A Comprehensive Guide to BR mode of Hunters Arena Legends

Overview

This guide is meant to be a general guide for the Battle Royale mode for Hunters Arena Legends. It is not meant for any specific character or build or strategy but instead as a way to understand the basics of the game, what items do and are used for, and general map knowledge. It is simply meant as a way for you to not get into the game completely blind. Even tho this guide is fairly beefy it might not cover everything and if you have a question about something not covered feel free to join the official Hunters Arena discord and ask or check the official website for Hunters Arena. I took alot of L’s gathering screenshots and testing things out to get this guide made so I hope you all appreciate it! I shall keep the guide updated and add more screens and information as it becomes available.

Masteries

Masteries help define and cement your characters playstyle. With 5 different paths to choose from there is no shortage of options. As of writing this guide not all masteries are accessible and the account level cap is 25. The mastery system seems to still be a work in progress, however that doesnt mean you should sleep on them. not at all, any small advantage helps!.If you are new to the game I highly recommend a even split of weapon attack power and skill attack power until you can determine what your playstyle and main character to be. For example At level 13 this would be 1.1% weapon attack power and 1% skill attack power. Make sure you take the blue mastery on both paths, which gives 0.5% power for that specific branch. That one mastery is worth 5 points so its absolutely worth it to take. As you get more comfortable with the game and found your main character and playstyle feel free to explore. You might want to go full on skill power for Dara!

Ability Points

Just like with The masteries you get out of game you also get ingame masteries that have 3 paths to choose from, Fighters Spirit, Accuracy, and Harmony. These masteries are a little different from your account masteries and you always start with a fresh sheet each game start. There are many options to choose from, however if you are a new player I recommend taking the entire red tree (both weapon and skill power equally) then going down the right side of the blue tree. Once you are comfortable with the game and your character/playstyle then I encourage you to explore your own path that suits your playstyle.

Starting Weapons

There are 6 different types of weapons to choose from(3 green weapons and 3 white weapons) and What weapon you choose is very important in determining your play style as well as capitalize on character strength. I am going to go over each weapon, including legendaries and how to determine which weapon to choose.

The first weapon on the list is the Restricted Punishing Sword. This sword will give you the highest attack power out of any sword on the list and gives equal skill and attack power. Obviously this comes with a drawback, and that drawback is that it cannot be enhanced aswell as costing 80% of your 1000 gold budget. When buying this item your only other option is to buy a horse or glider. If you are expecting early PvP you should consider buying this item as it will give you higher combat power than any other option you can take. Its also very good for general monster killing.

The next weapon on the list is the Restrained Purifying Sword. This weapon does not give as much attack power as the Restricted Punishing Sword, however it is cheaper and it comes with a special effect that deals 20% damage to normal monsters. Even tho its less damage than the punishing sword, it will still do more damage than the white sword to normal monsters because of its special attribute. Also, because its not expensive it gives you more wiggle room to spend your money on more items such as a armor piece or a treasure map+horse(more on those later). Just like with the punishing sword, you can not enhance this item. Buy this item if you are looking to grind monster zones with high density such as caves.

Next is the Restrained Lustrious Sword. This weapon is the same as the Purifying Sword, however it has a different attribute that specializes in doing extra damage to cheif monsters.Just like the other two weapons, this sword can not be enhanced. Take this sword if you are thinking about rushing down some cheifs.

White Weapons

Next we are getting into the white weapons and these weapons are much weaker than the restrained weapons, however they can be enhanced. You do not normal start off with one of these weapons, however The enhanced and legendary versions of these weapons will end up totally eclipsing the restrained weapons and it is important to study each one so you can determine which weapon to choose and upgrade when they are found out in the field. Choosing the wrong type will hurt your characters offense So its very important to not just equip any random weapon you see. If your characters playstyle revolves around alot of skills usage then you do not want a weapon that gives weapon attack power, you want a weapon that gives more skill power. Likewise if your character revolves around alot of basic attacks then you want more weapon attack power. There are 5 levels of enhancement for white weapons, with the 5th level being the legendary weapons. White = silent , green = Sighing, Blue = Proud, Purple = Noble, and Gold = Glorious. These 5 names will always be followed by the weapon path of your choosing, such as Noble Slayers Judgment.

