Primal Carnage Guide

A Guide to Primal Carnage for Primal Carnage

A Guide to Primal Carnage

Overview

With the new sale, there are a lot of new people in Primal. This guide will try to help newcomers with my 558 hours of experience. This guide is not 100% accurate, but it is a guideline of tips that should help you out in most case. There may be scenarios while playing Primal Carnage that what I say in the guide isn’t going to work.

The Human Team

Humans are one of the two teams you can play as in Primal Carnage The human section of this guide will help you play successfully with all 5 of the human classes. The abilities of each class will be provided, along with tips to defeat each Dinosaur class and how to play on each game mode.

Human Basics

The controls as a human are very similar to other FPS games, so they shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out. A very important control to know (that people ask frequently) is how to heal and get ammo. To do this, you need to walk up to a health/ammo box and press E.

As all 5 humans, you can press f to melee, but you should barely ever use this as it is very inneffective. Only the trapper should use it regularly.

When playing as a human, it is best to stay in a group so you aren’t as easy of a target.

When in combat, make sure you never stand still. You need to sprint and jump around to make it more difficult for a Dinosaur to hit you.

Just a tip, keep in mind that health does not regenerate. You need to go to the health box to get more health.

The Commando

The commando is a class that is commonly used by Primal Carnage players, but it is actually a bit underpowered and is difficult to master.

Weapons
  • The Commando’s main weapon is his machine gun. Each indivisual bullet doesn’t do much damage, but it’s fast fire rate can tear smaller Dinosaurs to shreds if you have good aim, and it can inflict a lot of damage on big Dinos. When using this weapon, make sure to fire it in bursts, because the longer you hold down the fire button, the less accurate it becomes. When shooting long distance, make sure you crouch to increase accuracy. However, don’t crouch if you are being attacked because it will slow you down and make you an easy target.
  • The Commando’s secondary is his underbarrel grenade launcher. Since you only get to have 3 of these before getting ammo, it is best not to spam it. Grenades are helpful for picking off smaller Dinosaurs (you can potentially one shot Raptors, Dilos, and Pteras) from afar (at very close range the grenades dont explode, so try to avoid using them in close quarters) or doing big damage to the larger Dinosaurs. If using the grenade launcher at long range, make sure to aim above the target because the grenades drop.

    The Pathfinder

The pathfinder is a favorite among Primal players, as it is the most over powered human class. However, to be good with this guy you need to know how to use it.

    Weapons
    • The only weapon the Pathfidner has is the shotgun. The shotgun can deliver massive amounts of damage. (you can one shot smaller Dinos if you land a good shot, and even potentially kill a Carno in two shots) To inflict the most damage, shoot the head or the body. However, the shotgun has poor range and it has a very long reload. Make sure you reload after a fight so you don’t get stuck with no ammo with raptors crawling all over you. Try to avoid wasting you ammo at longer range, because it is highly unlikely you’ll get a kill.
    • The Pathy also has flares in his arsenal. Throwing a flare will blind Dinosaurs, and are good for keeping yourself and your teammates hidden. However, I personally think flares are really over powered in Get to the Chopper, because you can prevent the Dinosaurs from seeing you while you capture the objective. I rarely use flares, but you can if you want.

    The Pyro

In my opinion, the Pyro is the most fun human class in the game. Many noobs use it to camp in corners, but to master it takes a lot of skill.

    Weapons
    • The Pyro’s main weapon is his flamesaw. It consists of a flamethrower and a chainsaw in one weapon. What is more badass than that? The flamethrower doesn’t do that much damage, but the DOT effect of the fire can definately roast a weakened Dinosaur. The flamethrower has very short range, so don’t waste ammo trying to shoot a Dino from a long distance. Also, you walk very slow while firing the flamethrower, so make sure you jump around a lot while using it. The chainsaw does a ton of damage, but it only works at point blank range, and you can’t continuously hold it. It can make short work of small Dinosaurs and do heavy damage to Carnos, but never try to chainsaw a T-rex/Spino (unless it’s afk) because it will just step on you.
    • The Pyro’s last weapon is his grenades. Unlike realistic grenades, the are explode on impact. The grenades are the Pyro’s only way of killing Dinosaurs from far away, and they can make short work of a pack of raptors or other small Dinosaur. You can also suicide bomb, which is a fun way to annoy the other team.

    The Scientist

The Scientist is arguably the hardest class to learn to play as in the game, but it is very rewarding.

    Weapons
    • The main weapon of the Scientist is her Sniper Rifle. You will be using this gun 95% of the time. The sniper rifle requires very good aim, but not as much as in other shooter games. No scoping is far more effective in this game than in games like CoD and Battlefield, so use this to your advantage in close quarters. The Sniper rifle is very strong, delivering 200 damage with each shot, and even more with a headshot. (one shot anywhere on the body can kill a Dilo, but you need to headshot a Raptor or Ptera to kill it in one hit) Use the scope for long range, but using the scope only hinder you at close range. Like the Commando machine gun, crouching raises accuracy, so crouch while firing at long range.
    • The secondary weapon of the Scientist is the tranquilizer gun. The majority of this time, this gun is very ineffective. However, it can help slow down a pesky T-rex or Spino and makes them easy prey, but against every other Dinosaur the sniper rifile is your best bet.

