Overview
Whether you’re new to the game or have played a few hours, Here are a couple things that you may not have realized and will find helpful.
Always buy available Mysterious Keys
Regardless of how far you are, And how many open slots you have at the time, You should always pick these up from the merchant if you see them in stock.
Mysterious Keys are used to open Lockboxes that can contain various items, Such as higher level weapons & armour that you can find in the shop. The problem is that the game will never stock more than one key at a time. Restocking keys can also take quite a while, Which is why I would recommend buying them out when you can to avoid a hassle later.
You can technically acquire Mysterious Keys from enemies, However I find the drop rate is much lower than that of Mysterious Lockboxes. It’s not uncommon to be lugging around a couple Lockboxes with no keys.
It’s not just for decoration.
Stuck on a fetch quest? Spineweed shortage? Try consulting the oracle that lives within the glass prison.
Units will always retaliate when attacked.
Once you’ve directed an enemy’s attention to the Knight, You never have to worry about moving your Knight again. When one enemy dies he will simply move on to the next. Helps allieviate the need to micromanage units.
Running, Now a simple click away.
If for whatever reason you’d like to leave a fight immediately, Open the Menu (Esc by default) and select Retreat to leave the fight, And arrive in the area’s graveyard. Helpful if you’re simply backtracking to a previous area.
Alternatively you can Retreat while in a dungeon, And you will reappear in front of the area in the Overworld.
Rainbow Carp
Very rarely when fishing, You can catch a fish called a “Rainbow Carp” that will increase a character’s maximum health points.
Come for the goods, Stay for the music.
Some say if you go swimming west of Stonewynn Keep, You’ll end up washed away.
Shaman’s Totem Placement
Shaman will summon Totems/Elementals to the cursor’s current position. Use and abuse as you will for those Enrage buffs.
Archer’s Double Shot
Patched, No longer works.
What the game will tell you about Multishot:
What you may not realize immediately is that the Multishot can proc on the same target as the initial shot. Double Damage is pretty helpful against Bosses isn’t it?
“No Turning Back”, They meant it.
One of the last areas in the game called “The Netherworld”, When you first enter you spawn at a basecamp with a merchant nearby who sells best purchasable gear. Once you proceed past this area however, You cannot return to the basecamp. Attempting to retreat to the Overworld and reentering the area will put you past it.
In the event that you missed this area, Your second-best opportunity is to simply grind enemies in the Overworld near this location. They can drop similar gear.
