A Very Basic "Trenches" Guide for TrenchesWIP

A Very Basic “Trenches” Guide

Overview

Here I’ll be listing some simple “How-To’s” to get you started in the world of Trenches. As the game develops, I’ll continue to add and refine this guide. Many section will be place-holder/empty, but will be filled out as the information become public.

Starting Up

When you first load into the game, do not refresh the server list! This will require you to restart the game as refreshing will not let you see any servers. Click either host server or a server you want to join.

Knowing Your Hotbar

Knowing your hotbar can mean life or death, or a little bit of hassle to start with. Right now it goes as follows:

1= 1911 Pistol

2= Winchester M97 Shotgun

3= M1 Garand

4= Kar 98

5=Landmine

6=Pickaxe

Handheld Weapons

Currently as it stands there are 6 hand held weapons:

-1911 Pistol: Hotbar 1
8 round mag
Heavy recoil
start with 400 ammo
1.8 second reload time

-Winchester M97 Shotgun: Hotbar 2
start with 400 ammo
medium recoil
8 round mag
2.5 second reload time

-M1 Garand: Hotbar 3
5 round mag
small recoil
lots of ammo
start with 30 rounds

-Kar 98: Hotbar 4
5 round mag
small recoil
lots of ammo
start with 30 rounds

-Landmine: Hotbar 5
10 starting
300 damage
Damage radius of 800.0 cm

-Stielhandgranate Grenade: G Key
Crafted, zero starting
120 damage
Damage radius of 600.0 cm
Damage falls off linearly from center to edge of circle at 600 radii
(you have throw it very near to kill)

Crafting/Harvesting

The first thing you’ll want to do when attempting to craft is to gather resources. These come in three forms, iron, copper and steel. Iron and steel can be found all over the place, while copper can be found in only 2 places currently. To gather materials, you need to equip your pickaxe, which is 6 on your hotbar. Once you find a resource node, hold left click while looking at it. You will gain materials. Once you have mined for a while, go back to your main base and visit the Foundry. Here you can craft steel, engines, fuel, tires, and other components. Given the amount of people on the server, you may need to build the foundry itself first. To build steel for example, you would need to open your inventory by pressing “I” then dropping iron into the area, then going into the foundry and ordering the amount of steel you need. After that its as simple as building the requirements and making the parts the combining them to form a vehicle or ammunition.

Cars

There are 2 cars currently; a Jeep and a Combat Car
Jeep:

high top speed
lightly armored
single person

Combat Car:

medium top speed
room for 6, one driver, one gunner, 4 hanging on the sides
LMG mounted on top

Tanks and How to Make Them

There are currently three different tanks in the game, the KV-2, the Jagdpanther, and IS-3. Each type comes in a standard variant and a veteran variant. The veteran types offer better stats such as better handling, speed, and faster turret turning. They also have a orange/bronze color compared to the green/gray that the normal tanks.

KV-2:

Veteran KV-2

IS-3:

Veteran IS-3

Jagdpanther:

Standard tanks require:
iron=900
steel=100
copper=1
small engine=1

TOTAL:
iron=1665
copper=1

Veteran tanks require:
iron=1500
steel=300
copper=30
large engine=1

TOTAL:
iron=2445
copper=40

In testing it takes roughly 3 mins without getting shot to gather enough for both a normal tank and a veteran one. With others in the game and more things to make, it will surely take longer.

Fixed Weapons

there are several types of fixed weapons in the game currently.
