Overview
A quick explanation on how to quickly rack up the minion dash kills you need to get the “Come at me bro!” taunt for ISIC.
“Come at me, bro!”
“Come at me, bro!” is one of three ISIC taunts as of post-launch for Battleborn. It can be acquired by completing the lore challenge “Ocoban Exploration Report”, which requires the player to kill 250 minions with plasma dash, ISIC’s ‘E’ ability. The challenge is annoying for one of two reasons: (1) you need to kill 250 minions with an ability that won’t instantly kill most mobs and (2) minions is not strictly defined as the robot minions as opposed to thralls or varelsi, which could arguably also be called minions in their own way. To set things straight, when they say minions they mean the robot minions you will often see in PvP or on select PvE missions, in particular The Algorithm. More specifically, I am pretty confident it only counts the small blade bots and gun bots, though it very likely also include boom bots as well if you get them before they explode. As it so happens, the name for the challenge is also aligned to the best place to get the achievement if you were paying attention: Fort Ocoban in The Algorithm, the first mission after the prologue.
Playing as ISIC, you can very easily rack up 250 plasma dash minion kills in the The Algorithm mission on solo. All it requires is patience, kiting, and a resistance to instantly blow up small minions at the get go.
HELIX RUN DOWN UP TO LEVEL 6
Tier 1 Watchfull Wards! 🙂 for improved kiting and survivability
Tier 2 This Might Sting! 😀 which you should never really use except against Ronin
Tier 3 Both Not Dyin’ Today! 🙂 or Chargin’ on the Go! 😀 are solid choices, depends on style
Tier 4 Line Up, Fellas! 😀 for increased group damage on minions, reduces challenge time
Tier 5 ALL SOLID CHOICES DEPENDING ON PLAYSTYLE
Tier 6 Let’s Hug It Out! (3 is an absolute necessity to cut back on time
I never reached past Tier 6 with ISIC fighting Geoff, which is where the strategy takes shape.
You can choose to plasma dash the small minions leading up to Geoff whenever you can if you want to, but for the most part you can just murder kill them all until you reach Geoff. Just as a tip, remember to pop your Wards and keep rotating your overcharge shots for maximum damage to get through to Geoff and do not be afraid to go turret mode for the Henchman boss or the bridge where there are alot of enemies.
Once you reach Geoff, you’ll want to damage him down as fast as possible for the first phase (not difficult on normal) and do the first fumigation in the room on the left where it’s hard for him to hit you. After successfully moving him into the second phase with the spider webbing and minions, STOP ATTACKING HIM AND ENGAGE THE KITE STRATEGY DESCRIBED BELOW.
Initially, he will launch one or two minions at a time, but soon he will start launching up to six minions at a time. You can kite these guys and plasma dash them or hit them with weak bolts from the cannon until they reach about 50% and do a single plasma dash, but I recommend the former to be absolutely sure. For the most part these will be blade bots and boom bots, the latter of which can be one shot with plasma dash. After a while the numbers start increasing and Geoff will continue dropping webbing everywhere near him, so the best position is actually as far away from him as possible near the entrance to the area. He will drop minions near you, but to be most efficient you’ll want to wait and corral them into a large enough grouping to plasma dash all at once. You will be able to keep this up for awhile since the only damage will come from minions weaker and slower than you are, but avoid having boombots blow up on your large groupings or you will lose them all. After awhile you will be able rack up all the minions you need because Geoff just keeps on firing them at you even while not taking damage. I do remember that he occasionally fired something my way, but for the most part this section is all about the minions, which are neverending. After awhile you’ll hit the challenge mark, you can kill him however you like and rush to the end of the mission to kill ISIC just to be safe.
In summary:
(1) Damage Geoff down to the first fumigation room event after starting the battle.
(2) Initiate first fumigation to reach phase 2.
(3) STOP ATTACKING HIM
(4) Place yourself near the entrance area away from the webbing
(5a) Kite minions into groups while whittling them down with charged cannon and finishing them off with a plasma dash (requires careful shooting)
(5b) Kite minions into groups and plasma dash repeatedly (adds time for CD)
(6) Repeat step 5a or 5b until challenge is completed
(7) Kill Arachnis…I mean Geoff
(8) You can leave immediately after accomplishing the lore challenge and skip having to do the rest of the mission. Credit goes to Sparky for testing this out.
Congratulations, after seemingly kiting bots fruitlessly for many minutes, your digital existence can now do the “Come at me, bro!” taunt at your victims in PvP until the heat death of the universe.
I hope this guide was helpful. I know some people were frustrated in the discussion pages and I thought it would help out!
