Overview
Shows a different method for reaching the campaign levels via the Card Collection menu.
Introduction
Among the myriad aspects of this game that have made many people unhappy with Wizards of the Coast, one constant annoyance is the sluggish navigation of the menu. If one wants to get to a match in the campaign, for instance, they need to click Single Player, then Campaign, then click-and-drag to a plane, then, finally, pick a match. Each of these clicks also has a transition in between, slowing you down even further. Fortunately, an alternative method has been integrated into the Card Collection screen, and that is what this guide will walk you through.
Planeswalking
First, you’ll need to get to the Card Collection icon on the main menu.
Once you’ve clicked on that, you’re shown the full collection of cards you can earn in-game. At the top of the screen, you can sort these cards by their means of acquisition — that is, where you need to go to get them. For our purposes, let’s say we want to spend some time in Innistrad.
Next, choose any card in the set. I’ve got a soft spot for the Seraph of the Masses, so that’s the one we’ll be using for this guide. Zoom in on the card of your choice (by default, this is done by mousing over the card and scrolling up on the mousewheel).
As you can see, there are 3 buttons to the right of the enlarged card. The last one, which I’ve highlighted in the image, says “Find Card.” You guessed it — click the button.
Now, the window tells you where you can find the card, and gives the option to “Visit Plane” or “Zoom Out.” Clicking “Visit Plane” asks for confirmation that you wish to leave the Card Collection screen. Once you’ve confirmed this, the fog rolls in, and you’re at your destination!
Outroduction
I concede that this method isn’t much faster than the other, more obvious means of reaching the campaign levels. But, for my part, I prefer this, and wanted to let others know that this is an available option for those that find the click-and-drag and transitioning too tiresome. If nothing else, knowing that this is possible will make navigation much faster if you’re already in the Card Collection menu, looking for that next card to add to your deck.