    The Trapper

Another fan favorite, the Trapper is a relatively easy andf effective class, while also being very fun to play.

    Weapons
    • The trapper is armed with dual pistols. For some reason, they are two different pistols, so one of them has 7 bullets in a magazine while the other has 6. The dual pistols are relatively weak, but good aim can make them lethal to any Dino.
    • The Trapper’s primary weapon is the net gun, but you shouldn’t walk around with it out as much as you do with the pistols. If you hit a small Dinosaur with a net, they are immobolized so you can get an easy kill on them. When a Raptor, Dilo, or Ptera is trapped, walk up to it and press f to knife it for a one hit kill. Nets are much less effective against bigger Dinos though, so don’t try to knife a netted T-rex. However, you can net a Tyrant’s head to prevent it from eating humans and gaining health, so this is helpful support for your team. When using a net at long range, aim above your target like with the Commando grenade launcher because the nets have drop as well.

    Tips for Team Deathmatch

Team Deatchmatch is one of two game modes in this game. (well, actually one of three, but nobody ever plays capture the egg so I’m not even going to cover it) Here are some useful tips to help you play as a human in TDM.

When you first spawn, meet up with the closest human as quickly as possible. This will give you safety against pouncing Raptors and Ptera grabs.

When you are in a group of humans, try to find a suitable place to hold down. In TDM, your group needs to be somewhere close enough to health and ammo to get it when you need it. Also, buildings are a great place for humans to hold down because it provides shelter from T-rexes. A good place for a group of humans also makes it difficult for Pteranodons to carry people away successfully, and it is helpful to be somewhere that has no vantage points for Dilos to rain spit on your group.

Knowing where the Dinosaur health is great as well. Sneaking up on feasting Dinosaurs can definately get you a few kills a match. Also, situating your group nearby a health carcass can prevent Dinosaurs from getting health, allowing your other human teammates to finish off some weakened Dinos. If a T-rex walks over to get health and a group of humans is there waiting for it, then the Rex is easy prey.

Tips for Get to the Chopper

Get to the Chopper is my favorite game mode, and it takes a lot of strategy for humans to pull off a win against a good Dino team.

Unlike TDM, Get to the Chopper requires the humans to move around instead of holding down an area. Even if your human team isn’t making progress, keep pushing for the objective. Sitting in spawn does nothing for your team.

Most of the time, it is best to stay together. It is more difficult for Dinosaurs to stop a whole human team than one or two people.

After the humans are removed from the capture point and the progress is still there, you need to try to keep the capture alive. It doesn’t matter if you are by yourself, you better run your ass to the point and try to keep the progress you made. After the Dinosaurs rid the capture point of people, they will most likely go get health, leaving you an opening push for the point.

    Beating the Dinosaurs

This part of the guide will give you tips on killing each of the Dinosaur class while you are playing as humans.

    Pteras

Pteranodons might not seem that frightening all the time, but they are a big threat. The best way to beat a Ptera is to stick together. Once a Ptera grabs a human, if they take any damage they drop the human. When you see a Ptera carrying somebody away, use all your effort to try to save your teammates. All it takes is one hit. The Pathfinder, Pyro, and Commando aren’t good for shooting Pteras out of the sky, but the Scientist excels at it. The trapper pistols are also pretty good for picking them off from long range, but nowhere near as good as the sniper rifle. When using Pathfinder, jump and shoot a Ptera while you are in the air to increase your range, allowing you to deal more damage. When a Ptera lands on the ground, they are easy prey, but don’t let it grab all your attention since it isn’t much of a threat. When a Ptera swoops down to grab somebody, the Pyro can light it on fire and the DOT prevents it from grabbing people, so keep that in mind.

    Raptors

Raptors are by far the most popular class in Primal Carnage, so always be weary of them. The raptor’s over powered pounce attack can beat any lone human, so make sure you stick together. With other humans, they are less of an issue, but still very dangerous. Raptors are extremely fast and agile, so good aim is required to hit a good raptor. The Commando grenades deal massive damage and can potentially one shot them, at close range Commandos are pretty weak to raptors. The Pathfinder’s shotgun can potentially one shot them as well if you land a good shot. Pyros can set them aflame and dispatch them with the chainsaw in seconds. Raptors are difficult to shoot at long range because of their speed, and the Scientist has to no scope them up close. The trapper can net them and immobolize them, but it is difficult to land a net on a good raptor player. When fighting a Raptor, try to keep enough space in between yourself and the raptor so it can’t hit you, by jumping around. You alse need to keep the raptor in your line of sight as much as possible.

