Beating Final Nemesis in Nightmare/Inferno Mode for Resident Evil 3

Beating Final Nemesis in Nightmare/Inferno Mode

Overview

Some tips and tricks on how to beat the final boss on the hardest setting without getting your ass kicked.

Introduction

After finally beating the game on Inferno mode (after dying numerous times and screaming at the screen), I figured out some crucial tips that will help make beating Nemesis much easier, so I thought I’d make this guide. Obviously, beware of spoilers!

Preparation

Obviously, you can make this as easy or as hard as you want, but if you want to make it easier, I suggest stocking up on shop items that will help you.

The S.T.A.R.S. field manual is supposed to make the perfect dodge easier, but I found it didn’t REALLY make much of a difference, but if the dodge is something you struggle with you might need it anyway because in order to beat Nemesis you WILL need to dodge.

I also suggest getting a weapon (such as the rocket launcher or assault rifle) that will allow you to hit multiple targets at once because constantly firing at Nemesis will reduce the amount of times he attacks you.

Facing Nemesis

Now I need to make this very clear:

DO NOT STAND IN CORNERS OR AT THE VERY FAR BACK

Unless you are EXTREMELY good at using the perfect dodge multiple times, this will allow Nemesis to use his button mashing slaps, which is an instant kill.

Ideally, you want to stand halfway between Nemesis and the Railgun (Nemesis’s arm swipes are much easier to dodge), and avoid standing still. You will want to be moving and rapidly firing while being on the lookout for Nemesis’s attacks.

When you’re ready to turn on the power sources, you will want to do the furthest source FIRST as you get more time to head back and face Nemesis; his attacks get more aggressive after you plug in each power source. You’ll want to do the closest power source last as it will give you more time to head to the Railgun without Nemesis attacking you from behind.

Conclusion

This isn’t the best final boss design (the slapping stun-block is absolute BS) but if you’re willing to try to beat him on Nightmare or Inferno I hope this helped made it a little easier. If you have any other tips/tricks or need to me to add more info or visual aids, let me know in the comments.

Oh, and lastly, on Inferno mode, when you have to shoot Nicholai, AIM FOR THE CHEST! You don’t have auto-save so if you misfire you’ll have to do the fight with Nemesis all over again, something I learned the hard way.

Thank you!
