Battlestations Pacific Windows 10 Online Fix for Battlestations: Pacific

Battlestations Pacific Windows 10 Online Fix

Overview

So after i bought Battlestations Pacific i noticed that a lot of people including me have a problem with the game, and after some research i found a solution for Windows 10.The first step will help you delete the old Games for Windows Live, the second one will help you install the new one, the third will let GFWL through you Windows Firewall (solving login issues) and the fourth step helps you log in.Disclaimer: this guide was made in 2018, I can’t ensure you that it’ll work

Step 1, deleting old Games for Windows Live

First delete the Games for Windows Live (GFWL), you can do this by pressing the windows button and going to your settings, after that select “apps” and search for “Microsoft Games”. When you do that correctly you should see 2 programs, “Microsoft GFWL -Live Redistributable” and “Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace”, delete them both.

Step 2, Downloading and lauching new GFWL

Go to this page: [link] and download the software setup, don’t launch it yet!
After That:

  • Right click on the program (gfwlivesetup.exe) and click on troubleshoot compatibility
  • Click on Troubleshoot program
  • Select “it worked in previous versions of windows” and “the program needs additional permissions”
  • Select Windows 7
  • Test the program
  • It should install now
  • Keep the settings

Step 3, fixing login issue

Now you will need to add GFWL to your Windows firewall, to do this you’ll need to go to your control panel and then:

  • Open your control panel
  • select “system and security”
  • find “Windows Defender Firewall” But don’t click it!
  • under Windows firewall should be “allow an app through Windows Firewall”, click that
  • In the top right corner “change settings”
  • At the bottom “allow another program”
  • search for your GFWL location and double left click on it

Step 4, logging in

When you start your Battlestations Pacific, Games for Windows Live will ask you to log in.
Use your Microsoft (xbox) account, now GFWL will download your profile to Battlestations.
After the download you’ll be able to complete achievements, message your friends, buy dlc’s from the Mircrosoft store and play with friends (or strangers) online.

Note: according to a commenter on the guide the first time you’re logging in it might take some time (5-10 minutes)

Conclusion

After all these steps you will be finally able to start Battlestations Pacific, now it should give you the GFWL box on the top, you will need to sign in with your microsoft account, if you don’t have one, create one. That’s it, if you have some questions, ask them!
