Basic info
The Beefalo as you know them are peaceful. They gather in packs in the Savana Biome. Whenever a Beefalo is attacked, all of the other Beefalos will fight the attacker. During the “Mating Season” all beefalos will become hostile by default, they will regenerate during that time offscrean and at the end a “Baby Beefalo” will spawn.
Uses
Beefalos are great guardians: they will attack all hostile creatures including the hounds and if you will not aproach them during the “Mating Season” they are the best friends that you can have. They are a great resource of manure which the drop once in a while. Manure helps you can craft farms, fertilize crops, weed etc.
Drops
Beefalos can be shaved during the night, which causes them to drop Beefalo Wool. THey will regain their wool in a few days and after you can just shave them again. IF you kill a Beefalo, they will drop Meat, Wool and a 33% chance for Beefalo Horn.

The best way to fight a Beefalo is to find an alone one and use a spear (15 hits) / battle spear (10 hits) / tentacle spike (10 hits) to kill them. They are considered peacefull creatures so each kill will give you 4 naughtyness points.
