Basic and Melee Tutorial for No More Room in Hell

Basic and Melee Tutorial

Overview

If you want to learn how to fight properly in No More Room in Hell and if you want to learn basic controls and such. (my 1st guide, so sorry if it is a little bad, but I did my best)

Basic key bindings

WASD = walk.
Left mouse = Swing weapon/shoot (hold to charge melee)
Right mouse = Aim with guns
E = Pick up
Space = Jump
Shift = Run
Control = Crouch
R = Reload (hold to check ammo)
U = Empty Magazine (if inventory is full you cannot do this, but if nearly full it will take all the ammo you can fit into inventory)
G = Drop weapon (hold to throw)
F = Flashlight (doesn’t work with 2 handed weapons)
Hold 1 = Inventory (move mouse and let go when cursor is on the item you want to equip (press right mouse button to drop equipment)
Hold 2 = Ammo (press left mouse button to drop ammo)
Hold 3 = Taunts and such (works like inventory, let go when cursor is on the taunt you want to use)
K = Points a gun in your head, after this press left mouse button to kill yourself (only works if you have a gun with at least 1 ammo on magazine)
V = Push zombies away
Middle Mouse = Voice chat
Y = Chat
C = Compass

Note: You can use mousewheel to change equipment, but I do not recommend this except if the item you need is next to the item you have equipped and you know it.
Note 2: Jumping and Running take up a lot of energy.

How and when to use medical suppiles

There are 4 medical suppiles: Bandages, Pills, Medkit and Gene Therapy.
To use these, you simply have to click left mouse button, and wait for animation to end.

Pills: Use these to temporarily stop infection. Infection is caused by getting bit after getting grabbed and appears as red veins around screen. When your screen is almost filled with these veins and when it turns almost pitch black, you are turning. If you or teammates don’t have pills, but you have a gun, press K and suicide. (your friends can kill you when infected even with friendly fire off)

Bandages: Use these to stop bleeding. Bleeding is caused by recieving any damage, but comes randomly. Bleeding appears as blood around your screen.

Medkit: Gives 30 health and stops bleeding. Use when screen is getting black, or if you don’t have bandages.

Gene Therapy: Acts like pills, but can cure infection so it won’t come back unlike pills. (This item is extremely rare)

Note: Remember to ask your teammates if you need any medical suppiles.

Survival and Objective

In NMRiH there are 2 game modes, Survival and Objective.

Objective:

Press C to see objective text and compass marking where to go

On this mode you are supposed to complete all objectives and safely extract

Survival:

Press C to see zones

On this mode you are supposed to hold all zones and survive all waves. Every wave there are more zombies

The zones have 100% and if not kept goes down. When all zones are at 0% you lose.

Every completed wave your teammates respawn

You get respawn tokens by killing zombies. This token allows you to restart while round is ongoing

Every 3rd round you get a supply drop containing weapons, medical suppiles and ammo

Bringing Fema bag to zone gives the zone 25%

How to use melee

Melee has 2 types of attacks: fast and charged

Fast attack is less efficent, but it is quicker. To do a fast attack you need to press left mouse button.

Charged attack is more effective, but it takes time to do. To do a charged attack you need to hold left mouse button, and let go to swing.

On classic and casual modes most 2 handed weapons are one hit kills when charged and aimed to head.

After you have used either one of these attacks, it is very important to push zombies away with V button, or else they might punch you or grab you.

How to use planks.

The planks are used to barricade something. You can barricade zombies into room, or yourself so you don’t die if you are in a bad situation.

To use planks you simply need to have a hammer, planks and nails. Then go near door. You will get highlighted spots to mark the places you can attach the plank into.

Placing the plank on highest spot possible is best way to keep zombies away. Only crawlers can get to you this way.

Exhaustion

Exhaustion is a thing that comes after using attacks or running and jumping. To regain it, you need to stand still or walk without jumping, running or hitting enemies. Most effective way to regain it is to crouch.

Note: The more stuff you carry, the faster you get exhausted.
