All Achievements Walkthrough Ported from TrueAchievements by SantaUndercover

Overview

A guide port from the TrueAchievements Walkthrough made by SantaUndercover and supervised by NicoleRenee00.

Why did you port it?

I’m no XBox player, but good lord those guides are beautiful. Didn’t see a decent walkthrough here, and got bored of searching it every time, so I made this port for me to get to this guide easily, and for you, the gamers who want to experience the entire game without the fear of messing up everything, or not knowing things. I think I would never have guessed everything if I didn’t use this guide, and so do many other gamers, so don’t worry, this guide will get you throught the game with all achievements and (hopefully) no deaths (and deletion of all your progress).

Quick reminder

I did most of the initial guide by myself, but…

I DIDN’T MAKE THIS WALKTHROUGH. THE OWNERS OF THIS WORK OF ASTONISHING GAMING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL ARE LISTED BELOW

What’s the game about?

Never played Kingdom? Forgot how to play? Don’t worry. This game is sure easy to learn, but difficult to master, as if nobody has ever say that before. The basics are: You are a monarch, and have to create, defend, and expand a Kingdom. This series of games evolved from this idea, so for this third game, the missions are an enhanced version of the 2nd game missions. The run will answer the remaining questions you have that aren’t covered here, and also the game itself gives you tutorials with a ghost to know the basics and the controls.
The main camp, fully upgraded, screenshot from Steam Page.

So..
You spawn on an island, with some coins laying in the grass as you approach a camp. This camp is the center of your Kingdom, as you will need to buy and upgrade most things from this place. From here, you will have to hire vagrants on the island, that spawn in other camps (not yours and definitely don’t look like yours), and make them work for 5 different jobs:

  • Archers: They defend you on the night and hunt animals on the day.
  • Workers: They build things, deforest, repair walls and help in specific defense and attack jobs.
  • Farmers: They make farms when there is a spot in an already bought stream, and will grow things that give coins. It’s the most profitable job until winter PepeLaugh. Also, they harvest berries in the winter.
  • Pikemen: They hide behind your walls and attack with their spears, on the day, they can hunt fish from the water below them.
  • Ninjas: If you haven’t open the game before, there’s 3 “skins” you can get to play in the main menu: The original, the Shogun (feudal Japanese style) and the Dead Lands (Bloodstained inspired dark gothic style). In the Shogun, the pikemen are replaced with ninjas, that will change clothing in the day to hunt fish, but in the night they will wear ninja’s clothings, and go hide in the bamboo forest. When the enemies pass, they will attack them with ranged shurikens and katana melees.
  • Squires: They will form a squad with archers and defend normally, until you give them 4 coins to make them attack the nearest enemy portal from their side of the main camp. They can be upgraded to knights, which do the same thing, but better.

Now that you have some people, you have to survive the greed (the enemies) attacks during the night and expand during the day to destroy the portals that appear in both sides of the island.

From your main camp, you have always two ends of the island, that can be in the left or the right randomly: the cliff portal (the bigger portal, hive of the greed) and the dock (that will help later, but isn’t necessary to get out of the island, unlike some more realistic 2nd game). You will also have to eventually leave the island, so you can get other upgrades that are on other islands, which needs the boat, that spawns in a crash state near the main camp.

The boat will have to be built part by part, for 2 coins each part. That’s when the dock comes handy, as if you have already destroyed the portals from the main camp all the way to the dock portal, you can build a lighthouse, that will make your boat never crash on that island when you come back, so no reconstruction (yes, the boat crashes every time you go to another island). The lighthouse also delays the decay, which is a countdown that starts when you leave an island, that will slowly destroy your kingdom.

So, now, the islands. There are 5 different islands that have different structures that have different functions. For each island, your kingdom begins from 0, but your progress will be saved for that island until you die OMEGALUL. When you build a boat on an island, the next will be unlocked, so building a boat on island 1 will not unlock island 3, but building a boat on island 2 will.

So what’s the main mission you may ask? Really could have say that in the beginning, but I have already written this far and It’s too much rewriting. So, Your mission is to eradicate the greed from each of the 5 islands, doing something which we will keep you spoilers free even in the run, using words like “boss thing”, to have you also experience the game like a normal person. But we can’t do that with wood and some archers, that’s why we need to leave the islands to upgrade our kingdom with structures that are spread all over the 5 islands.

Other game mechanics

Other game mechanics that you should know are:

In the first islands, there’s a merchant that comes after the night to give you free coins, but you’ll need to pay him back 1 coin for him to come back the next day. This merchant doesn’t appear in the late islands, but it’s a bonus to speed up the process.

There’s generally 3 chests that contain coins in the islands, these can be opened by walking by them, or avoided if you run past them (if you already have your bag full). Also, there’s gems, that can only be obtained from gem chests, that are not in the first island. They are bigger than coins in the bag, and are very valuable, so keep them safe. The gems will unlock structures and save them even after dying in that save file.

When you upgrade your camp to tier 6 (stone castle) there will be a guy with a stone chest near the camp. This is the gem bank, that will keep your gems safe and can be withdrawn from one island to another for 1 coin each gem. Talking about banks, there will be a coin bank in your camp, when upgraded to the tier 4 camp. The bank is represented by this dude with a hat, that when you throw coins at him (has to hit the limit to store them right away), will store them in the castle. Behind some confusing maths, each day the bank will create more coins that what you had saved in it, and you can withdraw your coins every morning. The more coins you put, the more it generates each day. The banker will fill your bag with the exact coins to not make them overflow, so use your coins before taking his coins.

