground. Just keep your hero in a safe spot (e.g. in the back) and you’ll be fine.
Sand Warrior
Complete a desert stage without the hero dying
Tarzan Boy
Complete a jungle stage without the hero dying
Caveman
Complete an underground stage without the hero dying
I’d suggest doing Fearless in one of the earlier levels since you’ll have fewer waves and easier enemies. Daring is not cumulative and you have to do that during a single level.
Fearless
Call all waves early in a single mission
Daring
Call 10 waves early
Impatient
Call a wave within 3 seconds of the icon showing up
Desert level specific
These achievements can only be obtained on the desert levels, usually by clicking on a certain location on the map.
Organic Impulse
Make a desert bantah move
The desert bantah are the two brown furry creatures found in the top middle and bottom left of the map. Just click on one of them a couple of times and they’ll move… sort of.
One froggy evening
Find the singing frog
The frog is found above the lake in the top right, he’ll jump out from behind the rock and sit beneath the palm trees for a couple of seconds. Click on him and he’ll do a dance for you.
Mua’dib
Complete stage 4 without losing any soldiers to the sandworm
You’ll both hear and see on the map when the sandworm is about to appear. He’ll always appear under your hero or soldiers so make sure to change their rally points before the worm appears and you should be fine. If you’re having trouble try coming back later when you’ve got more upgrades on your tower and a higher level on the hero.
Stuff ‘o’ maker
Have a genie polymorph 10 enemies
Genies can be purchased for 150 gold each from the hut on the map.
The Black Pearl
Kill 30 enemies with the ship’s cannons
Klicking on the pirates on the campfire will enable you to purchase a cannon salvo at a select location on the map. Do this a couple of times and you should get the achievement.
Splash
Find a mermaid
The mermaid will appear below the ship on the left. Click on her to get the achievement.
Money talks
Hire 10 or more mercenaries
Does not have to be done on specifically this map and does not have to be 10 at the same time however there are plenty of shacks to recruit pirate mercenaries on this map so why not.
Mummy at the gates
Kill a Sandwraith before it summons any Fallen
You need to kill one of these more or less immediately as it enters the map. What I did was that I leveled up Rain of Fire to max, then used it on one of those that came in from the right. The initial damage + burn will kill a Sandwraith in one go if targeted properly. Put a few reinforcements in front of the wraith to keep him in place to make it easier.
This can also be done in the previous level, though there are more of these guys in this level.
Jungle level specific
One *ugly* $%@#
Find all 3 alien hunters
1 of 3. He’s half invisible in the left part of the map. Look for the “X” mark on the road and you’ll find him slightly above to the left.
Twist and shout
Have the spearmaidens perform 50 whirlwinds
The spearmaidens are recruited for 75 gold each from the hut. Get a few other towers for protection before you recruit any of them.
One *ugly* $%@#
Find all 3 alien hunters
2 of 3. He’s half invisible in the right part of the map. From the snapvine in the top right, look slightly to the right and you’ll find him beneath the trees.
Feed me, Seymour
Feed over 50 creatures to the snapvines
Just play the level and you will get it eventually, you don’t have to do anything for the vines to eat enemies.
SOS to the world
Find the secret message
There is a bottle floating down the river. Click on the bottle to get the achievement.
One *ugly* $%@#
Find all 3 alien hunters
3 of 3. He’s half invisible in the top part of the map. Look just to the top left of the weird structure and you’ll find him by the trees.
Colonial marine
Kill 30 parasytes or reapers
Can also be obtained on the later levels but you should be able to kill enough on this level. The parasytes are those headcrab things and the reapers the “grown” version of them. Spawns from the purple eggs.
Save the princess!
Save a captive princess
On several occasions a big savage holding a princess will emerge from a hut and walk towards the volcano. Kill him before he throws her in there, e.g. with Rain of Fire.
The walking dead
Kill 100 tribal zombies
The blood tricksters spawn these. Kill 100 of them to get the achievement. Can also be obtained on the next level.
Dr. Henry Walton
Help Indiana find the secret passage
A couple of waves into the level Indiana will appear to the right of the temple entrance. Click on the symbols below him in the order middle, left, right to open the passage and give you the achievement.
Underground level specific
Is that Wilhelm?
Defeat 10 climbing enemies
During the level enemies will come climbing from the chasm in the bottom left. Kill 10 of them before they reach the top to get the achievement. Can also be done in the later levels.
