Achievement Guide for The Escapists [NO DLC]

Overview

The easiest in-depth ways to earn all 19 achievements in the popular game “The Escapists”.

Grey Matters

Reach 100 intellect. Can easily be done in about 2 ingame days. Just go to Center Perks and spend all your time surfing the internet.

I Present To You

Give away 50 items. When everyone is eating you can just gift them all of the plastic knives, spoons, and forks. You can also steal people’s pillows and sheets and gift those as well.

Master Craftsman

Fill 13 or more pages in your crafting journal. This can take a while. but by just playing normally you will get this. Make sure to loot and buy crafting notes. Be aware that if you buy a crafting note and reload the day that progress won’t count.

Punch Drunk

Knocked out 50 inmates. Just go on unjustified sprees of rage and harm as many inmates as possible. Accept favors that involve beatdowns to get paid for it.

Favour Fave

Complete 100 favors. Accept every favor you can, no matter how difficult. Get some armor, a good weapon and some medkits to help.

Let’s Get Physical

Get your Strength and Speed stat to 100. Do what I said for Grey Matters except at the gym. Easiest on Center Perks, due to lots of free time and nearby showers.

Disrespect My Authority

Knocked out 50 guards. After you get your max speed and strength start laying out guards. Be careful, if 2 or more are knocked out a lockdown will initiate. Armor helps a lot, and take the guards weapons after knocking them out once.

Thug Life

Recruit 5+ buddies. To recruit a buddy, you press q (default) on them when their opinion of you is 80 or higher. To raise opinion, hand out lots of comb shivs and chocolate. Easy on Center Perks, as most inmates have a high opinion of you.

Butter Fingers

Drop the soap. In every prison you have a bar of soap in your desk. Simply keep it with you until the shower block period. Right click the icon of the soap while showering and you just got this hidden achievement.

The Monopoly Guy

Have $1000 or over on hand. Get the best possible job and complete lots of favors for other inmates. Raising opinions for inmates will earn you more money. Keep expenses as low as possible. Easy to get while aiming for Favour Fave.

Strip Searched

Strip 50 outfits from floored opponents. While going for Punch Drunk, simply take the prisoners outfits.You do not have to floor the opponent yourself. Be careful when stripping inmates, as the guards will yell at you for it.

Digging It!

Cleared a total of 50 tiles. This one can take some time. You have to shovel 50 tiles of dirt. By escaping San Pancho, you’ll most likely have to dig quite a bit, so that can help. Also you can just dig under your desk on Center Perks at lights out. Just have lots of chocolate.

Day One

Escape a prison on the first day. Here is the simplest way of doing it. You will need lots of luck. You wil need:
-Flimsy Cutters
—2 files, 1 duct tape
-Guard Outfit (from laundry job)
-Bed Dummy
—2 pillows, 1 bed sheet
-4 forks

First, attend rollcall for a few seconds before looting all of the desks. You are looking for duct tape and files. Go to breakfast and take 4 forks from the canteen. Look for favors (don’t accept ones that involve beatdowns) and keep an eye out for files and duct tape. Find 2 pillows at any given time, and 1 bed sheet from your cell. Craft a bed dummy and just keep it in your desk for now. In your free time scout for and complete favours, while searching sellers and bodies for files and duct tape. You will need to chip at a wall with forks below the rollcall area shown in this photo. When the wall is at 4%, stop. Get your intellect to 40 or higher. At your laundry job, get a clean guards outfit after your quota is met. Equip this outfit to make it through the contraband detector. Equip your prisoner outfit as soon as you pass it. Now all you need to do is find the files and duct tape if you haven’t already. Just keep searching for sellers. Go to evening rollcall for a few seconds, craft the flimsy cutters, put the bed dummy in your bed, and take the fork you had left from earlier and a guard outfit to the wall you chipped. At exactly 23:00, chip the wall one last time and equip the guard outfit. Head south until you reach the fence. Cut through it with the cutters and escape BEFORE midnight.

Clean Getaway

Escape a prison with 0% average heat. You will need the following:
-8 forks
-2 magazines
—2 posters, 2 duct tape
-Flimsy Cutters
—2 files, 1 duct tape
-Bed Dummy
— -2 pillows, 1 bedsheet
Make sure you do not beat anyone up, and always be where you’re supposed to be. Steal 8 forks from the canteen and start chipping at the walls shown in this photo(use bedsheets so guards don’t see). Wall “A” is where my guy is looking, and Wall “B” is where the cursor is in the photo. Chip those and cover the holes with magazines. It is important you buy mainly everything you’ll need, otherwise you risk gaining heat. If you decide to loot desks, carry bedsheets with you at all times to quickly cover up the cells. Acquire the 2 files and 1 duct tape to craft flimsy cutters. The night of the escape, put a bed dummy in your bed, bring your cutters and go through the holes you chipped in your cell, covering them back up when done. Walk outside at 23:00. Go to a fence north/northeast and cut it quickly. Walk out the prison and earn your achievement.

Note: You can restart a day if you gain heat and still get the achievement.

Way of the Dragon

Initiate a prison takeover using nunchucks. Here’s what you will need:
-Nunchucks
—2 timber, 1 wire.
-Plated Prisoner Outfit
—1 prisoner outfit, 1 sheet of metal, 1 duct tape.
-A loyal posse (optionial)
-Rope/duct tape

Get all of these materials however you wish. Then, during a meal, attack the guards (attack them before other guards arrive at canteen to make it easier) with nunchucks. Keep attacking every guard you see (don’t step outside yet) until you get a letter from the warden. Tie a guard or inmate and carry them to the main entrance, where you can simply walk out at the white door.

The Great Escapist!

Successfully escaped from all six prisons. Escape Center Perks, Stalag Flucht, Shankton State Pen, Jungle Compound, San Pancho, abd HMP Irongate. Jobsworth

Complete quota on every job. Available jobs:
-Laundry
-Kitchen
-Metal Shop
-Janitor
-Mailman
-WoodShop
-Gardening
-Tailor
-Deliveries
-Library

Most of these can be done on Center Perks and Stalag Flucht. Duct tape is handy for this, as you can tie up someone during working hours and take their job. Make sure your intellect is high enough and your heat is <50% to apply.

The Wet Bandit

Flood 30 toilets. Toilets can be randomly flooded just by flushing it with any item(s) in it. Best way is just to steal that persons sheet and pillow and flush those in their toilet on Center Perks. The items you place in the toilets do not in any way influence whether it will flood or not. It can flush 3 stepladders with no problems, but could flood due to a dental floss.

Never Be Alone Again

Attended 50 prison visits. There is visitation on Center Perks, on the left side in the prison. You have to have an NPC come and visit you 50 times. They will come just by you sitting on the visitation chair for a few seconds. Best way to get this is by quitting your job and do nothing other than prison visits, except for attending your schedule for a few seconds.