The vagrant camps and the merchant hut will disappear if you deforest past them, so be careful if you really want a source of vagrants and build a wall past that part of the forest.

That horse you have is not the only thing you can mount, there’s a good amount of mounts in the game, with each mount having a different amount of speed, stamina, and other stats we’ll see in a moument.
Sprites taken from A Complete Guide to “Kingdom: Two Crowns” (Community Collab)

There are 8 Mounts in the Original mode of the game:

  • Default Horse – starting mount on Island 1
Your trustworthy mount, till you reach Island 2. It can regain its stamina by eating grass, so not during winter. This is not possible inside the forest area.

  • The Griffon – located on Island 1
If you have scouted on Island 1, you will know where it is located. You need gems to unlock the Griffon which can only be found from Island 2 and higher. Therefore you can pick this up when returning. The Griffon can eat anywhere to regain its stamina, even during winter. The Griffon can be seen as one of the best mounts during the early-mid game due to its great stamina and ability to eat anywhere. By pressing Shift or Double Tapping once you can blow back the Greed, but other enemies are not affected.

  • The Stag – located on Island 2
A better mount compared to the Default Horse. I would recommend you to change to this mount on Island 2. His sprint benefits most in the forest area and loses speed on grass terrain. Another reason to use this mount in the early game is his ability to make deer fall for him. I mean this literally after you have lured them back and they have been shot by your archers. If they run away, try again to lure them towards your archers. The Stag can regain its stamina by eating grass, so not during winter.

  • The War Horse – located on Island 3
A decent mid-game mount. You can activate a buff for all loyal forces nearby by sprinting, this will last around 10 seconds where they will not take damage from enemies. This ability has a 20 second cooldown period. It can regain stamina by grazing, not during winter.

  • The Wild Horse – located on Island 3
This mount can do the same as the Default Horse, except it has better stamina. Just like the other mounts, it can regain stamina by grazing, not during winter.

  • The Lizard – located on Island 4
This is one of the best mounts in the game for defensive purposes because it can breathe fire! Basically, a mount and a BBQ in one. Like every special ability, this can be activated by pressing Shift or Double Tapping once. This walking BBQ can also run but has low stamina. This is compensated by its increased basic speed. When it has low stamina, it can regain it by sunbathing.

  • The Great Bear – located on Island 4
The title isn’t really correct, this bear is not so great. It can deal one arrow damage to animals and Greed while running but has further no advantages. It can not recharge its stamina.

  • The Unicorn – located on Island 5
This mount will make you rich! It can poop out 3 coins when it grazes, which can be activated around every 12 seconds.

Other game mechanics (part two)

If you haven’t noticed yet, the game runs between 4 seasons, that stay the same between islands. Each season exists out of 16 days, where on day one, you start during Spring. This is essential to understand because winter is harder to survive due to a lower, steady income.

Spring
Summer
Autumn
Winter
Year 1
1 – 16
17 – 32
33 – 48
49 – 64
Year 2
65 – 80
81 – 96
97 – 112
113 128
Year 3
129 – 144
145 – 160
161 – 176
177 – 192
Year 4
193 – 208
209 – 224
225 – 240
241 – 256

Below you can find a short description of how to recognize each season besides the day count.

Spring: Grass starts to grow, wildlife starts to spawn and farmers are starting to work on the farms (if you have farmers and farms). It can occasionally rain.
Summer: Tall grass grows now and wildlife spawns have increased to the maximum. No rain will fall.
Autumn: The river turns red due to falling leaves, indicating that winter is coming.
Winter: Snow falls, destroying tall grass and rabbit dens. Deer also stop spawning in the forest. Farms will take longer to grow and mature, till the water in the stream freezes. When this happens the crops will die and farmers will stop working on the farms.

The appearance of Blood Moons is connected to the season’s cycle as indicated in the table above. They seem to take place around two days before the seasons change, with the possibility of being one day earlier or later. Some exceptions are:

  • A Blood Moon during spring year 1 is very rare, but it still a possibility.
  • Blood Moons during winter before the 3rd year are uncommon, but they are still possible.
  • An extra Blood Moon in the middle of the season may start happening during and after the 4th year.

In case you wondered, Blood Moons are an event in where, on the night, the moon turns red, and a bigger wave of greed will come to attack you. This event is very difficult to survive if you haven’t built your defenses or if you haven’t hired enough archers. From my experience this far, this is what you need for the different Blood Moons:

  • Early Blood Moons need at least 5 archers and tier 3 walls.
  • Mid year 1 Blood Moons are risky in tier 3 walls, so upgrade to tier 4 walls and try to get at least 7 archers.
  • After portal destruction Blood Moons are a little tougher than normal Blood Moons, but can be survived with tier 4 walls, the catapult, and 7-10 archers.
  • Mid year 1 After portal destruction Blood Moons are ridiculously big, so you’ll need iron walls, the catapult (and optionally flame barrels) and 12 archers or more if you can, tier 5 tower or ballista tower can help.
  • Anything further than this will just need more archers, since you will already have to get everything upgraded to the max tier.