    Dilos

The Dilophosaurus isn’t that difficult to kill because of it’s low health, stamina, and speed. However, if they sneek up on you and blind you they can be deadly. Dealing with a Dilo at close range is basically the same as fighting a Raptor, but less difficult. The second you get blinded by a Dilo, move and jump around, even if you have no idea where it is. Since the Dilo can’t spit more than twice without roaring, you can stall out the time you are blinded, then shoot at it afterwards. If a Dilo is sniping you from far away, don’t stand still so you can be a more difficult target. The Scientist is great for beating Dilos in long range fire fights, but all human classes can effectively beat a Dilo in a battle in close quarters.

    T-rex/Spino

The T-rex is the Tyrant class in TDM, and in GTTC it is the Spinosaurus. Both of these Tyrants are over powered beasts that can wipe out whole groups of humans, so beware of these guys. If you stumble across a Tyrant by yourself, try to keep hidden from it. If there is a building or place it can’t reach nearby, run to it. If it sees you in the open, whatever you do do not run in a straight path. A tyrant can outrun you in a straight course, so make sure you turn around corners and other obsticles. if the Tyrant catches up to you, jump around until you get behind it. If there is no way to escape it, jump into its feet. If you get eaten, the T-rex/Spino gets health back. In GTTC against a Spino, always make sure you don’t get eaten. Two great ways to deal with Tyrants are tranqs and nets. Tranqs drain their stamina and make them slower than slugs, and nets make it so they can only kill you by stepping on you, denying them health. Pyros can barely touch them apart from their grenades, so don’t waste your ammo on them unless you know it is weakened. In GTTC against a Spino, make sure to shoot it as much as possible to force it to get health, leaving the human team an opening ot run to the objective.

    Carnos

The Carnotaurus is a big threat to groups of humans, especially in Get to the Chopper. If you know how to deal with them, they aren’t as big of problems though. Carnos are big and have a lot of health, but not as much as Tyrants. Unlike Tyrants, they are very fast and can ram you and send you flying. When a Carno is charging at you, stand still until it gets too close, then quickly jump out of the path of the charge, kind of like what a bull fighter would do. Against a good Carno player, sometimes you can stay still and catch them off guard, as they may expect you to dodge it’s charge and attack to the side. If a Carno is trying to walk around and bite you, try to stay behind it so it can’t bite or head swing you. They can’t turn well without jumping so use this to your advantage, All the humans have effective weapons to deal with Carnos. However, trapper nets only block them from biting, so use your dual pistols instead. When a Carno attacks you, stay away from cliffs or other things you can be flung off of.

    The Dinosaur Team

The Dinosaurs the second team in Primal Carnage, and are the main reason you buy this game, so this guide will help you master these scaly monsters. This guide will walk through each class, and also help you with playing on each game mode and killing each particular human class.

    Dinosaur Basics

Always use the element of surprise. If you can even get a little bit of damage on a human before it notices you, you are already ahead in the fight. Don’t try to engage a human head on, this will result in you losing health before you even get in range to damage them.

Humans stay in groups for the most part, so don’t try to bite off more than you can chew. Don’t jump into a group of humans alone unless you know at least one of them is low on health. If so, finish the human off then get the ♥♥♥♥ out of there.

Since humans have to resupply health and ammo at crates, they leave themselves very easy targets if they go to get health or ammo. Use this to your advantage.

Like playing as a human, when you are engaged in combat never stand still. Even with a Dinosaur like a Carnotaurus, a target that is sprinting and jumping is more diffficult to kill than a motionless one.

This is very important for Dinosaurs. Unless you are a Tyrant, always count your hits. It is very helpful to know how much more damage you need to inflict on a human to kill them.

Every Dinosaur has a roar ability that can be used by pressing q.

Like humans, you need to press e to heal, but you do it at the carcass instead of a health box.

Stamina is like a Dinosaur’s ammo, so try not to use all your stamina before you engage in combat. Your stamina is crucial to you.

    The Pteranodon

The Pteranodon is a very difficult class to learn, but it is also one of the most rewarding. A good Pteranodon can turn the tide of a match.

    Abilities
    • The Pteranodon’s first attack is it’s peck. The peck is a 3 hit kill on a human, but there are glitches to peck two or three times at once, dealing more damage. This attack is best used on groups of humans that are already distracted, because you can swoop in and deal damage without risking a grab.
    • Your main source of kills as a Pteranodon is your grab. For the most part, you want to grab only singular humans, as one point of damage will make you lose your kill. If multiple people are distracted however, you can get away with a swift grab and drop down a cliff or in the water. Make sure you fly high, then dive down while sprinting to gain speed, and maximize your speed while you are holding the human. When you have a human, try to fly behind buildings or trees to make it more difficult to shoot you, always while holding space bar to fly higher to drop the human to their death. Make sure that you have a lot of stamina when you grab somebody. If you run out of stamina, you will drop the human.
    • The Pteranodon’s roar marks all nearby humans like radar, so this is extremely good support for your Dino team. It also regenerates fast, so whenever you see somebody you don’t think you can’t kill yourself, always mark the human so your teammates know where they are.

