Overview

Using AI upscaling techniques, I was able to upscale the awful 720p rendered cutscenes to 2160p/4K. The videos went through two phases of upscaling techniques to add details and reduce the noise and aliasing caused by low resolution cutscenes.

Introduction

This probably would not be as important to replace or upscale the original cutscene with upscaled as there is only 2 cutscenes (apart from the opening cutscene in different languages) that are pre-rendered.

Any who, these cutscenes render at native 720p. Runs on WMV file which practically uses Windows Media Player within the game to load and play these videos, whilst hiding the interface of the WMP.

These upscales, shove the resolution to 2160p/4K, while adding detail and reduce aliasing using AI upscaling models.

Keep a look out for other games, that I will be upscaling video files.
If anyone knows how to export and import audio files, I could possibly take out the noise out of the audio files.

60fps is impossible at the moment. Game plays these video files well at 60fps, but ends prematurely.

I am not sure, if I should upscale the intro cutscenes, in other languages (they are in English but with subtitles). Comment below on what you think. For now, I will only upscale the English Cutscene.

The file size might be tremendously larger, as I am against compressing the upscale (as there potentially could be loss of detail), so expect the file size to be large.

Instructions

Simply drag and drop the folder into Steamapps –> common folder (make a backup of the original video files in case any issue rises).

Let the files overwrite the original files and that is all!

Would have posted comparison screenshots but I deleted/overwritten the original movie files.
