Introduction the the Ikko Ikki Clan.
The Ikko Ikki, the “single-minded league”, are inspired by their faith, Jodo Shinshu Buddihsm, the “true pure land”, a sect found by the monk an philosopher shiran. Unlike other Buddhist monks, Shinran married and many of his descendants have been the high abbots, or monshu, of the sect since. Rennyo, the most influential and persuasive of the high abbots, led his sect to echizen after the Jodo Shinshu temple in omi province was destroyed as a nest of heritics by tendai monks. Despite this setback, Rennyo has made Echizen and Kaga provinces into strongholds of his faith. While largely a movement of peasents, Inspired by a vision of paradise to create that paradise on earth, the ikko ikki are not without military skills. Members of the shimozuma clan have acted as advisers and commanders of the ikko ikki. Shimozuma Rensu was, for example, a staunch supporter of the movement, and a military adviser to Rennyo. Rennyo professed a belief in non-violent action, but not in being defenceless. This explains why the Ikko Ikki can recruit can recruit superior warrior monks, and large, relatively cheap ashigaru (peasent) units. The monks spread their faith; the people believe. The Ikko Ikki also rely on their appeal with the common people to spread the word and dissent into other lands. This makes them a threat to the established order of the great clans and their lords. A religious republic offers many attractions to the downtrodden, but not to the already mighty. Wherever they turn the Ikko Ikki are likely to be opposed by the clans, and welcomed by the people, assuming the word is spread carefully first
Ikko Ikki Campaign Traits
The Ikko Ikki clan is a very good clan to start off with as you automaticlly
get a bonus to the number of troops per unit. Normally with other clans
an Ashigaru unit will have 120 troops however an Ikko Ikki will have 180
The equation is
N=Normal Troops
M=Ikko Ikki Troops
N/2+N=M or 120/2+120=180
This is an azmazing trait as no other clan has it. The clan can also recruit
superior Monks such as Ikko Ikki Nagitina Warrior Monks
You can also convert enemy province into your faith using your generals. There is a
downside though, for all these amazing traits the Ikko Ikki cannot recruit metsuke but
with all the other amazing traits this really would not help you that much

Become Shogun and capture 25, 50 or all provinces. These provinces must include:
Echizen, Kaga, Mino, Omi, Settsu and the shogun stronghold Kyoto. Extra Tip,
Capturing Kyoto is probably the easist doing the Ikko Ikki campaign because the 2
starting provinces are situated only 1 province away from kyoto, This makes capturing
kyoto a quick task but by no means simple; also because of the 2 starting provinces
you can recruit 2 units a turn making it 2x faster than other campaigns.
Military Units
Guide to All The Special Ikko Ikki military units
Loan Sword Ashigaru
These sword units are very good in hand on hand combat however against any average
cavalry they will not compete well unlesss in numbers also because of there demoralising
armour skill they are not very good when facing onslaught by bow. Even though these
defects may make the unit looks diminishing the fact that this unit is a starter and it
has 10 Melee attacks allows it to win battles head on when facing all other starter units
and some samurai units. This unit is best equipped for defending castles because it has
very high attack damage and medium morale. This unit also has low armour however the
castle walls will defend this unit when under fire by bow units. This unit also has a very
small fee for recruitment and upkeep allowing players starting the campaign to use
effectively
These are the exact units statistics
Katana Ronin
This unit if not clearly is a upgraded version of the Loan Sword Ashigaru. Much like
the Loan Sword Ashgaru they all have a single sword and are very high in Melee
attack and Morale however unlike the Loan Sword Ashigaru they have now got a
reasonable amount of armour making them much more resistance to bow and
arrow attacks. They still do have no bonus against cavalry so try to avoid a head
on cavalry charge. Much like the Loan Sword Ashigaru their best position is manning
the walls when a seige occurs, With their super high melee attack (one of the best in
the game) they are amazing when defending.