If that sounds confusing it will be made clear as I break down each of these 3 weapon types, but generally you can ignore the first name and just Correlate the rarity of the weapon to its color rather than its first name. Your goal is to enhance up to ATLEAST a purple weapon and eventually a gold weapon ASAP. this goes for jewelry and armor aswell. Legendary weapons can be further enhanced for even more power, making them mandatory items for last man standing.

The first of these white weapons is the Silent Slayer’s Judgment. This weapon and its enhancements specializes in weapon Attack power, which is your characters basic attacks. If your character specializes in alot of basic attacks then this weapon paths enhancements is what you are aiming for. The weapon path will always be called “Slayer’s Judgment”.

Next is the Silent Conqueror’s Condemnation. This weapon and its enhancements specializes in Skill attack power, which makes your skills more powerful. If your character and playstyle revolves around alot of Skills then this is the weapon you should take. This weapon path will always be called “Conqueror’s Condemnation”.

And finally we have the Silent Destroyer’s Frenzy. This Weapon and its Enhancements have a nice balance of both attack power and skill attack power. This is a general weapon and is what you normaly would use if you can not find the weapon of your specialization or if your play style revolves around using both skills and basic attacks equally. For New players I reccomend using this Weapon untill you are comfortable with the game. If you went with my reccomendation for masteries then this weapon is a perfect compliment for that build. This Weapon’s path will always be called “Destroyer’s Frenzy”.

Armor and jewelry

To Complete your characters gear you will also need armor and jewelry. With the exception of the helmet which only focuses on HP, armor is also separated into two types for weapon/skill specialization. Guardians Honor Focuses on Weapon Defense and Pathfinders Creed Focuses on Skill Defense. Armor gets a bit tricky to decide upon but usually you want to see who the top 3 players in the game are. If you see they are mostly skill based you would get Pathfinders Creed, if you see they are Weapon based users then you would go for Guardians Honor. Atleast that may seem good on paper but in reality the game is too Chaotic to make that decision. Its best to roll with whatever armor piece you think will help you out the most and enhance it without thinking too much about it. Its much easier to plan out your own playstyle than predict others.

Jewlry is fairly straight forward because you get weapon The necklace has a skill type specialization which gives both skill defense and skill power and the ring has a weapon type specialization which focuses on both weapon power and weapon defense. Not much to think about here, there is only 1 type of ring and 1 type of necklace so get both and enhance.

Legendary Equipment

Legendary equipment is the final enhancement level of the white weapons you see in shop. You need 2 Crystals of power (purple crystals) to get these weapons and they can be further enhanced with more purple cyrstals to +3. It is possible that enhancement can go beyond +3 but more confirmation is needed on that. Obviously this is the final goal for your gear, to get full legendaries and enhance them as much as possible for the final circles. If you are in Full legendary gear i highly recommend getting your legendary weapon to +3. You can do this by using the spare purple crystals you have laying around.

Enhancing and Enchanting

Enhancing is very straight forward and simple. You have two materials to enhance with, Power crystals (black crystals) and Pure power Crystals (Purple crystals). Each piece of gear requires increasing amounts of cyrstals for enhancing. Black cyrstals are acquired from dismantling gear and purple crystals are gained from treasure chests, defeating players, phantom hunters, and the special weapon merchant.

As for Enchanting you enchant your gear Through Enchantment scrolls And these all give effects when you hit a enemy a certain number of times. There are 4 options you can receive: Fire(inflicts additional damage) Ice( Decreases weapon/attack power) Desert( Decreases skill defense/attack power) and Forest(Steals HP upon damage dealt). The Random option scroll gives you a random enchantment but you need 3 of them.

Stat Books and Exp Books

Cheif monsters, bosses, and some treasure chests drop stat books. as the name suggests these books permanently increase your stats such as weapon/skill power, hp, or skill/weapon defense power. You can get either a minor book or a major book, major books give double the stats of minor books and drop from cheifs and bosses in dungeons. Exp books give a nice chunk of exp and you cana always find them in treasure chests.

Enhancement Order

If you are wondering what order you should enhance your gear in then you should follow standard MMO guidelines. What I recommend is enhancing Weapon first, followed by armor, followed by helmet, and finally your jewlry. I dont recommend rouletting your gear. Upgrade one piece to purple fully first then move on to the next piece. Its better to have a purple weapon than have full green gear. If you have the opportunity to go straight to a legendary then prioritize that above all else always.

