RimWorld Guide

Beating Cassandra, Losing Is Fun, Permadeath, Extreme Desert for RimWorld

Beating Cassandra, Losing Is Fun, Permadeath, Extreme Desert

Overview

How I beat this game on the hardest settings, and so can you!

Goal

I’m going to share my experience doing a Cassandra, Merciless, Permadeath, Lost Tribe colony in hopes that you can improve your future colonies.

This guide is not in depth, this guide gives you a basic idea of what I did.

Year One

Visuals

Day 10

Day 30

One Year Later

Food

I had to worry about cannibalism in my colony. On an extreme desert animals rarely come by. I had to grow potatoes immediately on day one and then later slaughter my own animals for food. Luckily this colony never resorted to cannibalism, but was malnourished here and there. Potatoes had to be harvested early to prevent huge mood hits.

Building

There is no wood on this extreme desert other then the precious wood given that I needed for passive coolers. I had to have multiple colonist work on stonecutting to get my buildings built.

Killbox

I set up a very simple killbox. Basically I lured a raider or two into a building and had my melee colonist beat them down as arrows got shoot at them.

Research

I had multiple colonist researching, the faster I got teched the better in this extreme desert.

Year Two

Visuals

Year two was great thanks to the research from year one. I basically focused on making a good close quarters killbox, clothing and armor for my colonist.

Year Three

Visuals

This year was kind of slow. Basically I focused on grinding up my colonist in experience.

Year Four

This year I focused on a better killbox, one that wasn’t close quarters like the previous one. It’s important to note I built the wall -> wall -> sandbag -> wall -> wall to prevent my colonist from getting sprayed down. Also inferno centipedes are less of a threat when they usually just hit the walls.

Year Five

Visuals

This year went very well. I basically brought cows, which ended up eventually blessing my colonist with fine meals. I also geared everyone up with devilstrand dusters, as they’re very good in combat and resisting heat.

Year Six Bunker & SpaceShip

Visuals

This year I focused hard on making an even better killbox. I also got into deep drilling and chemfuel production for my mortars and IED traps.

I also built an armory to the right of my killbox and a special plasteel storage room full of sliver and goodies.

I eventually started making a massive bunker and a massive staging area for my ship to get off the planet.

Year Seven Launching The Ship

Visuals

Starting the ship reactor

My killbox was a disaster due to the endless raids thanks to the ship reactor (15 days of raids).

I evacuated into my bunker since the raiders were too much to handle. Then mechanoids crash into my bunker via dropods and instantly kill zoey due to a roof crushing on her head.

Waiting for the ship reactor to finish, hoping I’ll make it.

Getting off the planet!!

All that remains.

Should I Do More / Put In More Effort?

This guide simply told you what I did to get off this Rimworld. Hopefully it was semi-helpful and gave you a in general idea of what to expect out of merciless Cassandra.

Want me to do more of these? Want me to put much more effort into these? Let me know with a Like and I’ll do a much more in depth guide on how I beat Cassandra, Losing Is Fun, Ice Sheet, Rich explorer, Royalty,