No level-specific achievement here
Oakenshield
Have a single dwarf soldier heal a total of 500 life
Requires a bit of luck to get. Try to kill the brutes, myrmidons and blazers before they get too close since they can usually one-shot the dwarves. Upgrading their armor etc. and having the healer hero nearby helped me getting the achievement.
No level-specific achievement here except for those you get when you complete the level and campaign.
Tower specific
These achievements are cumulative but requires you building certain upgrades for your towers. I’d suggest leaving these for last as completing the campaign, iron and heroic challenges should give you most of these.
Bolt out the sun
Have the crossbow forts shoot 10 000 arrows
Self-explanatory, does not require any additional upgrade once you build the crossbow forts but I’d suggest getting the Barrage upgrade since that should make it go a little bit faster.
Hawkeye
Apply one Falconer bonus to 4 towers
This achievement has been changed to NOT include the crossbow fort for the achievement to count. I.e. the fort bonus has to cover 4 more towers. Barracks does not count. Due to the map layouts this means that you’ll have to upgrade the Falconer bonus a couple of times before it can reach the towers required. The Snapvine Bridge level has a good location for this but there are others as well:
Cull the weak
Weaken 100 enemies with the Totem of Weakness
Requires the Tribal Axethrower tower. You’ll get this quickly on levels which have summoners like Blood Tricksters present.
Silence please!
Silence 70 spellcasters with the Spirit Totem
Requires the Tribal Axethrower tower. The totem is useful for shutting down spellcasters like the Earth Shamans so having 1-2 of them on a map can be useful. You might get the achievement within a couple of levels doing this.
Highlander
Have one templar revive 5 times in a row
Max out the Holy Grail upgrade for the knights templar for increased chance. After that it’s down to luck basically. Put the templars in some dangerous spot for a higher templar turnover.
Credit to Mango for this tip: a good spot for this is the Ma’qwa Urqu campaign level (the one with the volcano). Put a Templar tower in the top and get Holy Grail. Use the remaining money as you see fit to defend the lower path together with your hero. A totem/crossbow tower is useful to have near the princess house, it can save the princess without the need of using Rain of Fire so you can have your helpers keep the bottom half safer till you secure it abit better.
Let it bleed
Kill 100 enemies by letting them bleed to death
Requires the Arterial Strike upgrade to the knights templar. Put the templars in some spot were there isn’t too much other stuff killing the enemies instead. The Crimson Valley level were you first get the templars works quite well. Put a couple of templar towers to the left and right and they can handle the savages on their own. Archers in the middle and bottom to protect your exit.
Ali Baba
Have your assassins steal 10 000 gold
Requires the Pickpocket upgrade for the assassins. Each pickpocket for one assassin gives 2-3 gold and one enemy can be pickpocketed several times (but there is a limit per enemy). If you need to farm this achievement Crimson Valley (first jungle mission) works quite well for this.
Start with something like this (picture taken after first wave):
Focus on building assassin towers but upgrade the archer forts and use Rain of Fire as needed. By the end of the level you should be able to have something like this:
Dodge this!
Have your assassins dodge 1000 attacks
Purchase the Counterattack upgrade for the assassins to increase dodge chance (max 70 %) and hence speed this up. You get this while working on the Ali Baba achievement.
Overcharged
Deal over 30 000 damage with Critical Mass explosions
Requires the Critical Mass upgrade for the archmage. Higher damage (i.e. faster to get) if you upgrade it further. Placing an Archmage tower on levels which have summoners (Blood Tricksters, Saurian Savants) is a good way to speed this up.
Fujita #5
Pick up 500 enemies with the twister spell
Requires the Twister upgrade for the archmage. Upgrade it fully to be able to get more enemies in the same cyclone.
Grim Reaper
Have your Death Riders claim 99 lives
Requires the Summon Death Rider upgrade for the necromancer tower. A good place for doing this is on Beresad’s lair. Put 2-3 necromancer towers at the lower middle and position the death riders above the cliff. That way they can kill a lot of the enemies climbing up with minor interference from the other towers.
Necropolis
Have 20 skeletal minions active at the same time
2-3 necromancer towers should get you this without problems, put them close to some chokepoint were you’ll have lot of enemies dying.
Popular BBQ
Set 20 enemies on fire at the same time
Requires the Furnace Blast upgrade for the Dwaarp. Use two of them on either side of a map with loads of enemies (i.e. any of the later levels really) and you should get this fairly easy.
Credit to AweSomeBooBs for this tip: On the Ma’qwa Urqu level (the one with the volcano), the last (15) wave will spawn the exact amount of monsters needed at the bottom (they will come all together so no problem to BBQ them at the same time). Build Dwaarp tower in the left bottom spot (overgrowth one, just in the center of road’s curve), and then fire them.