    The Raptor

The Raptor is easily the favorite class among Primal players, but most people don’t know how to use them correctly.

    Abilities
    • The Raptor’s main attack is it’s slash, which is a 4 hit kill on humans. When fighting a human, make sure you never take your hand off of shift. Even if you stop sprinting for a couple seconds you are an easier target. Raptors are very fast and agile, so make sure you sprint and jump around as much as possible while slashing a human. Staying very close to the human will also make it more difficult for them to aim at you and get a good shot off. These tactics will make you much harder to hit. Your high jumping will also give you access to higher places, where you can ambush people from. When attacking a group, pick one target, then kill it and flee before you die.
    • The second attack of the Raptor is the pounce. Many noobs use this attack, but it is purely just a trap. I can’t stress this enough, never pounce. Even though that human may look like it’s alone, somebody can spawn nearby, or somebody can shoot you from long range. While pouncing, you leave yourself completely motionless and a very easy target. One shot will knock you out of your pounce, and you will most likely die if you get caught while pouncing.
    • The Raptor’s roar ability is it’s frenzy. This will drain all your stamina, but make you bite faster and give you the ability to kill people faster. Like the pounce, this is kind of a noob trap but it can actually be effective. For the most part, you shouldn’t frenzy at all, because it leaves you an easy target because you can’t sprint or jump. However, if the humans are distracted this can be devestating, but only under the right conditions. It can also potentially come in clutch in a Get to the Chopper match and win you the game.

    The Dilophosaurus

The Dilophosaurus is easily the most under powered class in the game, but don’t let that fool you. In the right hands, these little guys can be very helpful.

    Abilities
    • The main way a Dilophosaurus deals damage is it’s bite. Normally, the bite is an 8 hit kill on a human, but if you spit on them it is a 4 hit kill. Never bite unless you spit on them first.
For the most part, biting as a Dilo is like slashing as a Raptor, but far more difficult because you are much slower, have less health and stamina, and don’t jump as high. Try not to bite groups of people unless you know they are already weakened.
    • The thing that makes the Dilo stand out is it’s spit. The Dilo is very useful as a sort of team support with it’s spit, as it blinds the humans for a short period of time and deals a bit of damage. The Dilo’s spit is a great way to weaken a group of humans camped up together. You can also use the spit more aggressively, blinding humans first then jumping in and finishing them off with your bite while they are spat on to increase your damage output. In Get to the Chopper especially, good spit support can really change the way a match goes.
    • The Dilo’s roar ability allows it to spit twice before roaring again, and you can crouch to go into a shoulder view to help spit at humans from far away. You should roar right when you spawn so you can be ready to attack when you first see somebody. Keep in mind that you can’t spit without roaring first.

    The T-rex

This thing is a monster. It may be pretty over powered, but that doesn’t mean you are unstoppable. A good human squad can make short work of you.

    Abilities
    • The attack you will use most of the time is the bite. This is an instant kill on human, and it also recovers a good amount of health when you eat somebody. When engaging a human in combat, sprint first to catch up to them, (you are faster on a straight path) but when you get within biting range, stop sprinting so you can turn and move around better. Keep in mind that you can’t reach humans when they are in most buildings. Unless you surprise them when they are close to the door, don’t even bother trying to attack humans when you can’t reach them. You will just take unneeded damage and be forced to flee and to the carcass for health. Also, it is very important to know that you can move your head up and down with space and ctrl. Moving your head will allow you to bite humans in higher places, and when they are closer to you.
    • The other attack the Rex has is it’s trample. You don’t even have to click to do this. You just walk on them and get a kill. Even though it is pretty ammusing, try to use this as little as possible because it doesn’t give you health back like with your bite.
    • The T-rex’s roar ability gives nearby Dinosaurs an armor buff, so use this often. If the human team is camped up where you can’t reach them, roar to help your your teammates take them out. Not to mention it sounds badass.

Just another tip, the game says you have 2,000 health, but you take half damage from everything as well so it is like you have 4,000.

    The Spinosaurus

The Spinosaurus is the GTTC counterpart to the T-rex. However, it is even more strong with more health, a longer bite range and a new attack.

    Abilities
    • Like the T-rex, the Spinosaurus has the bite and trample attacks, and it’s roar does the same thing. Refer to the T-rex guide to know how to use these. However, keep in mind that the Spino takes longer to swallow people than the T-rex, so you can’t eat people at as fast of a pace.
    • The Spinosaurus has a new attack which is its claw swipe. (also known as a ♥♥♥♥♥ slap) This is very useful for killing people that are on the sides of you where you can’t reach them with your mouth or feet. It is very important to know that you can slash while you eat a person.
This will help you kill groups of people much more quickly. However, biting should be your main way to kill people because slashing doesn’t regenerate health.

Tip: Like the T-rex, the Spino takes half damage from everything. So even though the game says 2,500 health, it’s like you have a massive 5,000.

