Multiplayer Intro

Bioshock 2 is the first game in the series to have multiplayer. The multiplayer takes place during the Civil war between Atlus and Ryan (before Bioshock 2’s story). You can play as either a Fraction of Ryan or Atlus’s cause.

There are currently 10 characters to choose from in the pc version of the game:

Game Modes

There are seven different game modes included in BioShock 2:

  • Survival of the Fittest
  • Civil War
  • Last Splicer Standing
  • Turf War
  • Capture the Sister
  • ADAM Grab
  • Team ADAM Grab
  • Kill ’em Kindly*

The team-based game modes let you play as either a Fraction for Andrew Ryan or Atlus

How to Get ADAM

Here is the list ADAM rewards:

  • Kill: 10 ADAM (20 in Last splicer standing)
  • Assist: 5 ADAM
  • Big Daddy Takedown: 100 ADAM
  • Hacking of a Machine: 10 ADAM.
  • Research Photo: 10 ADAM
  • ADAM Vials: 10 ADAM.
  • Killing Streak: 50 ADAM (must kill atleast 3 enemies)
  • Becoming a Big Daddy: 50 ADAM.
  • Trial Completion: From 75 to 1000 ADAM
  • Little Sister Capture: 100 ADAM

Weapons, Plasmids and Trials

There are a total of 15 Weapons and Plasmids avalible in Bioshock 2:

Level 1: Plasmids – Electro Bolt, Incinerate!, Winter Blast
Weapons – Pistol, Shotgun

Level 2: Weapons – Tommy Gun

Level 4: Plasmids – Aero Dash

Level 6: Weapons – Grenade Launcher

Level 8: Plasmids – Geyser Trap

Level 10: Weapons – Crossbow

Level 12: Plasmids – Telekinesis

Level 14: Weapons – Nail Gun

Level 16: Plasmids – Houdini

Level 18: Weapons – Elephant Gun

Level 20: Plasmids – Insect Swarm

There are three types of Trials that you can earn:

  • Weapons – 28 Trials (16 more with Sinclair Solutions DLC)
  • Plasmids – 34 Trials (1 more with Sinclair Solutions DLC)
  • General – 39 Trials (3 more with Sinclair Solutions DLC)

By completing these trials, you earn extra adam which in turn helps you level up quicker.

There are 16 different maps in Bioshock 2:

Core game Achievements:

Welcome to Rapture – Complete your first non-private match.
– Just play a match on any map, Core or DLC. Do not have to play whole game, just finish the game

Proving Grounds – Win your first non-private match.
-Same as above, except you must win the match. Do not have to play whole game, just finish it.

Man About Town -Play at least one non-private match on each multiplayer map
-Just play on every single CORE map (first 10) and finish the game.

Rapture Metro Pack DLC Achievements:

Aqua Incognita – Play at least one non-private match on each downloadable content map.
– Just play every single DLC map (Last 6). Do not have to play whole game, just finish it.

Territorial – Win a non-private match in each of the 6 new maps.
– All you have to do is win on all 6 DLC maps. Do not have to play whole game, just finish it.

Multiplayer Ranks and Corresponding Achievements

There are a total of 50 multiplayers ranks in Bioshock 2:

Level 1-9: Bronze Emblem
Level 10-19: Silver Emblem
Level 20-29: Gold Emblem
Level 30-39: Platinum Emblem
Level 40: Diamond Emblem
Level 41-50: Diamond Emblem*
Rebirth Level 1-50: Same Emblem but with three ~ ‘s around each side^

Once you hit level 50, you have an option to use something called Rebirth. This is like prestige mode in COD. You start over from one again and have to unlock everything again. The only difference is that you lose you stats on the leaderboards (Leaderboards seem to only be avalible on PS3 and Xbox).

Core Game Achievements:

Parasite – Achieve Rank 10
-All you have to do is keep playing untill you hit level 10. Need 9000 total adam.

Little Moth – Achieve Rank 20.
-All you have to do is keep playing untill you hit level 20. Need 25000 total adam.

Skin Job – Achieve Rank 30.
-All you have to do is keep playing untill you hit level 30. Need 53000 total adam.

Choose the Impossible – Achieve Rank 40.
-All you have to do is keep playing untill you hit level 40. Need 97000 total adam.

Rapture Metro DLC Achievements:

Reincarnation – Use Rebirth to start again!
-Once you hit level 50, you have to activate rebirth and you will start back from 1. Need 163000 total adam
