Overview
This is a guide for Arcfury and Ulfberht, a powerful striker combination.
Introduction
Arcberht is an effective striker role combo. This means that it has low defense but deals very heavy damage. With Arcfury, a striker-class dragon, and Ulfberht, an offensive style weapon, this combo is designed specifically for hitting hard.
Remember that Arcberht is a glass cannon, as Arcfury is a delicate dragon with almost no defense.
Lore
Arcfury
Soul of the Storm
Born in a flash of primal energy at the height of the greatest of thunderstorms, the Arcfury brood have been soaring the skies of the Eternal Lands since the time before time. Their hides crackle with the forces of their creation, wreathing them in a powerful glow.
Their mercurial nature is well documented, Arcfury drakes are easy to anger and quick to strike. When angered they tend to lash out with a tongue of lightning, snaking out to scour the sky with precision accuracy. Though perhaps their most notable talent is the ability to become the very lightning from which they were borne. For a brief moment, the Arcfury flashes across the sky, a bolt of searing energy.
The Arcfury have long been stalwart mounts for Champions of the Eternal Lands. Their speed and precision make them a natural choice for precision strikes, and their surging aggression is as unbound as the storm.
Ulfberht
The Living Flame
In the tongue of the barbarians of Far Shore, the word Ulfberht now means “The flame that lives”, a reference to the fiery beast trapped within.
To some, the blade is also known as Town Killer. They know the blade’s name is actually the name of its maker, the adventurer and steel smith Ulfberht, who was the first of the barbarians to settle the Ice March to the north. He founded the homestead of Ulfby and lived there for thirty years before the dragon came.
It was a Hellfire, far from its ancestral home. Why it came so far north cannot be determined, but it plagued Ulfby; razing fields by day and consuming cattle by night.
Ulfberht fought the beast off repeatedly, but was never able to defeat the monster. Never, that is, until he turned his attention to the forge. He built for the beast a trap in the form of a sword. The sword was a masterpiece; made from sky-iron that had fallen through the Green Curtain and inscribed with the runes of his family, it was his finest work, but it was much, much more.
Hidden within the runes was a spell, a forbidden magic long thought forgotten: A spell of soul-binding. When Ulfberht next faced the dragon, the battle was over in a single exchange of blows. The moment the sword touched the dragon, its body fell lifeless to the ground. From within the metal of the blade itself arose a roar, a keening of sorrow the likes of which was never heard before. The adventurer took it as a sign of the beast’s end and returned to Ulfby, triumphant, but his joy was short-lived.
As he drew the sword to boast of his actions, it burst into flame, surrounding the adventurer in a cloak of fire. Embers leapt from the sword and seemed to seek out the villagers as if guided by an intelligence: The sword had bound the dragon’s soul, but Ulfberht was not strong enough to enforce his will upon the creature. In a night of fire and terror the beast had its revenge. Ulfberht itself, the sword spared so that he too could know the sorrow of being separated from all he had he had held dear.
How the sword made its way to the great battles above is a question to which no champion to wield the blade has ever provided an answer.

Skill Upgrades
These skill upgrade orders do not have to be followed, in fact the order of abilities upgraded depends on the circumstances of the game including map, ally dragons, and enemy dragons. For example, in Ballistae Alley, since there is no hoard, you should upgrade the core as early as possible for survivability.
Skillset #1: Core, Survivability
Skillset #2: Offense, Glass Cannon
Gameplay Guidelines
Basically, as a striker, you have to farm as many levels as you can in the beginning. Because of this, a quick minion-slaying spell like minion hunter or lightning elemental will be useful. They are not very good in PvP combat, but your abilities are more than enough to sustain you in battles.
For my second spell, I normally use a healing spell to save myself during fights.
Once you are level 2, always upgrade electric charge first, as it is critical to your survival, whether you are turreting or slaying dragons. The moment you feel you are in too much danger, jump out.
Once you have electric charge and lava burst both upgraded, you are ready for ambushing and mass destruction. Use electric charge to jump into danger while dealing high damage, and immediately use lava burst while holding your breath attack to finish the job.
When slaying enemies, you will literally live on their potions. Always get the health potions they drop, if they drop any. Mana potions still provide a little bit of health, so grab them too.
If you follow all these guidelines, through intense feeding and farming, you should become a deadly, dominating, massacre machine.
Strengths
Arcberht has:
- Very high damage. In 1v1, Arcberht can beat almost any combo if you use it right. For 1v2 or more, use Ulfberht’s lava burst while summoning all of your living flame charges.
- Great escape. To make up for its considerably low health and defense, Arcfury’s second ability, electric charge, is perfect for getting away when at low health or dodging massive attacks while still dealing plenty of damage.
- Reliable breath attack. Arcfury’s main attack, lightning strike, is cheap in mana cost and deals a lot of damage. Even if you run out of mana while escaping from an enemy, lightning strike should be able to hold them off.
- Decent speed. Although its base speed is not as fast as Novastar or Twinscale, Arcfury is able to dodge many attacks just by moving. Slow and medium speed dragons like Stonepeak and Dreadnaught are easy pickings if you harass them while dodging all of their attacks.
Weaknesses
With Arcberht, you should watch out for:
- Your mana gauge. Although Arcfury has plenty of mana, if you overuse your abilities while at low health, you will not be able to use electric to jump into safety.
- DoT enemies. Be wary of Damage over Time effects like Imperial’s Flames of Perdition and Gravelurker’s Putrid Blast poison. When at low health, even if Arcfury electric shock to teleport away, the aftereffect of these moves can easily kill it. Here’s a list of some dragons that deal dangerous damage over time:
Bladeforge
Dragokin
Gravelurker
Hellfire
Imperial
Noxwing
GoldenclawThese dragons are not hard to kill, but when you have below 20% health, run away from them immediately.
- Slowing, Stunning, Long range, or Infinite ranged attacks. Once slowed down, frozen, or paralyzed, Arcberht is extremely vulnerable to dying. Similarly, long range and infinite range attacks can snipe down an Arcfury trying to recover. Slow/stun dragons and weapons include:
Frostbane
Icemaul
Rimrock
The Dark One
Venomtail
Chillblade
Chronosphere
Elder’s Branch
Gorefist
Tempus’s Reach
VoidstarThe slow, trap, or stun shouldn’t be much of a problem in 1v1 fights, but in large team battles they can be lethal.
Long range attacks and infinite range attacks are easy to counter, just get close with lightning strike and interrupt them before they can use the ability. These dragons and weapons include:
Banshee
Briartove
Gemtalon
Lunaveil
Quetzalcoatl
Solreign
Bladebiter
Doom Shards
Sparrowthorn
Titan’s Call
Runes set
The best runes for Arcberht are health steal runes, as it gives the dragon health proportional to the damage it deals.
For the first 2-6 rune slots, use max health or defense runes, as Arcfury is vulnerable in the beginning with only 1 or 2 attacks.
