Acrocanthosaurus Hunting Guide

Overview

A Acrocanthosaurus hunting guide for the players who want to play as the Acro or those who are frequently playing as the Acro.

Out Dated

everything here is completely outdated info.

Information

Acrocanthosaurus was 38 ft in length and weight up to 6.2 tonnes (6.8 short tons) and was a Apex predator of the Early Cretaceous period and what makes it immediately ‬sticks out from other large theropods with its high dorsal spines than run from the neck to the tip of the tail. It’s cousins within the isle is Allosaurus[isle.wikia.com],Giganotosaurus[isle.wikia.com], and Carcharodontosaurus[isle.wikia.com] and with this said it is also part of the Bleeder Branch[isle.wikia.com] it hunted large prey like Paluxysaurus (Something like Puertasaurus) and it shared the environemnt with small predators like Deinonychus and hunt Anklyosaurus.

Hunting Style

Acrocanthosaurus was a BIG predator it was nearly the size Tyrannosaurus rex but lacked the “Biting Force” of T-Rex and it was a ambush predator because it wasn’t so big it had ambushing as a method to killing large prey so using the ambush mechanic will increase your chances of hunting and killing prey it will be hard to hunt because well in the isle Acro like his real life counterpart wasn’t fast it was not as fast as utah raptor or it’s cousin Allosaurus it was so it and you must rely on stalking and conserving “Stamina” like any other big hunter watching and learning your prey and staying out of sight.

So you are wondering if Acrocanthosaurus wasn’t fast how was it a successful hunter?
Answer: It like all bleeder branch dinosaur’s relied on the Run and Bite technique because why waste your energy just chasing when you can just bite and have them kill themselves by running?

it is not known 100% if Acrocanthosaurus was a pack hunter or not but it was a very dangerous in it’s own independent nature.

So remember you have 2 styles of playing as Acro
1. You can chase and waste your prey stamina to your own benefit because of how slow it was.

2. You can bite and run and have the prey kill itself on it’s own because staying in sight and trying to rest is not a good method of surviving a bite in-game.

Note: It DOESN’T have the same bleed level like Giga or Carcha so keep that in mind.

Combat Situations

(Should be taken into account Acrocanthosaurus was not faster than Allosaurus or a Carno nor was it more deadly as a Giga/Carcha in terms of bleed.)

Acrocanthosaurus players shouldn’t be facing off against threats like other big apex predators because it isnt as powerful as Rex or causes more bleed than Giganotosaurus or a tank like body of the Spinosaurus.

Facing anything like a allo or carno is the best beat for this Mesopredator of the isle it might be big but it isnt the top predator of the food chain like Rex,Giga, and or Spino this thing shouldn’t also face ankys, shants, trikes, and or large sauropods without a pack to back it up.

And since now Acro vs Acro is a concept if you are forced to “Cannibalize” your own species.

This predator is also more frequent and common to scavenge more than its cousins who are mostly big pack hunters.
