Overview
This guide is to provide you with as much help as I can when choosing the scope that is the best for you. Hope this helps avoid some horrible purchase decisions.
Intro
Choosing scopes for guns is really based on preference, I could say that the Silverwood Combo Scope is probably the most popular scope all-round because it gives great versatility or that snipers often choose the ArmCom Sniper Scope or EMI Electric Scope, but it’s really all based on what you really like. However there are a few things you should know about when choosing a scope and I will try to go over those things in this guide.
What to pay attention to
As I’ve said scopes are something that is really based on preference. Some like iron sights, some like high zoom, etc. However there are some things that you should pay attention to:
1. Choose based on the purpose. Obviously you have to choose the scope depending on what you want to do with the gun. So you should probably choose 3.00 zoom scopes or more for long range shooting (for example the Bolt-Action Rifle or the Combat Rifle) and less than 3.00 for medium to close range (Assault Rifle, Submachine Gun, etc.).
2. The scope in time. When choosing look at the scope in time for those scopes, because scopes with similar zoom levers can have drastically different scope in times. For example, the EMI Electric Scope compared with the Frontier Sniper Scope both have a zoom of 3.90 but the EMI has a scope in time of 0.22 while the Frontier one has 0.50.
3. Open scopes vs Closed scopes. Keep in mind that there are two types of scopes: open ones (like the Krane Holo Sight) and closed scopes (like the EON Electronic Scope). Open sights block a lot less of your screen when scoped in and make it easier to see if someone is coming at you from your side.
4. Regular scopes vs Infrared scopes. There are three infrared (IR) scopes in the game (ArmCom Infrared Scope, EMI Infrared Scope and EMI Infrared Scope Mk. 2) with zoom levels varying from 2.00 to 4.00. They all highlight the enemies making it easier to spot them (especially cloaked players), but they have some downsides too. The first disadvantage would be that their scope in times are longer compared to regular scopes with similar zoom. Another disadvantage would be that the scopes are closed and the reticles are harder to aim with.
5. Ammo counter scopes. These scopes display you the remaining ammo on the scope both on the gun and when aiming down the sight.
The scopes and their stats
This part of the guide is to show you what each of the scopes looks like when ADS’ing (Aiming down the sights) because you get only very limited info about that in game unless you buy it. Hope this help avoid some horrible purchase decisions.
I’ve also provided the zoom levels, scope in times, price and the levels that you unlock them at for convenience. The scope in times are listed for a default SMG so they might vary slightly depending on you weapon.
The screenshots were taken using the 70 FOV settings. The scopes were used on a default SMG.
