Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered – Drop FPS Solutions

Overview

Hey there. So, if the Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare game is part of your childhood like mine, you probably has the Remastered Edition on your steam libery. if so, you might notice that once again, Activation is feeding us with a unoptimized (not well, at least) PC port, and the game is rather unplayable, fps speaking. The problem: Very drastic fps drops (down to the 5~3 FPS), in a vary situations – mostly when looking at the distance or area in the game. completly unplayable. Now, it has nothing to do with how strong is your CPUGPU, as even those who has 6950X and GTX 1080 got this problem. for the record, the game should run smooth enough on any modern GPU. (260X750Ti and onward according to GD)In that guide, I collect some possible solutions, each one should help. that’s until the game is patched. if they even care.Solutions Update your NVIDIAAMD drivers I don’t know about AMD, but from NVIDIA perspective, it’s seems like the latest drivers optimize the game. AMD must have done the same. Set your Graphics Settings and restart the computerI don’t know how, but I find that helping. when you play with the settings, the game seems to be unstable, as well as filling the VRAM. start it fresh. Turn off in-game VSYNC, turn it on via AMDNVIDIA Control Panel (if you want to) The game VSYNC is rather broken too. also, for NVIDIA users, I strongly recommend using Adaptive VSYNC here. Turn off “Fill remaning memory”. That setting seems to be making some more use of the GPU instead of the CPU, it won’t reduce the graphic level but it sure will prevent drop fps, especially on less than 4GB RAM GPUs. Turn off “Medium Distance Ambient Occlusion”. That setting will reduce the graphics level a bit, but says to prevent those 5fps when looking on distance. that seems to be broken feature, so better be off until fixed, if any. Turn off “Medium Distance Ambient Occlusion”. That setting will reduce the graphics level a bit, but says to prevent those 5fps when looking on distance. that seems to be broken feature, so better be off until fixed, if any. Turn off “Subsurface Scattering”. Same as the one above. Turn on both “Cache SunSpot Shadow Maps”. *Only on >4GB RAM GPUs. prevents mid-game stutters.Another Recommendations Don’t use any Supersampling level Unless you’ve got a GTX 1070 SLI or something. extremly demanding. Turn on “Shader Predload” if off That will give you a longer loading missionmatch time, but will prevent mid-game processing following potential stutters. Turn off “Shader Predload During Cinematics” That setting will load the missionsmatchs faster but will give you very stuttering cinematics.Using those, you should be able to play the game smoothly and enjoy the remastered graphics, sound and other splendid renovations. even when reducing the graphics a bit, it’s still looks way more better than the original COD4MW.
