Intro
Welcome to BTD Battles. Where we attack with a deadly rubber force and defend with our little but powerful monkeys wielding from a dart to shooting sunrays!
This guide aims to help newbies out on how to efficiency rush and defend rushes, not how to survive as long as round 40 or further. But if you want that,I’ll tell you how in 1 word :
Supa-Vac

Know your enemies : The rubber army
These bloons have many tricks and immunity so watch out.
Yellow and Pinks are the fastest bloons in the game.
Black and white bloons and any higher ones contains 2 of a lower tier.
Black bloon are immune to explosions except the most powerful ones.
White bloons are immune to freezing.
Zebras are immune to both.
Leads are immune to sharp objects.
Regrow/Regen bloons can slowly regain lost layers but not further than its original one. They are also capable of multiplying. For example : A regrow black bloon turned into 2 pinks,if those are left unharmed, they can turn into 2 blacks instead.
Camo bloons are undetected by many towers.
Ceramics takes 10 hit to crack and reveals 2 rainbows.
MOAB class bloons, known as blimps, moves very slowly but is very tough. Contains 4 childrens instead of 2. Also immune to glue and freezing.
There are 3 kinds of MOABs : MOAB (blue),BFB(red) and ZOMG(green)
Deadly aren’t they? Now let’s see what we’ve got to defend them.
Know your towers : The default
This little guy has been here since the original BTD1. And he is still powerful. But not as much with tier 2. He has camo sight with an upgrade and can pierce through 4 bloons per shot. Can be a bit effective if spammed, but I wouldn’t recommend him for now. But he can do some work.
Another BTD1 ol’ pal. At the start,he has no camo sights or lead popping power at all. I think you may consider skipping it for now.
Yet another BTD1 goodies. It has an area splash attack. But it is not infinite like some players believe! Each explosion can only hit up to 40 bloons. And can be increased slightly with bigger bombs and missile launcher. It has the ability to pop leads. But not camo. It’s frag bomb upgrade can be pretty useful early on,so overall a powerful tower to start with.
This guy starts with a camo sight immediately. And provide a good accuracy attack against spaced bloons. Can even be useful when spammed without upgrade. I’d say a must take for newbies.
This guy. Without upgrades,he can pop 2 layers (hit a same bloon twice per shot),can be upgraded to pop 4 layers and hit leads and even 7 layers that completely erases leads. He also have camo sight. Both combined can defend a very deadly rush. Which will be mentioned later.
Something that worth : Tier 2 Unlockables
Since I don’t have much time for now,I’ll only mention some useful towers.
He is a very popular tower. Most people place him at the start of a match. Which is quite an incorrect way to use him. He has quite low popping power. But can pop any bloon types without upgrades (but can’t see camo without “monkey sense”),his lightning bolt upgrade allows mass defensive layer (leads, zebra, black, white) removal, allowing certain towers like bomb towers to clean up with ease.
Tier 2 is a must take for newbies. The later tiers aren’t so powerful.
He can only be placed on water. But has a large range, without upgrades can pierce 5 bloons and shoot at a considerable rate, his grape shot gives widespread small boost to your firepower. An effective ways to use him is to spam grape shot boats without any other upgrades.
Provides bananas. Which provide money$$$. Unlike bloon economy,it can be sold for an emergency situations. Like defending a rush or doing a rush yourself. But remember, when you cash out farms, your economy will get decreased and you may struggle against extended rushes. A must take here.
One of the most used towers by most experienced players. Is useful since tier 2. It is quite simple to use. And is as powerful as it is nerfed for many times (and its tier 4 is still extremely overpowered). To use it,simply spam it without any upgrades (or upgrade left path 2 times for leads and ceramics),set its targeting to strong,it will slow down a rush’s progress significantly in number.
Another one of the most powerful towers, powerful at tier 2. Proper usageof this is to upgrade “Airburst darts” in the right path. It allows the main dart to split into 3 darts each with 3 popping power (3 pierce),which cannot be increased in any ways by barbed darts. later on,you can get “advanced intel” which allows the sub to target bloons that other towers can target. If another tower has camo sight, the sub will also target them.
Done for now. Here’s some interesting tier 3.
Something that worth : Tier 3 unlockables
It is more powerful now with the triple dart upgrades. The 2 added darts also gain dart modifiers from other upgrades (sharp shots, camo sights,etc.),spike-o-pult is quite weak and is not efficient for now. But Triple Darts is a must take so take it with you. Spamming them can be effective against higher tier rushes.
