SteamOS 3.0 (codename: Clockwerk) will happen as stuff is being turned off packages wise for Stetch like backports etc.

From what I understand they are down to 1 solid Linux dev. according to this:

Pierre-Loup is still there yes, but jvert is gonne.

Since we know it is coming, as a small studio we want to have everything written for what will be, not what was and is now outdated and possibly broken.

Also, if you have AMD GPU you can do it all on Clockwerk without non-free! (in theory)

Concepts

Distro Upgrading can be a hot mess. We will try to add some sanity to it.