Sprites taken from A Complete Guide to “Kingdom: Two Crowns” (Community Collab)

Decay it’s like a countdown that sets in when you leave an island. For example, leaving Island 1 when you are sailing towards Island 2 will activate the decay. However, the earlier islands will have a slower decay rate. A lighthouse will have an effect on the decay. Decay only affects walls and archers. Archers only last a day, but walls last from 2 all the way to 20 days, depending on the tier. No other structure will be destroyed, so you can leave if you eradicated the greed on that island. The lighthouse adds days to the countdown, so tier 1 adds 10 days, tier 2 adds 20 days, and tier 3 adds 30 days.

Still don’t know enough to start? Did I explain something wrong? There will be things explained on the run, so don’t be worried. But if you want, you can get a better explanation of the mechanics in this guide:

Another reminder

Now begins the Walkthrough part. This part is definitely not made by me, but I translated the XBox controls and systems to better fit that of the PC platform.

Run 0

Warm up (for new players)
Welcome to Run 0, which is created especially for players who are new to the franchise or for players who need a quick refresh. This run and guide goes further in-depth compared to Run 1, Run 2 and the DLC. If you think you are experienced and comfortable enough with this game, feel free to start on the next page Run 1.

You can move with WASD or Direction Keys. We’ll be using directions for less confusion.
You there? good! So let’s start up the game and select the standard biome by pressing Down. You can now choose a different king or queen by pressing Down. Simply wait when you are satisfied with your choice. The game will now automatically start to load. When you see your character in-game, you are able to invite a second player. This can be done at any point in time. Playing co-op is again recommended. So if you have someone online that owns the game you can ask them to play. You can also invite them through Play Together. Or you can just play solo, using your keyboard to control the two players: you can join pressing J.

ISLAND 1

You are now on Island 1 with your boring default horse. This is the first of 5 islands. Follow the tutorial (see steps below), because it will explain the basics very well and it will gain you some extra coins you can spend. Press Shift or Double Tap to gallop with your horse, but keep an eye on its stamina. You can do by watching the horse visibly breathe. When this starts to happen you don’t need to directly stop, but continuing too long will make your horse stop and walk. Don’t worry if your mount runs out of stamina, by eating grass the horse will restore its stamina or you can simply walk/stand still to have it recover. Getting familiar with the stamina of your mount can be crucial when running away from the Greed, so don’t be afraid to test it out.

The tutorial will force you to do the following:

  • Follow the ghost.
  • Build the Campfire (level 1) with 3 coins – hold Down when standing on the camp.
  • Recruit both wanderers, each takes 1 coin – tap Down.
  • Put 2 coins in the Archer shop – hold Down while standing in front of the shop.
  • Put 3 coins in the Worker shop – hold Down while standing in front of the shop.
  • Build a wall with one coin – hold Down while standing on top of the sand heap where you can build a wall.
  • Follow the ghost towards the vagrant’s camp.
  • Recruit both wanderers, each takes 1 coin – tap Down.
  • Put 2 coins in the Archer shop – hold Down while standing in front of the shop.

Basic strategy for every island:
  • Solo strategy: Go after completing the tutorial immediately to the far left (and the next night to the right) and grab all chests, there should be 3 in total. Keep an eye on the sun & moon cycle (in the background – not always visible in the forest), turn around if you can’t make it all the way during the day. The island isn’t usually the same size on both sides, so it can take longer to get to one of the two sides. Make sure to check where the boat is and if possible make a note of where the dock- and mountain-portals are.
  • Solo controlling two players strategy: After the tutorial, go with one controller to the left and the other one to the right. Try, if you can manage this. If you can’t do both at the same time, you can leave one at the wall and check with the other one aside. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the sun & moon cycle (in the background – not always visible in the forest). The island isn’t usually the same size on both sides, so it can take longer to get to one of the two sides. Make sure to check where the boat is and if possible make a note of where the dock- and mountain-portals are. Keep one controller at each side of your kingdom to keep an eye on your walls and archers.
  • Co-op strategy: When playing co-op, each takes a side. Go one night directly after a wave on a side is cleared to the far left and let your buddy go right (or the other way around). Grab all coins from the chests, there should be 3 total. Turn around if you can’t make it all the way during the day. The island isn’t usually the same size on both sides, so it can take longer for one person to get to the end. Make sure to check where the boat is and if possible make a note of where the dock- and mountain-portals are.

Defending and expending:

Island 1 is the smallest and easiest one of all islands. If you are new to this game, try to build slowly and understand how the game works. It is easy to make a mistake that can stop your progress. On the later islands, this can be fatal and will force you to start over again if you want to get all achievements.

For that reason, make sure to always have a wall on both sides and be careful when you upgrade it, an unfinished tower may create a disaster for your workers and archers on that side. You can, however, “panic” defend by dropping coins for the (small) greed. They will pick up the coins and go back to their portal. The greed will come during the night at both sides. They spawn from the portals at the mountain and at the docks. After you have cleared a wave at a side it is safe to explore that side, cut down trees or expand.

Besides walls you need archers. Their aim will be bad at this point, so I recommend to have around 6-10 in total. Archers (and later pikes) will automatically go to a wall to balance both sides. Keep in mind that when you expand really far out, your archers might not reach the wall in time which can lead to a disaster. You also don’t have to build every wall you can, just try to always play save while also keeping an eye on the time.