Their exact Stats
Ikko Ikki Nagitina Warrior Monk Hero
These all out soilders are some of the best in the game, With their High Attack, Charge
ability, Defence and Super high morale of 45!! These units are amazingly versititle,
they can take on nearly all units in combat and normally coming out victorious. These
Units best position is leading the head on charge; with their super morale they can
suffer serious casualties and still maintain fighting. These units have a very good Bonus
on Calvary also so they are very good in defending against cavalry charges. These units
are natural born leaders because of their leadership abilities. However this unit does
cost a hefty sum of 1700 gold and a regular upkeep of 200 making this unit very
expensive early game. It also makes it very difficult to sustain a large amount of these
units mid game.
Abalities
Hold Firm: Temporarly increases defence and stops morale from drooping,
making this unit and up to three others unbreakable for a short amount of time
Warcry: Demoralises up to 4 nearby enemy units and also dropping their defence
making them vunerable for a short amount of time
The exact stats
Ikko Ikki Nagitina Warrior Monks
These normal variations of the Nagitina Warrior Monk Hero’s have the same stats
but slightly lowered, mainly the morale which is only a third of what the hero has
however this unit is now only 900 recruitment cost but still has the hefty 200 upkeep
cost.
Abalities
Warcry: Demoralises up to 4 nearby enemy units and also dropping their defence
making them vunerable for a short amount of time
The exact Stats
Ikko Ikki Marathon Monk
This super fast monk varation unit is perfect for cavalry and infrantry attacks. With
its high melee defence and attack it is very good when facing yari infrantry no matter
what level however this unit is weak against the average katana soilder so try to refrain
from using on katana units. Also with their low armour levels these units are not the
best for charging head first into an archers wake, this is because they have the low
armour rating of only 2. This unit however is faster then the average unit and also
fatigue resitant making it perfect for running long distances across battlefields.
This unit much like the Nagitina warrior monk has a high recruitment fee and upkeep
so try to not recruit many of these units early or mid game.
Abalities
Second Wind: Restores a pocket of stamina on nearby units allowing them to fight
harder for longer
Warcry: Demoralises up to 4 nearby enemy units and also dropping their defence
making them vunerable for a short amount of time
The exact stats
Ikko Ikki Yari Ashigaru
This is an upgraded version of the average yari ashigaru, with the low melee
attack, defense and armour it is not a very strong unit however it does come
into its own when facing cavalry with its high 20 bonus vs cavalry. This
unit is best fighting on the front line much like a pawn in a chess game with
its cheap 250 recruitment fee and 75 upkeep
exact stats
Ikko Ikki Bow Ashigaru
An upgrade to the normal bow ashigaru unit however it is still not very
powerful, it can however hold its own best when defending a castle.
It does also have a very cheap recruitment and upkeep fee. they
are dreadful in close combat with measly terrible stats. If you can use
any other unit in hand on hand combat try and do that
Exact Stats
Bow Ronin
These are an upgrade to the ikko ikki bow ashigaru units. This unit however
can actually handle itself in a hand on hand combat. This unit also has
high accuracy and reloading skill. These are the best units for defending a
castle out of all the special Ikko Ikki units. However they have a high 800
recruitment fee and a 150 upkeep cost.
Exact Stats
Ikko Ikki Matchlock Ashigaru
Much like the Ashigaru Bow unit this units is absolutly terrible in hand to
hand combat so try to refrain from using it in hand on hand combat
however because of matchlocks it is very good at defending but it
can take a long time to get this unit as it is very late game
Exact Stats
Matchlock Warrior Monks
This unit is very good at defending castles other then that it is not very good. This
is because matchlocks normally need an elevated posistion to shoot its enemies
making castle walls the best place whilst on flat ground only one line of units can
shoot. It does have a high recruitment cost and upkeep fee it is also a very late game
unit
Abalities
Bamboo Wall: Can deploy a large wall which block unit movements and cavalry charges
Firing Range: Temporarly increases firing range for unit
Exact Stats
