All Favors, Altars and Your Gifts!

Overview

Wtf, why this Shrine give me itens (Nice☺)? What happened other day, when the divine light down upon me? Angry trees, please mercy…

Intro

In ICoV there are several Gods and Entities, and we all know that. But what exactly they do, how they help us, what they give us, and what their allies are, is another story.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, with the great help of my brother, we seek information in the secrets of the invisible to share with you. Thus, you will have in hand one of the most formidable weapons for the human mind. Knowledge! (Real)

Favors

Favors are the much affinity you have with a certain God or Entity.
When you pray to an altar, you earn points with it and lose with another to whom the God / Entity has a disagreement.
When you destroy they, you cause the opposite effect.

The more Favor you have, the better the rewards you gain by praying, as well, divine interventions, which are activated according to situation that the one you have favors and prayed determines.

Gods and Entities

These are the gods and entities of the game that have altars scattered throughout the sanctuaries, dungeons and exploration maps.

I left in pictures to leave more didactic and show what their affinities and how much of favors they give or lose when receiving prayers or being destroyed.

Informations in text at the end in case you want to copy.

Gameplay!

Having knowledge of who you want to have affinity will totally change your gameplay. So, my advice is to see within yourself what your style of play is, and to evaluate which altars are worth praying and which are not.

For example, in the beginning, when I did not have many levels in my incarnations. I buyed as many stones as possible in the sanctuary and prayed to Brearg() to gain power and succeed in breaking rocks and trees. Which brought me more loot and success in my playthroughs.
But this is basic and most realize it fast!

Things start to get more interesting when you realize for example that the song not only heals, but at its most advanced levels of blessing, it gives you the “Vampire Skull“. And that is a very important item to endure to continue after killing one of the final bosses if you want to venture into the New +.

So I’ll give you tips on how to run around the altars and why:

Altars and Tips

Here we will talk about mementos and game strategies, besides the altars, of course.

Ok, I’ll assign 5 (+1) player classes here and your styles:

Berserker
Warrior thirsty for blood; without patience to think. Kill first and ask questions later. (Hack’n’Slash Fan)

Playing in the Berserker style requires you to play as aggressively as possible. At first this is difficult, but if you play right and know which mementos to focus on, you will succeed. I always start with a Greatsword and try to get it +4 with the resources I get.
So I run up the group of enemies and deal as much damage as possible before starting mishmash.
To play aggressive, you will need a good life sustein to ensure that you heal more than you take spanking.
Focus on the altar of the Song and from time to time, to give a little more aggression, pray for the Veil.
Be sure to get these 3 mementos: “Vampire Skull”, “Bloody Stake” and “Dummy Training.
After the Song, the altar focus is Free, Naught and then Sow. Twig (memento) is great for his big sword.

Assassin
Patient and master of the shadows; loves the backs of his opponents (͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °). It’s gone! (Player of Mark of the Ninja, Hitman, Metal Gear Solid)

Assassin because it is a ninja, it must have a lot of agility and reflex. Your mastery to start and end a combat will define how far you will go. “Are you a God?”
So your focus here is Naught, Veil, Free, Sow and then Song.
Naught will give you all the attributes to move quickly, deflect and attack quickly. There is a way to get the Naught still in the sanctuary. But I hope you find out for yourself. It’s very interesting what did.
Anyway, if you can not find Naught, I recommend getting Stamina on Free before embarking on the journey.
On the others, put in mind to gain more damage. Stamina and Dexterity through Twig (memento), which is easy to get at Sow if you’re cool with it.

Mage
Pyromaniac, cool effects fan! Lover of reading and hidden powers. BOOOM! FIRE BALL! (Harry Potter, Magicka games and Wizard of Legend who not even in Steam yet!)

Apparently did not focus the game on spells, despite all the fondness in his creation. So they get more for support. However, it is a great support!
Our father here will be the black stone. Better known as Obelisk.
Then Song and Free.
Obelisk will give us real magic damage spells. Which will match very well with the dexterity to run and the memento Enchanted Bow, which gives us ghost archers of company.
The Song will be perfect if you want resurrection spells. There are even some very interesting compenions that can be revived.

Strategist
Always analyzing everything. Looks like he’s playing chess. Take advantage of every chance of advantage. (Already played Age of Empires?) :p

Strategist is the typical guy who stands stoped to not lose bar of hunger, while observing which spells he has equipped and how to kill that group there, without calling attention to others who are around.
I recommend that if you are a strategist and like to play slowly. Focus on Shield, Sow, Free, Veil (or Song if you want more life insted aggression) and then Brearg, which should be used little in relation to the Shield, since one overrides the other.
Shield will give you armor and soldiers through divine intervention. Soldiers are great at combat and will help a lot when it comes to positioning safely.
Sow is one of the best altars for all classes, because perception is useful in many aspects. And although not very quoted above, it should always be used.

  • Faster detection of traps, secret walls and treasures and enemies.
  • Lower price of prayers and mementos.
  • Best Dungeons.
  • Greater area of perception.

Free can make a combo with Shield by archers mentioned in Mage above. Free also can give to you the spell blink and dust, that can change your position before/after the fight and stun enemies respectively.
However, as a Strategist, you have your intelligence in your favor. Then use your best to lose the least amount of life and win all the fights.

Tank
You know they can bring their mothers. Do not be afraid to slap in the face! (Havel Armor?)

Laughing when 4 guys attack at the same time and you see them getting stunned.
Holding the Stone Shield and preparing a large Warhammer on the opponent’s forehead is always cool. Praying to Brearg then, it’s just joy!
Brearg will enable you to destroy even the blue magic gates in the dungeons as quickly as possible. Broken doors = More loot.
Beyond it, focus on Tremodyr and Song.
One for better endurance and less hunger and the other for more life.
Then between them, Sow and maybe Veil or Thousandfold.

Be

  • Be is to be free, no matter what chain your body uses. Only a fool attaches to the labels!

Despite everything I wrote here. Do not cling to any of these labels, you are much more than what they say.
So, be free and adaptive, only take what is useful for you and remnant.Transform!
Like I said at the beginning of the guide. I consider knowledge to be one of the most powerful tools for the human mind.

– Okay, back to the point.

Final Thoughts

Here is everything I discovered with my brother about the altars and his interference in the playthrough.

I hope I helped, because after I started to find out about the importance of the altars within the game, my gameplay has improved a lot.

Thank you for read and Peace to all.
