This guide will explain everything there is to know about the character FISH and tactics and ways to play as him!
Introduction
Before i start off,i would like to point out that this guide will probably have some Spoilers for the game,if you do not want to be spoiled then stop reading this guide!
Some Back Story:
“Fish was a cop; he was one day from RETIREMENT when the apocalypse hit and changed him into a mutated fish.”
‘Fish is a versatile mutant that uses his high mobility and ammo income to outrun and outgun enemies. Because of his ability to dodge enemy FIRE or quickly hide behind cover and his significantly increased ammo income, Fish can be recommended for beginners.’
Fish is unlocked Automatically,meaning that the first time you load up Nuclear Throne,Fish will be immediately available from the start!
Features
Every character in nuclear throne is unique,every character has special passive and active ability’s,including Fish!
Passive Ability: Fish gets more ammo then others,For Example:
If fish picks up a Mini Ammo Chest and he collects bullets from it,instead of the usual 26 bullets,Fish will pick up 32 bullets!
Also fish starts off with 96 bullets instead of the usual 78 bullets.
Active Ability: Fish can Dodge Roll,which is really useful in stressful situations!
Fish can use he’s Dodge Roll to escape from enemy fire and to move quicker and that makes this ability one of the best in the whole game!
Fish’s dodge roll can be controlled with the movement keys and fish can also SHOOT while dodge rolling,pretty cool huh?
Fish Exclusive Mutations
Currently,all of the characters have a total of 3 Individual Mutations except Horror,which has 4.
Fish’s throne butt mutation Greatly Improves fish’s Roll Dodge.
Now a Strong Water Boost propels fish on his roll for as long as the active ability button is held down!
You can,again,change the direction you roll into with the movement keys but fish bounces off walls on contact so BE CAREFUL!
This also makes the roll dodge twice as fast but,as always,BE CAREFUL!
Now onto the ULTRA MUTATIONS FOR FISH!
Ultra mutations are gained by reaching the max level which is 10 and by reaching the portal.
Once in the portal,the player has a choice of 2 ultra mutations to choose from(Horror has a choice of 3 ultra mutations,instead of 2)
This Ultra Mutation is truly amazing and can really save you in tough situations,especially when combined with mutations such as Rabbit paw which increases the chance for item drops!
That means that as soon as you go into the next level,you can fire your weapons for 10 seconds without wasting 1 single Bullet!!!
This Ultra Mutation,combined with really strong and rapid fire weapons can be deadly,but remember,you can still DIE!!!
Strategy,Tips And Tactic’s For Playing As Fish
“Fish is easy to master with he’s ammo bonus,but mastering he’s Roll dodge might take a while” -Boss 2015
Mastering the dodge roll will take lots of practice and getting used to,so don’t act like this:
OMG,ITS SO USELESS,WHO WOULD USE IT
or like this:
WORST.ABILITY.EVER.
The dodge roll is an amazing ability and with enough practice you can master it and become the DODGE ROLL KING!
When playing as fish,i suggest you pick up these mutations if you see them along your journey:
Back Muscle: Increases the ammo capacity you can hold,and since fish gets more ammo,its really useful!
Rabbit Paw: More item drops….do i need to say more?
Throne Butt: As stated before,it can make you super hard to hit and you can move faster which greatly decreases time spend walking around from one destination to another.
Lucky Shot: Not a popular mutation,but a good one non the less! Because of the passive that fish has to gain more ammo,lucky shot actually gives more ammo to fish then other characters.
Basically,with all of these mutations together,you can never run out of ammo
Now onto the Worthless Tactic’s Useful tactic’s!
1)Don’t use the dodge roll for everything,you WILL regret it.
2)Don’t be afraid to pick up ammo consuming weapons,fish gets more ammo then others,but don’t go crazy.
3)I suggest you do not pick up throne butt unless you are absolutely confident you can control it and you are good with the dodge roll ability OR you just want to test it out for the first time OR you want to mess around.