Income:

On Island 1 these are your possible types of income during spring, summer and autumn. Income during winter will be limited, being prepared for winter is crucial to not lose your income fully. On Island 1 and 2, you will have the Merchant as back-up unless you had to get rid of him.

  • Merchant
  • Archers (hunting)
  • Farmers
  • Workers (woodcutting)
  • Bank

Goal:

These goals are for now simply an exercise, it does not matter if you get them or not. If you get one or all of them, great! If not, during Run 2 (Clean Up) you will smash these out of the park like Willie Mays.v

  • Day 6: On the sixth day you should try to have a full bag of coins. Simply walk to all your hunting archers to achieve this.

  • Day 7: Keep cutting down trees and you will get this achievement without much trouble. It is probably easier to expand to the direction where there is no merchant.

  • Day 8: Co-op only!! Simply let one of the two players lose his/her crown by dumping all your coins inside the Kingdom and run towards the Greed. The other player can pay 20 coins to create a new crown for the first player. If you don’t have a crown, you are not able to build/expend.

Is it beyond day 8? Try to build the boat so you know how this game mechanic works.
Got that done? Great! If you think you got the basics under control, go to the next page (Run 1). If you think you are not ready yet, read all the information on the previous page (again) and keep playing.

Run 1

Single reign run
This run is optimized for a co-op run, see the three options below. You can still follow this guide when running it solo, but this will increase the difficulty. -Online co-op -Split-screen co-op -Split-screen solo with keyboard

Kingdom: Two Crowns is different every time you will run it. This run gives you a general strategy that will provide you everything you need to defeat this game without dying. Yes, the “There is no greater ruler than thou” achievement will be our main goal during this run.

You will get a lot of the achievements along the way just by playing and defeating the Greed on each island. The ones missing are easy to get during our Run 2 – the cleanup. For that reason, the achievements below are not mentioned in this run. We will be focusing on speed!

The first islands are easy, but the difficulty will increase quickly which means you have to play carefully. However, speed is of the essence as well. The more days progress, the harder it will get during normal nights and Blood Moons. If you have lost both crowns (co-op), you will have to restart the run to get the above achievement. Losing just one crown is not a problem (unless solo – one monarch), the other player can buy a new shiny crown for 20 coins. They deliver those crowns faster than Amazon Prime!

(1) ISLAND 1

Goal: Build the boat as fast as possible and move to Island 2.

The clock is ticking! You should be able to leave the island before day 6, solo and co-op. If you don’t get the achievement now, don’t worry about it.

It is optional to skip the tutorial, but you will miss out on some extra coins and resources. Hold Down to skip the tutorial if you want to.

Start your camp, get the coins from the chests and explore the island. Note which way is the docks and where the Statue of Archery is. If possible try to clear the way towards the boat and protect it. This makes it safer to build the boat. If this is not possible because of a spawn camp or the merchant, you can build the boat with 3 workers in a day after the wave has been cleared. You will have enough time. Before you leave the ring, the bell at the docks and make sure there are 3 workers and 4 archers on the boat. Time to travel to the next Island!

(2) ISLAND 2

Goal: Unlock Stone, grab the Stag mount, build the boat and move back to Island 1.

We arrive on Island 2 and as you can see, we have a schedule to keep. If you have brought over 4 archers from Island 1, you only have to recruit 4 more archers day 1. Focus on this before recruiting extra workers. So scout the island for camps and coins. You can open Gem chests if you want, but it will take inventory space. Feel free to purchase the Stag Mount already, but make sure to keep at least one gem. Unlock Stone when you find the mine and note which way is the docks.

This achievement can be done co-op only! So save up 20 coins with one player and let the other one leave all their coins and gems behind the wall. Run towards the Greed and let them take your shiny crown. Walk back inside and let the other player purchase a new crown for 20 coins. If you do this by the eighth day, you will unlock the achievement above.

Open a gem chest if you do not have a gem yet. If the achievement does not pop on the ninth day, try dropping and picking it up again. This should fix that problem. If you haven’t got the Stag Mount yet, purchase it. It will take 2 gems and 8 coins. This is a big upgrade from your standard horse (and if you play co-op only one of you can get this mount, the other player will get his chance back on Island 1).

After you have done this, it is time to clear the way towards the boat and protect it. This makes it safer to build the boat for now. If this is not possible because of the merchant, you will have to get rid of it. Before you leave, make sure to grab at least 3 gems (preferable 5). Workers and archers are optional; we won’t stay for long on Island 1. Having more gems is beneficial because this will allow you to buy a different mount on Island 1. If you don’t have enough gems, you should skip step 3 for now. You will have to switch steps 3 and 4 around.

(3) ISLAND 1

Goal: Unlock Statue of Archery, grab the Griffon mount, build the boat, and move to Island 3.

Check your outer towers, they should be fine. Else simply rebuild during the day. Now go to the Statue of Archery (check your notes where it is) and unlock it with 3 gems and 10 coins. Grab the Griffon mount from where it fell out of the sky. It will cost you 2 gems and 8 coins.

Got that done? Time to repair the boat and make our way to Island 3. Take 3 workers and 4 archers with you. If you didn’t have enough gems for the Griffon mount, you can return back after visiting Island 3.

(4) ISLAND 3

Goal: Unlock Statue of Building, build the boat, and move to Island 4.
Optional: Unlock the Hermit of Baking, if you are playing solo this is a must-have, it will save you a lot of time to recruit.