    The Carnotaurus

My personal favorite Dinosaur in the game, the Carno is a power house, but a lot of people don’t know how to use it.

    Abilities
    • The Carno’s most powerful attack is it’s charge. You can do this by sprinting and just walking into somebody. The damage lowers with how slow you are going, but at full speed it is a 2 hit kill on humans. However, this shouldn’t really be your main attack. It’s a great way to get damage on the humans, but the hit and run tactic that many newer players use doesn’t work that well. A very important thing to know about playing Carno is to always jump if you want to turn. The Carno turns very slow, especially off of a sprint, so jumping and turning around in mid air is much more effective.
    • The primary attack of the Carno is it’s bite. The bite is a 3 hit kill on a human. The bite is best to finish off people after you charge them, but you can get kills without charging at all. A very difficult but crucial thing you have to learn how to do as a Carno is what I call bite-charging. To do this, you need to be sprinting at a human. You then need to slow down, then bite the human and press shift at the same time. This will allow you to deal damage equal to a charge and a bite at the same time.
    • The Carno’s last attack is it’s head swing. This attack is very weak, but I don’t remember the amount it takes to kill somebody. For the most part, don’t use this attack at all. It can be helpful if you need to knock somebody out of a building and corner, or if you want to whack somebody into the water. Keep in mind that it is a very slow attack, and leaves you pretty exposed to be shot at. It also uses a little bit of stamina.
    • The Carno’s roar makes it so your attacks inflict less damage, but you gain health every time you do damage to somebody. Personally, I never use it, but I’ve seen many good Carno players put this to great use. It’s basically personal preference if you want to use it or not.

    Beating the Humans

This section will now give you guidelines on beating each human class.

    Commandos

For the most part, dealing with these guys isn’t that difficult. As a Ptera you are basically safe from any Commando, as it is very difficult for them to shoot you down. For Raptors and Dilos, your biggest problem are the grenades. They can potentially one shot you, so make sure to dodge them when you are approaching them. In close range, the only damage they can do to you is their machine gun, besides a lucky direct hit grenade. Commandos are very effective for taking down Tyrants, so if 3 or 4 of these guys are shooting at you, it’s best to run. However, a lone commando is as easy as any other human. Carnos aren’t really different. Just stay away from the grenades, and you will most likely be fine.

    Pathfinders

These guys are dangerous. The shotgun will do a ton of damage at close range, which is where you have to attack them. As a Ptera, the shotgun doesn’t have enough range to shoot you out of the sky. However, when you swoop down to grab or peck somebody, make sure they don’t see you, because they can potentially one shot you when you get close. As a Raptor or Dilo, make sure you never attack them head on. Start from behind them, and always keep out of the line of sight as much as possible. A good tactic I use sometimes is repeatedly jumping around and dodging until they fire all their shells, then attacking when they have to reload. However, in many cases, like GTTC, you won’t have enough time to do this. As a Dilo, try not to engage close range because they have the obvious advantage there. Stick to long range spitting until it gets distracted or very weakened. For Tyrants, dealing with them is very cut and dry, but just keep in mind that they can deal a ton of damage if you don’t manage to eat them. For a Carno, these guys are by far the most difficult to deal with. Don’t charge at a Pathy if it is looking at you. Run away and get cover and wait until you can surprise him. Getting any damage off before he knows you are there is critical. Bite-charging works great for this. In close quarters, basically just jump around until you get enough bites on him for the kill.

    Pyros

A good Pyro is difficult to kill. First, if you see one of those pyro corner campers when you are a Raptor or Ptera, don’t even bother. As a Ptera, they have literally no way to kill you unless you swoop down at them. When you do this, you can never dive head on. If you get on fire, the DOT will prevent you from grabbing anybody. Good Pyros are very hard to deal with as a Raptor. Like with all humans, try to sneak up on them. Keep out of the path of the flames as much as possible, and stay behind them or to the sides as much as possible. They can only chainsaw you if you are right in front of them. If a Pyro sees you from a distance and pulls out his grenades, they are very easy to dodge. It’s even easier than dodging Commando grenades. However, if you are distracted one grenade will take you out. As a Dilo, never fight a Pyro in close range unless you know for a fact it is low on health. Stay far away and spit. When he pulls out his grenades, just dodge them. Pyros literally can barely touch Tyrants, so there is no point going through this. As a Carno, make sure you avoid the grenades. When in close quarters, keep some distance until you go in to attack. This will prevent you from being chainsawed. The fire barely does anything to Carnos, so just worry about the grenades and chainsaw.

    Scientists

A skilled Scientist can be very difficult to kill, so beware. As a Ptera, moving is the best way to not get sniped out of the sky. It doesn’t matter what you do, just don’t stay still. When closing in on a target, make sure she isn’t looking at you while you dive in for the kill. She will blow your brains out. As a Raptor, they are basically just like dealing with Pathfinders, but less difficult. As a Dilo, avoid long range spitting. One bullet from her sniper rifle will kill you. stay hidden until you can sneak up on it, then blind her. After she is blinded, either flee or go in for bites depending on your distance from her. As a Tyrant, it is the same as everybody else. But, if you start getting tranqed, run and hide behind something. If you get tranqed enough you are basically a free kill. As a Carno, it is basically the same as a Pathfinder, except that you should try to stay out of sight at long ranges.