Kill Buff

For each player you kill you get an attack power increase. So the more players you kill, the more your power snowballs.

Items

The General Merchant sells alot of useful items that will give you a huge advantage out on the field vs thos who do not use them. Two items of particular interest here are the Greater Potion and Telescope. The greater potion increases your HP regen when using pots from 30 to 90, extremely useful when healing up for the next fight or to tank barrier damage. Treasure maps are also useful as they give the location of all treasure chests for the specific area the map indicates. There are 3 types of chests: white, blue, and gold with gold being the most valuable. Gold chests can spawn rarely on the field, but they are also always found after a boss spawns in the dungeon.

The Telescope is mainly used to scout out players from long distances and check their gear score. Also very useful for surveying a area from a safe distance before entering. Just be careful tho, you are very vulnerable from being flanked while in first person mode! Make sure you use the item when you are absolutely sure no one is around you.

Map

The map has alot of high interest places to pay attention to aswell as show you the location of traveling merchants. If you check “view monster level” your map will show colored areas. Each color indicates the difficulty of the monsters that spawn there are, with purple being the highest. The higher the difficulty, the greater the rewards. Purple areas are also highly contested by players so also keep that in mind. The giant red circles you see are called Blood zones. You take damage inside these areas just like with the barrier. Some other things to note is that Monsters in side dungeons have a much higher drop rate for weapons where as monsters on the field have a much higher drop rate for armor/jewlery. if you find yourself farming a dungeon and no armor pieces are dropping for you then you might want to head outside and kill the monsters on the field. likewise if you cant find a weapon on the field you might need to head to a dungeon to get one. The Two main points of interest for players on the map are caves and dungeons.

  • Caves

If you look at your map you will notice there are cave areas. The monster densitity in these gaves are higher than anywhere else and they are fairly easy to kill. You can go here for very quick exp gains and also get a few item drops because of the density of mobs there. These caves also have a good amount of cheif’s in them So it is another high interest point for players. if you can clear these caves you will generally come out higher level than everyone else, but keep in mind that even tho you have high levels your combat power will be lower than those farming dungeons.

  • Dungeons

Dungeons are the absolute best place to farm for gear, levels, and combat power. The amount of major stat books and stat bonuses in general you get here is unrivaled and to top it off a boss spawns in each dungeon for even greater rewards. Securing a dungeon gives you a huge advantage, but expect to fight half the lobby for rights to it. Dungeons are also the only place you can farm power cyrstals/stones.

Power Crystals/Stones

Power stones only spawn inside dungeons and give you huge stat boosts for gathering/destroying them. There are 3 types: red, blue, and green. Red increases your weapon/skill power. Blue increases your defense power, and green increases your max HP. There are stone versions of these in certain dungeons like tower of screams that you have to hit 4 times with your weapons to get the buff instead of gather them, but they provide the same stats as the crystal versions.

Treasure Goblin

Every now and then you will see a trail of gold that leads to somewhere. If you follow it a treasure goblin will always be at the end. Kill it for a nice explosion of gold!

Anarchy Realm

The anarchy realm is basically a combat zone where you do extra damage, gain extra exp, and fight for the right to the boss that spawns in the middle here. Again this is another place of high interest from players, so enter the realm expecting to fight alot of people. The location of the realm is always random, however it will usually always spawn out on the field and spawns at night. The boss their drops some really good loot but its also very hard to take down alone if you are below level 20. Be cautious when entering this area!

Night Time

After about 5 mins night time will fall on the field and during which monsters become much stronger. There are also special monsters that spawn only during night which including phantom hunters. Phantom hunters are essentially AI controlled bots of other hunters. In order to set them apart from real players a Phantom Hunter will always have glowing red eyes. Defeating them gives you good rewards, including purple crystals and you even acquire a “kill buff” for defeating them. Some guards also disappear from town at night, making it more dangerous to shop in town.

Merchant Odong

Merchant Odong is a special NPC that spawns very late into the game. The reason she is so special, and adorable, is because she sells legendary items for only 250 gold! She also sells minor stat books and other useful goodies so be sure to keep a lookout for her!