Start your camp, get all the coins and gems from the chests. Note which way the docks are again and while you are at it, unlock the Statue of Building. This will cost you 3 gems and 9 coins. The Statue of Building will increase the health of your walls. If you are getting the Hermit of Baking, this will cost you 4 gems. You can now upgrade a 4+ tier tower to a bakery, and buy bread that attracts vagrants from their camps, which will help you with recruiting.

You know the drill, build the boat safely and make sure to grab at least 4 (or 6) gems + 3 workers and 4 archers.

Run 1 (part two)

(5) ISLAND 4

Goal: Unlock Iron upgrade, defeat the Greed, build the boat, and move to Island 3.

From here on out it is up to you which Mounts you prefer and want to use. I personally used Griffon (Island 1) + the Stag (Island 2). Just make sure you don’t buy too many, it is better so gems for later on.

Now it is time to get serious! Let’s show those Greed who is the boss!
We will defeat the Greed for the first time on an Island. This means you won’t need to worry about this Island for any further attack after we are done. So get your camp going and collect all coins and gems from the available chests. Remember where the docks are and unlock the Iron upgrade when you have a steady cash flow.

It is important to only focus on the side where the mountain is. The docks are currently not important and a waste of time. So expand slowly and try to destroy your first portal by the tenth day. This shouldn’t be too difficult. You only need 2-4 squires or knights (depends if you brought some). You can also use your Mount ability to help, depending on which one you are rolling with. If you are too slow, you can try on Island 5 again or during the Clean-up Run. If you are on time you will get both achievements below, else you will only get the latter one.

Keep expanding (slowly) and keep attacking portals when your defenses are strong enough to withstand a Blood Moon. During a Blood Moon, you can use some fire barrels to make the night a little brighter and get some BBQ vibes going. You need to set 20 Greed on fire to get the Pyrotechnics achievement. If you don’t get it on this island, don’t worry. Island 5 will give you much more to fire at.

After a couple more nights, you will have destroyed all portals on this side and you are up for the big finale. Before we move on, it is important to know that after building the bomb (you can build it with an iron tier castle) the workers and knights will follow you. So if you move beyond your defenses they will follow you, but won’t move backward. Also, make sure to have your bag full of coins to keep feeding your knights (knights and squires can be given coins that act as extra lives). The most important thing is that you are on the right Mount. You want to get a fast moving Mount. It is also possible to have your other player wait at the entrance.

So, when the forge is unlocked (build 3 iron walls on the portal side) you can upgrade your squires to knights, and you can build a bomb to blow up the Greed! The bomb will be moved by three workers and escorted by two knights (and their squads) . Make sure to have enough workers, else it will take longer for them to move it.

When you are at the mountain, it is time to enter the cave. You can do this by paying 5 coins and follow your brave allies into the cave. So yeah this is the inside. Let’s not stick around too long. Slowly move forwards with your knights till the archers automatically attack those boss things. You will have to destroy a couple till you see another big squishy thing. This time the bomb won’t move further so it is time to activate it. Put another 5 coins in it and run back towards the exit. Did you make it? Congrats! Only 4 more to go!

To celebrate a little have some achievements. We aren’t done yet, so let’s build the boat and sail to Island 3!

(6) ISLAND 3

Goal: Defeat the Greed, build the boat, and move to Island 2

Welcome back to Island 3, let’s fix some walls and get your financial income back to normal. Make sure your defenses are always on point and start heading towards the Mountain Portal. So, destroy all Portals in between and slowly build out towards this side. When you are ready to, attack and destroy the Mountain Portal. You will unlock your next achievement!

Time to clear the next Island from the Greed! Build the boat and go to Island 2.

(7) ISLAND 2

Goal: Defeat the Greed, build the boat, and move to Island 1

You should know what to do now. After you have cleared this Island you will unlock the ‘Songs Will Be Written‘ achievement.

Only two more to go, so fix your boat and let’s go back to where it all started: Island 1!

(8) ISLAND 1

Goal: Defeat the Greed, build the boat, and move to Island 5

Just like the before, destroy the Mountain Portal and earn the ‘Legends Will Be Passed Down‘ achievement.

One more war to finish what you have started! Build your boat and sail with your knights and workers towards Island 5.

Run 1 (part three)

(9) ISLAND 5

Goal: Defeat the Greed, Build the Lighthouse, build the boat, and move to Island 4.
Optional: Unlock the Hermit of Rally, see below explanation on the ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ achievement.

Your final Island. The hardest and the biggest of them all. However, you are now a war veteran with scars on your face. The Greed have no idea who is coming for them.

There’s a trick you can do to escape the final attack after the last portal is destoyed. First, get a wall right next to the last portal in the cliff side. Next, build the bomb, and wait for it to get to the wall. Now just when a new day starts, attack the portal, and once destroyed, get ramming into the cliff portal. This will evade the Blood Moon that you should be facing that night, and saves you time.

Since this is your final Island to clear, don’t rush it. Take your time by always making sure you are prepared for a random Blood Moon. Slowly move towards the Mountain Portal and blow it up! If you haven’t lost both crowns you have earned these two achievements:

Don’t leave yet! There are two more achievements we can do here!

Time to become anti-climate and cut down every tree you see on the Island and build 20 max-level towers! There should be enough spots, I haven’t had any problems on Island 5. When doing this you can also clear all the leftover portals and the portal at the Docks. After destroying the portal at the Docks, you can build a Lighthouse. You don’t need to max it.