    Trappers

A trapper can ruin your day as any small Dinosaur. When playing as a Ptera, do not try to attack anybody near a trapper that sees you and has his net gun out. You will get netted and killed. At longer ranges, watch out for their pistols as they are effective at shootign Pteras out of the sky. As a Raptor, make sure they fire their net before you go in to attack. You can hear when they shoot their net, so you can dodge until they have to reload the net gun. At this point, they will either try to gun you down with dual pistols or reload the net gun. You can get a ton of damage in if either of these happens. If he reloads his netgun before you kill him, just repeat the process. As a Dilo, it is virtually the same as with a Raptor, but it is more difficult to avoid the nets. For the most part, sit back and spit, then jump in and finish him off with bites when he is weakened. Trappers can’t really do any damage to a Tyrant. But, if they net your head, it will prevent you from eating people and regaining health, so keep that in mind. If you are netted and a group of people are shooting you, run away and attack when you get unnetted. As a Carno, netting will disable your biting, so try to dodge their nets. If you get netted, try to flee and come back when you break free. If you aren’t netted, the only thing Trappers can do to you is shoot you with their pistols.

    Tips for Team Deathmatch.

The humans will most likely camp up in buildings and other cozy places, so patience is the key. Wait until humans get distracted or one human wanders off a bit to attack.

Another very important thing is that health boxes are friends. The humans have to leave themselves easy prey, and leave the group, if they want health or ammo. This results in easy kills for you.

Another way health benefits the Dinos is that it doesn’t regenerate. You can wait for your Dino teammates to weaken some humans, then run in and clean up.

When in doubt, go back to the carcass. Health is very very very useful to have, so it is best to have as much as possible at all times. You can’t hurt yourself for taking some time to heal back to full health.

Tips for Get to the Chopper

Sometimes you can break the rule of attacking groups of humans by yourself. When the capture progress is still alive and you need to prevent the humans from getting back on the point, do anything you can to slow them down. You don’t even need to attack, just jump around and distract them. Sacrificing yourself is sometimes necessary.

Always check the flank routes. Before playing Dinosaurs, make sure you know all the ways the humans can get to the objective. Make sure you actively check if the humans are trying to sneak around.

Only go to the carcass when you know that no people are coming. If you heal while people are pushing to the objective, it makes it difficult to take that ground back from the humans.

When playing as a Ptera in GTTC, roar as much as possible. I can’t stress how important marking the humans are to your teammates. Marking humans on flank routes is also a must.

    Spino in GTTC

Many people in GTTC don’t know how to use the Spino correctly at all. I will go into more detail on the map breakdowns, but here are some guidelines

    • Go to the carcass as little as possible. Going to heal at the carcass gives the humans a big window to push to the objective.
    • Eat as many people as possible. Eating people is needed to gain your health back without having to go to the carcass.
    • Never charge into a huge group head on. This is ok if there isn’t many people in the server, but a whole human team can burn through your health. When losing a lot of health, flee, then eat an easy targest to replenish health, then engage the group again after the other Dinos pick some of them off.

    Airbase

    Tips for Humans
    • The helipad might seem like a nice place to hang out, but do not go there. There is no cover for humans on the helipad, and it will leave you completely exposed. Meanwhile, the Dinosaurs can use the cover of darkness and the foliage to hide themselves from you.
    • The places you want to go are near the crashed plane and the fenced in area near the carcass. Both of these areas are near health and ammo, and they provide decent cover from T-rexes.
    • Keep in mind that the plants hide the Dinosaurs, but they can also hide you.
    Tips for Dinosaurs
    • The surroundings on this map are very good camoflogue. The darkness and the foliage can cover up even a Carno. If you have any, use dark skins to blend in more.
    • The amount of buildings make it very good for raptors. There are many places for raptors ot ambush people on this map.

    Docks TDM

    Tips for Humans
    • This map is a very good human map. The many campable spots make T-rexes less of a threat.
The sandbags and the platform with the ladder are good areas, but your main focus should be to get to the bunkers in the back of the map. Those bunkers are the best place for humans to be.
    • The water is bad. Pteranodons can easily pick you off if you are near the water’s edge. If you are on the boat, pouncing raptors can easily sneak up on you.
    • There are lots of little tricks to escape tyrants on this map. There are a ton of little places that can really help you escape death.

    Tips for Dinosaurs
    • T-rexes are significantly less effective on this map than on others, but that doesn’t make it bad. Stick to the open areas in the middle of the map. Many people spawn here and there is little cover to escape.
    • Docks is Pteranodon paradise. There is so much water to quickly drop humans into, and the many buildings give cover to block you from gunfire while you carry people away.
    • The many buildings are very good vantage points for Raptors and Dilos. Use them to your advantage.
    • Carnos can also dominate on this map in general.

