Overview
This guide is a walkthrough on getting started with clan creation and activities in the game Black Squad. Published as a Work-in-Progress.
Introduction
This is a clan specific guide for Black Squad, and should be considered a work in progress as it evolves with the game.
Ratings are appreciated!
Clan List
If you are just looking to join a clan, refer to the bottom of the main screen and you will find an icon that reads “Clan List.” As you would imagine, this page is a searchable database for every clan registered within Black Squad. This list can be sorted by a few options (such as total members, clan level, start date) with a drop down menu at the top of the page.

Alternatively, you can use the search feature if your looking to join a certain crew. In the following screenshot, I did a search for my clan for illustration.

If you want to start your own clan instead, move on to the Clan Creation section.
Clan Creation
Ok, so your new to Black Squad and you want to start your own clan… not so fast!
You’ll quickly notice that if you are going to start a clan, you’ll need to rank up to Sergeant to be able to do so. I personally gave the game a couple of days of casual grinding to get to this rank, however, I’m sure some of you guys are hard core enough to grind all day for it if you want it.
Once you hit the Sergeant rank you can easily create your own clan by clicking on the clan tab and giving it a name. I should mention that creating a clan is actually free, unlike similar FPS games with micro sale business models.
Clan Achievements
Unless I missed a few, the only two achievements that having a clan is required to unlock are as follows: “First day in a clan” and “Grab a gun, rookie.”
You could literally join a random clan, participate in one match, and be done with clans for the rest of your Black Squad career if you chose to do so. I know some of you loners out there are happy to read that.

I’d personally love to see the developers add a few more clan specific achievements to promote more clan activities in the game.
Clan Recruiting
When I created my clan I noticed it had a maximum of 50 players. I basically got a couple of steam friends into the clan and a couple alts for the hell of it. I plan on keeping the clan close knit instead of recruiting everyone that I run into, as my clan is actually a cross gaming group.
To get in on clan matches, you may want to recruit quite a few so that you can actually get in on more clan matches, more on this below. You can recruit members in game chat, or through the official discord and forums. Get creative, but please don’t use this guide to promote your own clans. Any comments asking other players to join their clans will be deleted from this guide.
Clan Matches
Once you get some clan mates, you’ll want to get into some clan matches. This is where you’ll want to have more then a few clan mates. You can start a clan match with a minimum of 3 clan members and a couple of randoms, but there are no obligations for the random players to stick around for your match so you’ll want to have a full 5 man team ready for your first clan match, or it could quickly be your first clan “Lose” on your clan record.
I recommend getting at least 5 guys in your clan to have enough guys ready to play clan matches when you are, that way you at least have a dependable crew going in.
You’ll need to have a clan active enough in clan matches to acquire a clan logo. More on that in the Clan Logo section.
Clan Logo
To acquire a clan logo in Black Squad, you’ll need to place in the top 10 in the weekly clan rankings with your clan mates. Clan participation is a must, not optional.
Clan logos appear to be selected from a list of predone clan logos created by the Black Squad development team.
Clan Outfitting
An interesting idea that you may want to do with your clan is outfitting with uniform skins. This is assuming, of coarse, that your mates have deep pockets or that you are willing to purchase their gear. The game recently (In April 2018) had an update that allows a gamer to buy or sell their permanent skins on the Steam Community Market which would make this a very realistic possibility.
I can already see the guys thinking about getting all their clan mates to drop some of their paycheck for dragon skins, or some gamer girl clans getting their cherry guns ready. I foresee we will start to see more diversity in the skins available for the game and some of the more established clans out there may take this idea and run with it.
*** Update – Beware that some of the skins I previously acquired on market are now Not Tradable and Not Marketable, leaving me with some duplicate items. Make sure you only purchase the skins you intend to use, if you are trying to buy and sell skins to make some cash or stash some for later trades you may be burning money. ***
Closing your Clan
If you decide that running a clan is not for you, or you just want to join a more active group, you can close your clan easily. Simply go to your clan page in game, and look for the link “Close Clan” in the upper right hand corner of the screen above your member list.

I circled the option in red in the screenshot above, you can’t miss it. I personally will likely never click on this intentionally, but the option is certainly there if you need it.