Death from below
Kill over 100 enemies with the drill
Requires the Core Drill upgrade for the Dwaarp. This has a fairly long cooldown so I’d suggest upgrading it fully (-6 sec cooldown) to make it go a bit faster. The drill can kill tougher enemies like Gorillons and Brutes so it’s a good idea to get this if you have a Dwaarp active.
Optimus Prime
Have your mechas defeat 500 enemies
Just build some mechas and you’ll get it eventually. Get the Wasp Missiles to speed things up.
Mechwarrior
Build 3 mechas on any one stage
Self-explanatory. One way of doing this is to start the Heroic challenge on any of the later levels which will give you plenty of gold right at the start, enough to build 3 mechas right away.
Rising Tides expansion
Rising Tides adds 3 more levels to the game together with 5 achievements. I’d suggest getting most if not all tower upgrades before doing these as the levels are somewhat harder than the main campaign.
Waterworld
Kill 50 swimming enemies
Can be done in any of the three levels and is cumulative i.e. you don’t have to kill 50 enemies in a single level. You do have to kill them before they reach the shore however. Easier in the second and third map since you’ll have more swimming enemies there.
In the Navy
Sink 5 enemy gunboats.
Done in the first level. The gunboats will enter from the top left and make an u-turn towards the top right. Does not have to be done all in one level. The gunboats can be damaged either by the nearby pirate tower, by building on the topmost tower spots or with rain of fire.
Jaws
Kill 20 sharks before they reach the shore.
Done in the second level. The sharks are what Deviltides rides on in this level. They enter from the left and make a straight line towards the shore to the right. The pirate hero, rain of fire and mage towers are all good options to kill them (Deviltides have medium armor).
Perfect Storm
Kill 3 Bluegales while under a storm.
Can be done in the second and third level and is cumulative. To get this you have to kill the Bluegales once they have moved under the stormclouds that they’ve summoned.
Squid in its ink
Defeat Leviathan, the Underwater God.
The Leviathan is the boss of the third and final level of the expansion and will appear once you’ve cleared the 15 waves of enemies. The boss himself is not particulary hard and if you repair and upgrade the statue in the middle of the level it can do a decent chunk of damage with that as well. The level itself however is a bit more tricky, if you’re having trouble there are several videos to be found on Youtube.
Shadowmoon expansion
Shadowmoon adds three levels and five achievements to the game. Similar to Rising Tides you have to first complete the main campaign (15 missions) before being able to play Shadowmoon.
These three levels have a unique mechanic called full moon which activates a couple of times during the level. While full moon is active additional enemies spawn as well all enemies recieve a speed boost.
Zombie Walk
Destroy 100 zombies under a full moon.
Zombies are plentiful on all three levels and fairly weak. Kill 100 while the full moon is up, AoE such as Dwaarp is useful.
Moonwalker
Survive 13 full moons without losing a single life
Cumulative, you won’t have 13 full moons during one single level so you’ll have to play them a couple of times to get this. As long as you don’t let any enemy through your gates while the full moon is up this shouldn’t take you too long.
I See Dead People
Defeat 6 Phantom Warriors before they harm any soldier with their aura of death
Phantom Warriors start appearing on the second level. Upon death they’ll do an AoE which can potentially kill any nearby soldiers. Kill 6 of them before they get near any of your soldiers, you’ll have to use mage towers since they are immune to physical damage.
Ghostbusters
Complete the desecrated grove without any ghosts escaping
The desecrated grove is the second level which is also were these guys start spawning. Similar to Phantom Warriors you’ll need magic damage to kill these. Complete the level without any ghosts getting through (losing life to other enemies such as zombies does not count).
Dead and Loving it
Defeat Vasile, the Everlasting Prince.
The boss of the third and final level, complete the 15 waves for him to appear. He’ll first go down the left lane together with a lot of vampires, then once you kill him the first time he’ll reset to the start and go down the right lane. Once you kill him the second time you’ll get the achievement.
Darklight Depths Expansion
This final expansion brings the Darklight Depths level and 2 achievements:
You’ve found me
Find the hidden mortal reptilian combatant
This guy can be found right at the start, half invisible in the top right of the level. Click on him and he’ll climb up the wall, after which you’ll get the achievement
I’m the Lizard King
Defeat Xyzzy, the Saurian King
Xyzzy enters from the top left in the 15th wave, if you were able to get to this wave he should be no problem for you.
