Overview
The guide will cover all of the callers in theHunter: Call of the Wild. Callers are used to attract their targeted species when they’re not in stressed state. Some animals, may respond to your call by making a vocal response, e.g. an Elk may communicate by making a sound called a bugle. In this guide I will cover what animals callers are for, as well as covering the range, duration, and strength. Scents are attractants that aim the olvactory senses of the animals for attraction.
How to use Callers
-
Overview of Range, Duration and Strength
These are pretty self explanatory, but for those who are new to the uses of animal callers here is an explanation.
-
Range
Range is the amount of distance the call can cover. Lets say you have a caller with a range of 200 meters and an animal is 250 meters away, the animal will not be attracted by the caller until within range of 200 meters, at that point call in the animal again.
-
Duration
Duration is how long the call lasts. In my opinion I’d use a call every 15 – 30 seconds unless it’s a bird call where I would use the caller 4 or 5 times in a row and then take a 15 – 30 second break of calling.
-
Strength
Strength is how much of an attraction chance the caller has. Of course the higher the strength number the better chance of attraction. I am not quite sure how this exactly works in the game seeing as pretty much all of the callers have a strength of 40.
My Opinion
Honestly most of the callers just work anyways no matter what the strength is. I think strength might have an effect on how quickly the animal decides to approach the location of where the call was made. The only thing that truly matters is the range of the caller. Does the way you use the caller actually affect anything? Most likely in very minor ways. For example overcalling isn’t going to make the animal nervous, calls just won’t register since they’re so frequent. Out of all that i’ve played the best way to lure in animals with callers is to use the caller every 15 or 20 seconds.