    Docks GTTC

    Human Tips
    • On the first point, Pteras are a big issue, so stick together and watch out for them while you cross the bridges.
    • On the second point, make sure you open both gates before going to the objective. This will make capturing it much easier.
    • On the last point, you should always try to lower the bridge. Doing this will make capturing the chopper point so much more simple. Only skip this if your human team is runnign out of time.
    • If the Spino is too big of an issue, there are many places for snipers to weaken and tranq the Spino from, so use this to your advantage.
      Dinosaur tips
      • Pteras will destroy on the first point, but make sure you have a lot of non-Ptera players. If they manage to get to the point when the majority of the team are Pteras, they will most likely capture it.
      • On the second point, try to ambush the people from behind the vehicles and other obstacles, and on top of buildings. This will help a lot.
      • On the last point, Pteras are also very good. The water lets you kill people efficently, and you can also mark people for the Spino.
      • Whatever you do on the last point, do not let the humans lower the bridge. This will make defendingthe point extremely difficult.
      • When playing Spino, use the crates to your advantage. Hide behind them to surprise attack, and you can use them as a shield against a group of people shooting at you, especially from snipers.

    Downpour

    Human Tips
    • I know it’s a glitch and all, but on the first point, use the glitch rocks. They will make capturing the first point easy when normally it would be a real pain.
    • On the secon point, use the spawn building for the third point to your advantage. If you and some other people can sneak in that building, restock on health, then go to the objective, it will make it a lot easier to capture.
    • For humans, the last point is terrible. Whatever you do, do not try to go straight to the point. The trees can cover you up when you go on flank routes that are on the sides. Also, do not sit on that platform for a long time, it achieves nothing.

    Dinosaur tips
    • The second the game starts, run to the first point. The humans will most likely get there first, so you need to go as fast as you can.
    • The second point is pretty difficult for the Dinos to defend, but Pteras can destroy on the bridge, and the other Dinosaurs can hide behind the rocks.
    • On the last point, make sure you actively cover all the possible routes. I cannot stress enough how important this is.
    • While playing as Spino, do not sit back in the open area near the heli pad. This leaves you exposed to get shot at. Go into the trees near the spawn, and ambush people from behind rocks. You can also use the jungle as an escape.

    Forest Chasm

    Human Tips
    • The bridges on this map are like the helipad on Airbase. Do not go here. It leaves you exposed while the Dinosaur can ambush you. There is also a very high chance you will fall of when battling Dinosaurs.
    • This map has literally nowhere to hide from T-rexes. The best you can do is stay away from it at all times, and play ring around the rosey with it around trees and rocks.
    • The best places to group up are any places near health and ammo. No spots are good on this map so there isn’t much point to staying in one place.

    Dinosaur Tips
    • Whoever gets the T-rex on this map will get a ton of kills.
    • Pteras thrive here because you can drop people down into the chasm, and use the trees and cliffs as cover while you carry people away.
    • There are a ton of ambush places for Dinosaurs on this map. Raptors and Dilos can really capitalize on this.

    Marsh

    Human Tips
    • This is probably the worst map for humans in the whole game. Like Forest Chasm, there is almost nowhere to hide from T-rexes besides playing ring around the rosey.
    • If there is one thing The Lost World taught us, it is that you should never go into the tall grass. This is easily the worst place to go on this map.
    • There are some open areas you can group up on this map, but uness the human team is substantially better than the Dino team the group wont last long.

    Dinosaur Tips
    • This is the worst Ptera map in the whole game, so it’s best you don’t even bother playing as it.
    • If the humans go into the tall grass for some reason, It is basically free kills for the Dinosaur team.
    • T-rexes are possibly even better on this map than on Forest Chasm.
    • Raptors and Dilos really appreciate the foliage on this map. There are so many places to surprise humans from. Even Carnos can hide on this map.

    Ruthless

    Human Tips
    • On every objective there are two different routes to get the the point. Always use these flank routes. They can really help humans pull off a win.
    • Sniper support is really good on this map. The open environment gives Scientists very good shots from long range.
    • On the last point, You need to use the bridge. If you don’t the Spino will just have a feast.

    Dinosaur Tips
    • All the hills and open space on this map increase visibility for the Dinosaurs a lot. Use this to your advantage and you will never get caught off guard.
    • Pteras thrive on this map. The amount of cliffs make it really easy to pick off people, and the unlevel terrain makes it so you can fly less to get to death height for when you drop people. As always, marking is very helpful too.
    • On the last point, you must defend the bridge. If nobody defends the bridge humans will win a lot easier.
    • When playing Spino, you need to defend the main route. Tell the other Dinosaurs to defend the bridge. Your only cover as a Spino on this map is the tower next to the heli pad, so it is a good tactic to wait behind this.

