Overview
This guide describes one of my favorite deck : 5 colors, big creatures, creature removal, card advantage, and most important : an effective deck !
Introduction
The idea of this deck is to play with big creatures, and use early game to remove opponent creatures and build card advantage, through mana drawing, card drawing or getting cards back from the graveyard.
I will first give you the full deck listing, then comments by cards type.

Creatures
3 Giant Scorpion : While a small creature in a big creature deck, this card is very important for two purposes : Slow down weenie decks, and make your opponent think twice before attacking with a big creature because of deathtouch.
1 Talrand, Sky Summoner : This one is here to take advantage of the many instant / sorcery, and can come into play early on to slow down weenie decks.
Could be replaced by Soul of Zendikar / Time Warp…
1 Maelstrom Angel : Nice card to cast big creatures early on. With a turn three Darksteel Ingot, turn four angel, you can get a turn five Kozilek.
1 Fusion Elemental : 8/8 is good enough, especially when it can come on turn 4.
1 Soul of Ravnica : for the card drawing ability
1 Inferno Titan : important especially against weenie / tokens deck.
2 Charmbreaker Devils : nice card to get your instants / sorcery back.
1 Sheoldred, Whispering One : very nice card for the ability to bring back you creatures (and triggers then “come into play” effect again), and the ability to kill opponent creatures. Try to play it when opponent is taped out, to ensure that he will have to sacrifice at least one creature.
2 Rune-Scarred Demon : big flying creature with “demonic tutor” effect. This is very nice, especially in a deck that pack a lot of cards only once or twice.
1 Griselbrand : 7/7 flying, lifelink and card drawing. No need to say more….
1 Kozilek, Butcher of Truth : usually the game is quickly over once Kozilek hit the battlefield…
Creatures removal
1 Banefire : Do not hesitate to cast an early Banefire to remove a 1/2 defense pesky creature. Later on, the “cannot be countered”, “cannot be prevented” effect is very good.
2 Anger of the Gods : very important against weenie or annoying creatures like Vengevine or Boodghast
3 Resounding Thunder : early on, it is a instant that does three damage, which is good. Later on, it is an instant that “does 6 damage, can not be countered, draw a card”, which is great
3 Auger Spree : the -4 in defense is why I choosed this card, ad it can remove a lot of annoying 4 defense creatures for 3 mana (like Charmbreaker Devils, Brimaz, Stormbreath Dragon, Woolly Thoctar to name a few)
2 Flesh to Dust : to remove any creatures
Utility spells
1 Elixir of Immortality : 5 life, and recycle your graveyard
1 Suffer the Past : to remove annoying cards like Vengvine or Bloodghast. With some mana, Suffer the past + Banefire can surprise an opponent….
1 Naturalize : to remove artifact / enchantment, especially againt angels deck
2 Obelisk of Alara : with a 5 color mana base, this obelisk is a very powerfull card : gain life, draw card, direct damage, kill small creatures or boost your ones, in one card !
Cards / Mana drawing
The idea here is to pack card drawing or mana drawing cards. You can change cards here as you want between the cards listed below.
1 Think Twice
1 Inspiration
2 Armillary Sphere
2 Cultivate
3 Darksteel Ingot : very important, especially to get a white mana with the current mana base
Lands
The goal is to provide easily the mana you need, either through double / triple mana lands, or with enough basic lands for Cultivate / Armillary Sphere
1 Plains
2 Island
3 Swamp
2 Mountain
3 Forest
1 Jungle Shrine
3 Crumbling Metropolis
3 Savage Lands
1 Simic Guildgate
1 Golgari Guildgate
Conclusion
I really have fun with this deck, packing a lot of various card and still being able to provide good results in duel. I got my champion achievement mainly with similar decks, with around 60% of wins, which is a very good result.
I hope you will give it a try, and have fun with it!