Now it is time to count your gems and make up the balance. Are you going for ‘I am an Equestrian‘ and ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ achievements? both? or only one of the two?

It is perhaps possible to do both, but this depends on how many Hermits you currently have and how many total Mounts you have unlocked.

For ‘I am an Equestrian‘ you need to ride four Mounts on the same Island. Island 1 is the easiest one which is the Island where we end on for this run. You should have unlocked the Griffon and used both the starting Horse and the Stag on Island 1 as well. So you only need to bring one more to Island 1. This achievement shouldn’t be a problem.

The other achievement ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ can be a little more tricky. Did you unlock the Hermit of Bakery? In that case, you need 3 more, else you obviously need 4. The cheapest Hermits you can find on Island 2 (Hermit of Stable for 1 gem), Island 4 (Hermit of Knight for 2 gems), Island 5 (Hermit of Rally for 3 gems) and Island 1 (Hermit of Ballistic for 3 gems). So you will need 6-9 gems depending on your situation.

Did you make your decision? Build the boat and let’s move on to Island 4.

(10) ISLAND 4

Goal: Build the Lighthouse, build the boat, and move to Island 3.
Optional: Unlock the Hermit of Knight, see above explanation on the ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ achievement.

Just rush the leftover portals and build the Lighthouse at the end, when you have cleared the portal at the Docks. Now, build the boat and move to Island 3.

(11) ISLAND 3

Goal: Build the Lighthouse, build the boat, and move to Island 2.

Rinse and repeat, build the Lighthouse and move to Island 2.

(12) ISLAND 2

Goal: Build the Lighthouse, build the boat, and move to Island 1.
Optional: Unlock the Hermit of Stable, see above explanation on the ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ achievement.

Almost the last time, build the Lighthouse and move to Island 1. Don’t forget to bring a new mount that hasn’t been there yet.

(13) ISLAND 1

Goal: Build the Lighthouse, build the boat, and move to Island 2.
Optional: Unlock the Hermit of Ballistic, see above explanation on the ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ achievement.

You should unlock the achievement below first.

Now destroy all portals except the portal at the Docks. Keep walking up to the portal with no coins in your inventory. This will knock your crown off, but you will be able to easily pick it up since the island is already cleared. Keep doing this until you unlock the ‘Never Gives Up‘ achievement. Doing this with both players will make this go much faster.

Time to take this last portal down and build your final Lighthouse. This will unlock the ‘Safe Passage‘ achievement.

(14 – etc.)

Goal: Keep sailing between Island 1 and 2.

One more achievement to get here which you can get by sailing in co-op between Islands. I would pick Island 1 and 2 since they are easy to select, but it doesn’t really matter. Simply do this 50 times to unlock ‘A Journey Is Better Shared‘.

Good job! You got the toughest part out of the way. Time to do a quick clean up; move on to Run 2.

Run 2

Clean up

Welcome to the Clean-up. It is possible that you are still missing a couple of achievements and most of them will be listed below. There are some exceptions if you’ve been playing online co-op. Some achievements are host specific, but I was personally unable to make a complete list. You would have to run it a second time. But don’t worry, you can easily combine this with some of the achievements below. You should have enough experience to progress faster. Also, feel free to follow the steps below exactly, or combine and/or switch certain achievements. You can easily start a new save to retry if needed.

Clean Up 1

Part 1Island 1

Let’s start with some pacifist achievements. Start a new save and gather all the coins available from the chests. When the moon rises, drop coins on both sides so that the Greed picks it up. This way you can defend your people without building a camp. You need to keep them all alive if you don’t have the ‘Master of the Sea‘ achievement yet. Start chopping down trees towards the boat to get a little bit of extra income. On the third day, simply build the camp with 3 coins and invest in perhaps a couple of archers and some workers. Put all further coins into the boat and leave before day 6! If you still didn’t get the ‘Master of the Sea‘ achievement you can simply restart and focus on this one.

When you have finished the boat, it is important to not bring any archers. Also, try to bring as many coins as you can. So, get on the boat and sail away immediately to Island 2!

Part 2Island 2

Back on Island 2 and the perfect way to not kill anything. Simply drop coins for the Greed every night and survive four nights. If you need money, open up the available chests. Giving away gems is always possible. After unlocking this achievement you can start a new game.

Clean Up 2

Part 1Island 1

With a fresh start, we want to slowly upgrade our camp. You can start your camp (tier 1 for 3 coins) and upgrade it once more (tier 2 for 6 coins). When the next day starts, upgrade it once more (tier 3 for 9 coins). This will unlock the ‘On the second day‘ achievement.

Now simply start building your cutting down trees towards both sides. If you have to get rid of the Merchant, do it. We are trying to clear an acre of land before day 7 ends, so keep this in mind. In the meanwhile, we are also trying to prepare for day 6. On day six you need a bag full of coins, so many coins that you spill them all over the ground. In the meanwhile, you can also get the ‘By the 8th day‘ achievement.

Now prepare the boat and let’s move on to Island 2. This time, make sure to bring extra archers and workers.

Part 2Island 2

No time to waste, start your camp and start recruiting! You need 8 archers on day 1. So don’t make any workers, only archers!