    Snowbound

    Human Tips
    • The fog on this map makes it difficult for the Dinosaurs to spot you unless they have a Ptera marking you. You can use the low visibility to travel arund for health and ammo.
    • The open area on the hill is a very good place to go. Even though you generally don’t want to be exposed, this spot provides health, ammo, good visibility, and an escape route on the cliff.
    • Watch out for Rexes. They are very hard to kill on this map, but not impossible. You can hear their roar on this map from far away because it echoes.

    Dinosaur Tips
    • Pteras are good on this map. Just like Ruthless, the hills make it so you can get to death height faster when you grab people. Humans on the cliff can also be taken care of by Pteras. Marking is also needed, because humans are difficult to find on this map.
    • You can also use the low visibility to your advantage. Any Dinosaur (well, not a T-rex) can hide on this map.
    • This map benefits Carnos a lot. It seems like the map is made out of trails that the Carno can just charge through and inflict a lot of damage on people.
    • As with most of these low visibility maps, Raptors and Dilos can take advantage.

    The Falls TDM

    Human Tips
    • Like on Snowbound, the dense cover definately helps humans travel around the map. Getting health and ammo is relatively easy.
    • The area near the two rivers of death is a great spot for humans. It provides health and ammo, and you can dodge Rexes with the crates and the river openings in the walls of the dome.
    • For the most part, sitting inside the dome is death. Stay in it for as little as possible. If you can’t get out of it, just hide in all the plants.
    • It may look tempting, but don’t go on the big pointy rock. If a team of humans camps on pride rock (what I call it) and one Carno charges up it, everybody dies.
      Dinosaur Tips
      • If you are a T-rex, staying in the dome guarantees you a lot of kills. So many people spawn there, and they are all helpless from T-rexes.
      • It is fun and effective to drop people down the rivers as a Ptera, but you or your team don’t benefit from it because the game counts it as suicides instead of your kills.
      • The crates and plants are very good to ambush people. You can have the whole Dinosaur team near the humans and they wouldn’t even know.

    The Falls GTTC

    Human Tips
    • You must know that on the first point there are two ways to get into the dome. Each one is near each one of the battery points, so you can capture them easier.
    • The battery points are your friends. Even after they are already captured, staying there protects you from the pesky Spino, and there is also health and ammo nearby. After both battery points are captured, you can use them as a sort of checkpoint to get to the objective.
    • On the second point, make sure you kill the Spino. Killing the Spino makes capturing the point so much easier, and on the last point it can potentially glitch out of the dome.
    • The last point is difficult, but definitely not impossible. Make sure you bring the whole human team when attempting to capture the point. Don’t get distracted by stray Dinosaurs either. Keep moving.

    Dinosaur Tips
    • When playing as a Spino, you should never walk right up to the dome entrance and try to eat people. You will either die or be forced to run back to the carcass. Neither of these are good. As a Spino, it is best to wait behind the rock next to the first battery point. When the humans get far enough away from the exit, you attack.
    • It is very important to not forget about the second entrance to the dome. Make sure a good portion of the Dinosaur team defends this.
    • On the second point, wait on the outside of the dome (unless you are Spino) among all the crates. The crates are great ambush spots.
    • While playing as Spino on the second point, wait behind the rock next to the carcass. You will be able to see all the ways to get for humans to get to the objective.
    • On the last point, keep in mind that the crates are still great ambush places. Waiting behind pride rock is also a good strategy
    • Pteras help tremendously on the last point as well. Since the helipad is on the edge of a cliff, they can dart in and grab people left and right. Marking is helpful too.

    Utility Base

    Human Tips
    • This is the most human favored map in the whole game. There is a myriad of trick and places you can use to avoid being eaten by T-rexes.
    • As a human, stay inside the base. If you run around in the forest you will probably get pounced.
    • The two best places to group up on this map are in the building in the middle of the map, and in the shed. There is health and ammo near both of them, and T-rexes can’t reach you there.
    • Sniper support is very good here. Sitting on the walls of the base and sniping Dinos is a very effective strategy because you can see them from far away.
    • Even though it looks like a good spot, don’t go on the roof. It leaves you super exposed to Pteras and Raptors, and you have to jump down to get health and ammo.

    Dinosaur Tips
    • If you are a T-rex, it is best to stay outside the base. Staying in the base for long periods of time results in you repeatedly having to run and get health. If you stay outside the base, you can eat people when they spawn in the jungle.
    • Raptors and Dilos love this map. All the buildings provide great ambushing spots and vantage point. The humans also like to camp on this map, so Dilo spit is greatly appreciated.
    • The Carno isn’t as good on this map as it is on other maps, but it is still very useful. If the humans are camping in the little shed, you can run in and and charge a ton of people. People that aren’t in the buildings yet are also easy prey for Carnos.

    Conclusion

I hope you all enjoyed this guide, and I really hope that this helps some people out. I know quite a bit of this stuff is common sense, but I feel like a lot of this can help the new players that are all over the place now. This took me almost 6 hours to make so I hope you people like it.