Cluster bombs allows a powerful cleaning power while moab maulers deals huge damage to bombs. This can be powerful. But since for the time you’ve unlocked it,you still have no tower that has decent power and pops both camo and leads, you may have to sacrifice farm in order to use it.
Cannon ship now pops camo and leads. Destroyer provides quite a lot of powerful tower. It is considerable powerful so you can take it for water maps.
More money. Not much to say. But Banana Plantation is still more cost efficient than banana republic. So build as much plantations as possible before upgrading to republics.
This guy will only aim at a desired spot. But now has the ability to remove camo from bloons! It also applies burning effect which will eat through 2-3 additional layers from bloons. Can be quite powerful for 1 entrance maps. For aiming, aim at a center of a curve/corner so the explosion will hit the whole area.
Also removes camo, place it as you would aim a mortar. Right side has ballistic missile which is one of my favorite upgrade (as much as I put it as my profile picture),it pops up to 100 bloons per missile, has unlimited range and does 3 damage to ceramics/moab. Does not seem to be affected by advanced intel’s camo sight. So bring a camo-lead popper or use a submerge camo removal.
For your first day, unlocking thse all would be enough. Enough talking about defense. Let’s talk about offense as well.
Attacking Force : Bloon Eco , Rushes and their combinations
On the panel, you’ll see various kinds of bloons to send.
The upper row is tightly grouped bloons.
The lower row is spaced, slowly spawning bloons with the exception of $675 rainbows which is packed.
Adding Regen/Regrow will multiply bloon’s price by *1.8
Adding Camo will multiply bloon’s price by *2.2
Sending bloons will increase your bloon economy, known as “eco” or “income”. This income is a green number under your current cash and delivers every 6 seconds.
Most bloons will give *0.04 of their price (excluding regen/camo modifiers) eco increase when you send it. Which pays back itself in 2 and a half minutes. Which these exceptions :
Spaced whites gives 3.
Grouped (Lower row costing $675) rainbows gives 2.
Grouped Leads gives 6.
Spaced Ceramics gives none.
Grouped Ceramics decreases eco by 5.
Spaced MOAB decreases eco by 60.
Grouped MOAB decreses eco by 140.
Grouped/Spaced BFB decreases eco by 350
ZOMG decreases eco by 1500.
Here we’ll mention some often used and/or poweful rushes that will be useful for your first day.
Enemy is too greedy with farms/eco and not building enough defense, this can keep their greed in check. Just spam pinks.
Used by many good players, these blacks combined with round 7’s quite strong natural bloons can leak your opponent, force them to use a boost, sell a farm or (unusually) kill them.
Now we are on the killing level.
Spamming regular yellow can easily make quick work of your opponent. Adding some regrow whites can let them multiply into even more bloons and kill your opponent. Considering that they may have used their boost on round 7 and is waiting on a cooldown.
Leads are immune to many attacks but has a horrible spawn rate, many people sent a set of these then layer pinks/yellows on them to either hide them or make towers’ attack stop on the leads and make the other bloons progress. Can easily force boosts
This is the most destructive rush in the entire game. Enough that many things like super monkey or even its ability can hit them slower than their regenerations. They are OP,deadly and extremely cheap. For more details on how to counter them : Look here.
Or if you don’t believe it’s good.
I am going to get reported and banned for sharing how to beat the indestructible rush. So cya guys when I’m unbanned. RIP.
Many people forgot their camo detection. So these speedy things can easily dash through their defense.
Slow and steady, this thing can take a century to slowly crawl through enemy defense while being immune to many things. Only a few towers can hit them. And no,boosting towers that can’t hit them won’t help anything.
Here is when people start to actually kill, sending an extended rush of zebras can easily leak and force boost your enemy. If they boost, you can sell some farms if you have and rush again with stronger rushes like regrow zebras and rainbows. These rushes are very deadly.
Enemy still survive? Sending them a few grouped regrow leads then a lot of regrow zebra after can prove fatal due to them overlapping and sharing various resistances.
He’s still not dead, spam moabs and pray now.
Gameplay footage (Eco only)
So I decided to create a fresh new account and play from the start with only eco.
Enjoy!
Conclusion
These should be all you need for your very first day journey. Tier 4s? I’d say dart, ninja, mortar, farm, ace, buccaneer, sub, chipper is pretty worth it. For now, this guide is going to be a wall of text. I am looking forward to adding more pictures here. If you think anything is wrong, tell me in the comment.