From here on out your main focus should be to destroy a portal by the tenth day, if you haven’t unlocked this one yet. Unlock stone and slowly get two squires on one side. Now for the next available achievement, make sure to cut trees so the grass can spread further. This way more bunnies will spawn that you can kill. After killing 40 bunnies, you will get the ‘On the fourth day‘ achievement.

The next achievement is easy, grab a gem on the ninth day. You can force this by dropping a gem and picking it back up.

To get another achievement simply attack a portal. This can be done on the same day.

If you still need the ‘Is a Hermit still a Hermit if they have friends?‘ achievement, continue. If not, go to the last clean up run.

So you still need it? First, unlock the Hermit of Stable (for 1 gem) and set sail to Island 1.

Part 3Island 1

Unlock the Hermit of Ballistic (for 3 gems) and move to Island 3.

Part 4Island 3

Unlock the Hermit of Bakery (for 4 gems) and move to Island 4.

Part 5Island 4

Unlock the last hermit, the Hermit of Knight (for 2 gems) and sail to a random Island. This should unlock the achievement.

Clean Up 3

Part 1Island 1

Create a new game and get your boat on and move to Island 2.

Part 2Island 2

Now get your crown stolen (both players – at the same time), you are now back on Island 1.

Part 3Island 1

Back on Island 1, we are going to lose our crowns a couple more times (both players – at the same time), to be on the safe side do it 5 times. The decay is slower on the first two Islands, that is why it is better to overdo it. After 5 times, we’ll set sail to Island 2.

Part 4Island 2

Welcome back to Island 2! The achievement might not unlock directly; simply try to force it by building or rebuilding something.

Congratulations! You got the last achievement for the main game. Time to move on to the DLC.

DLC Run

Welcome to the Challenge Islands!
The Challenge Islands are, no doubt, challenging, but the two achievements aren’t really. You will need to lose your crown and destroy 4 portals. You can even unlock it during one of your normal runs.

Hints & tips
  • First of all, Skull Island is currently not co-op! You will need to do this solo, but luckily the achievements aren’t too bad.
  • Time is, again, of the essence. Difficulty will increase over time, so getting things done early on will help you.
  • Your focus is economic growth/sustainability and destroying 4 portals. It does not matter which portal you destroy, but I would recommend doing 2-2 or 3-1 depending how your world has spawned.
  • There is a peaceful night after each blood moon, the perfect time to expand. Be careful, the end of a blood moon is not always the start of a new day.
  • Don’t forget the Hourglass Shrine. You need money for it to avoid that volcano in the background from erupting. Letting it run out will force you to restart. One level is one day/night cycle. So keep an eye on it if you don’t have enough cash on you to keep it at least half way full.
  • There are a total of 4 coin chests. Try to find them during the first few days to give your Kingdom a financial boost.

The Skull Island Run

Start the game and select ‘Challenge Islands‘ when you have loaded in. Choose the first one top left: Skull Island!

You might want to start over a couple times to find the “perfect” set up where you spawn near a chest, and where a spawn camp and the Hourglass Shrine are close to your camp. Because you will start on the Griffon with 0 coins. Scout the island for one treasure chest and make your way to your camp. The points below are a good indication if you want to destroy the 4 portals before day 30. Don’t worry if it takes you a little longer, but you should be done before winter is coming (day 49). When following the indications below, I assume you have completed the base game and you know what to do.

Day/Night 1

  • Get 1-2 builders.
  • Get 1-4 archers.
  • Build basic walls and upgrade them once (if possible).
  • Use your Griffon ability to help your archers.

Day/Night 2 – 5

  • Keep recruiting builders and archers.
  • Keep cutting down trees as far as you can and let the grass expand.
  • Scout for farm spots and expand to the nearest one till you can build one.
  • Scout for Hourglass Shrine if you have not found it yet. No need to put coins in yet. If the Hourglass Shrine is really far away you should restart.
  • Upgrade your camp and walls as far as you can. You should hit Stone Fortifications (tier 5) at least at the end of night 5. It is possible to use the ‘free’ walls when upgrading the camp at certain points.
  • At the end of the wave of night 5 it is time to fill up the Hourglass Shrine. It will cost 3 coins per level.

Day/Night 6 – 15

  • Don’t forget to put coins in the Hourglass Shrine.
  • Keep recruiting mostly archers from this point out with a squire in the mix and some pikes.
  • Keep cutting down trees as far as you can and let the grass expand till you are too close to a portal.
  • Make sure to expand if possible to unlock the Catapult and Pikes.
  • Make sure your outer walls are upgraded to Iron tier.
  • You can also upgrade towers to max tier or the one before, but it can slow your progress down a couple days.
  • If you have 2 squires on each side with around 10 archers and the catapult, you should be save to attack your first portal.
  • It is possible to expand aggressively after a blood moon.

Day/Night 16 – 30+

  • Don’t forget to put coins in the Hourglass Shrine.
  • Keep recruiting mostly archers and some pikes if they lost their pike.
  • Keep cutting down trees as far as you can and let the grass expand till you are too close to a portal.
  • Make sure your outer walls are always upgraded to Iron tier before you attack a portal. It can be a smart move to find a spot where you can build two walls close to each other and a tower. It has happened that my first tower was destroyed. The second tower protected most of my soldiers when they retreated.
  • It is optional to buy some flame barrels before attacking a portal.
  • Don’t attack another portal if your walls have not fully been restored. It is okay to wait an extra day for this.

