Counter-Intuitive Tip
Undoubtedly there will come a time in your trek across the wilds of Avalon that tribulation beset thee. It would seem wise in your eyes to merely “restart” your hand and try again. Verily I say unto thee, “Nay!” Do not be tempted to do such a thing!
“Pray tell, why not?” you ask. Simple knave. At the end of each hand one has ample opportunity to gather the town’s resources, yet that chance is not afforded you if you restart the hand. Instead accept your temporary failure and reap the resources you have sown.
Thou canst replay the hand directly from the map. You will be able to rebuild the empire much faster following this approach.
Spend Wisely
Buildings require resources to pay for their construction, but just because you have coins jiggling in your pouch, food in your larder or wood and stone piled in your storehouse, doesn’t mean you have to spend them at first chance.
Some buildings offer a resource, or an increase in a resource, while others offer nothing in the way of resources. A prudent and wise lord will save their resources for those constructions that provide additional resources first, then build the remaining structures at the end.
Restoration Completed
Tis a great day in the kingdom! The castle has been restored to a pristine state m’lord or m’lady. Nothing more remains to be contructed in the kingdom and everyonme is safe from the threat of goblin attack.
Sire, might I suggest then that all remaining food and building materials be converted to gold as soon as possible so that any remaining magical items in Merlin’s Store might be purchased. Those items will make your path straight and you progress easier for the remainder of the journey.
Might I Suggest…
Ah lad, might I make a wee suggestion to ye. Play each hand only once to start with and make your way as quickly as ye can to the Goblin King’s castle. This will give ye ample opportunity to complete all of Camelot’s buildings, as well as allowing you to buy all the varying upgrades. Then, once you have completed that task, you will have bulging pouches of gold coins with which you can buy as many wild cards and jokers as needed to get a perfect on every hand you may have missed.
This proved a better strategy than attempting to replay each hand to get three stars on the first pass up. My advice not withstanding, ye are free to choose your own path, but I hope you will heed the advice of your elder!
