Strike Vector Guide

How to redeem '3rd Echelon' map - [DEPRECATED; GAMESPOT REMOVED THE PAGE] for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction

Basic beginners guide

Overview

This is a small beginners guide that will teach you some of the basics and what to do and not to do

Basics & Controls

The first thing you should do is go to the class room and start a solo flight, here you can practise basic controls and learn where certain things are on the map like the health pickups which heal you by +25 each time you take one and can overheal you to +150.

I’ve seen quite a few people in game asking how to do some basic things, here are the controls for some useful things:

W – This will activate “Post-Combustion” which is basically a sprint mode, whislt you are using it you show up on enemy minimaps and you have a lower turning speed, use it to chase down enemies and get places quickly.

Space- This will switch you between 2 modes, one will be like aiming down sights in typical fps games, it will make you slower and you can turn a lot faster, the other is like a sprint mode.

Double tap D or A – This will make you do a barrel roll which if timed correctly can make you avoid lock on missiles.

Weapons & Specials

In Strike Vector you can choose from any combination of 8 weapons that can be duelwielded.

I personally prefer the explosive weapons that you need to lead the target with and i’ll be covering those.

Carabine – This is what you should start out with if you like explosives, it has a fast travel speed and you must lead your targets but it does a decent amount of damage and can easily kill another vector if aimed well. It is probably the best weapon for learning to predict and lead your targets.

Rocket launcher – This is a slower moving projectile that does a lot more damage, if you think you can efficiently lead shots on enemies this may be the weapon for you.

Swarm & Homing missiles – These are weapons that should probably never be used, they are frustrating to play against and aren’t very effective against people who know what they are doing, they also don’t do a lot of damage and take no skill to use.

Special Action – You can choose 1 of these at a time to use, it has a cooldown timer that can be decreased by picking up the orange clocks that are spread across the map, again like the weapons there is one you should try to stay away from as it is considered “nooby” and is frustrating to play against:

Stalker – Try not to use these if you can avoid it, they are a fire and forget style of mine, they will actively try to follow players and explode when someone gets close enough and destroy their vector.

In my experience the instantshield and the rocket booster are the best 2 specials to use depending on the map and playstyle:

InstantShield – This is useful if an enemy is using one of the lock-on/homing missiles if you aren’t very good at avoiding them, it lasts for about 3 seconds and can save you if used well, you can use it to activate then turn around and take out someone who is chasing you.

Rocket Booster- Another special that is useful for avoiding lock-ons and chasing enemies, just use it and blast across the map, just make sure to avoid crashing.