When you have destroyed your fourth portal, you will unlock the ‘Cracked The Skull‘ achievement.

Now it is time to get the last achievement if you have not unlocked it yet, ‘A New Heir‘. Simply run towards the greed during the night and let them take your crown.

DLC Run 2

Welcome to the Dead Lands!

Hey, I am actually the one who made this part.

The Dead Lands is one of the three “skins” you can select to customize your Kingdom experience. It changes the world look and adds some new things, but the general mechanics are still the same (just like the Shogun). The achievements for this free DLC are not that hard, but they are long, but also not that long.

We’ll be needing to do only one playthrough. It should be easy if you have already finished the main game without dying. The ‘The Four Horsemen‘ achievement requires you to unlock each of the 4 Bloodstained characters, that are imprisoned in a cage in 3 islands (I don’t know if you need to do this in a single reign or not). For the ‘Igavania!‘ achievement, we’ll need to obtain the Gamigin, a Mount that can graze anywhere and has a powerful charge attack. It spawns in the 1 Island, like the Griffon, but uses the Warhorse background, so you’ll be confused the first time.

The Dead Lands Run

(1) ISLAND 1

Goal: Build the boat and move to Island 2.

You don’t need to stick around here for too long. Scout the island for 3 coin chests, but leave one unopened, preferably close to the camp. This way you can build the boat a little faster when coming again here for the Gamigin.

You only need to build the boat, so unless you want to make a full playthrough here, you should build low tier walls and recruit 4 archers. Got that boat floating? Good, now sail to Island 2.

(2) ISLAND 2

Goal: Unlock Stone, unlock Gebel, build the boat and move back to Island 1.
Optional: grab the Stag mount. This can make the playthrough a little faster, only coop though.

Now, we will again rush the base camp to make the process faster. Scout the island for gem chests, grab the Stag Mount if you have two players, locate the Mine and unlock Stone.

See if you can find the first character: Gebel the summoner. This first character’s ability turns himself into a pickle a bat, that will fly over the greed at over the top speeds, making him the fastest Character (and Mount?) in the game. Gebel will be held in a cage, that you’ll need to pay 12 coins for an archer to come and rescue him, then you can unlock him for 3 coins.

Now that you got your first character, when you create a second tier 3 wall from the camp, there will be a character selector that you can use for 4 coins to change your character. And yes, you can have two monarchs with the same character. Do you have 1 gem, Stone unlocked and Gebel? Yes? Start making that boat and get back to Island 1.

(3) ISLAND 1

Goal: Grab the Gamigin Mount, build the boat, and move to Island 3.

Again, we’ll be here for 2 days max. Check for that coin chest you got saved from earlier. Grab the Gamigin Mount, that spawns in a structure similar to the one where the Warhorse spawns. Pay 1 gem for the Gamigin to appear from a totally expected way, then you can change your Mount for 3 coins.

Once you got that, you should build the boat with the coins you saved, since there’s not much left to do here. Sail away to Island 3.

(4) ISLAND 3

Goal: Unlock Alfred, build the boat, and move to Island 4.

We will actually have to develop here, because (as far as I know) the next character spawns behind a portal. So, start your camp, seek and grab the coin chests, locate the new character’s cage and expand on that side until you reach the portal, upgrade your camp to Stone tier and hire a squire on the cage’s side. In case you forgot how easy it was to destroy only one portal early in game from the war trauma that Island 5 left in you, you can survive the wave having stone tier walls and 4 archers.

Now, pay 12 coins and 3 more coins to rescue and unlock your new character: Alfred the alchemist. His special ability allows him to create a duplicate of himself, therefore he can distract, attack and even use special abilities two times at the same time. Now that we have him, it’s time to rebuild that boat and sail to Island 4 for the final mission!

(5) ISLAND 4

Goal: Unlock Zangetsu
Optional: Unlock Iron upgrade, just because you can.

Start that camp and get farming those coins. Scout the island to find the last cage. You could also unlock the Iron upgrade, if you got spare money. Not that you need it, but it’s a bonus. Once you have found him, expand in his direction until you face the portal. We’ll again need 1 squire, but hire 2 just to be sure. Destroy the portal, the Blood Moon doesn’t matter, since this is the final task, unless you want to play the full playthrough here. If that’s the case, use those Iron walls to your advantage.

Once the portal is destroyed, rescue and unlock your new and last character for 15 coins: Zangetsu the demon hunter. His special ability is a boost, where he raises up his sword, to buff any nearby archers (and squires?), increasing their attack speed.

Having unlocked all characters should give you the ‘The Four Horsemen‘ achievement.

Change List

  1. Published the guide.

I hope you have enjoyed this game as much as I did. You have earned the 1150 Gamescore for sure!
We don’t have that here fam.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed using this walkthrough as much as I did will, cuz I didn’t even finish the game yet.
I have finished the game, felt good.

And I know, there’s a new DLC “where tf are those achievements my dude?” I will update the guide once I get to that point. But for now, just wait.
I have made the Dead Lands DLC achievements walkthrough myself.

Also, feel free to point out all grammatical errors and trash talk me for porting a guide. I actually feel sorry for the dude, how can you be happy when you make such a ludicrously good guide and this is what you get?
Sincerely infuriating. Might as well just credit them one last time.

I did make the majority of the initial guide by myself, and have changed the text for a more PC related context, but I feel the need to say this one more time
