Notes Before Starting
Thank you for checking out this game and for supporting Captain Disaster!
The developer is currently working on implementing Steam Achievements, but there is a system in-game that is working just fine! EDIT: As of 05/27/2020, the Steam Achievements for this game are live! They will not pop through normal play; however, they will mass-unlock as you visit the trophy room, which is found in the options. The game also takes you there automatically upon completion of the game.
This game will require 2 playthroughs to 100%. Take your time on the first playthrough, because you will need to play over three hours for an achievement. The second playthrough must be completed in less than half an hour. I was able to knock it out in about 15 minutes, so you have plenty of time.
You may find navigation a little slow. Midway through the game, there is an item that will speed things up, but there is an achievement for not using this item. There is a “game speed” slider in the options that makes everything run faster, you may want to set that to max.
Total playtime exceeding one hour.
Playing time exceeds 3 hours.
Complete the game in under half an hour.
Complete the game without using the hoverboard.
The Left Side of the Moon
WALK to the FAR upper left corner. Right click LOOK at the camper and both bushes.
Continue to right click LOOK at everything on the overworld map, including all of the bushes.
Save going into the hotel for later, we will come back to that.
TAKE DUCT TAPE from the camper and a RODDENBERRY from the bush.
TAKE GREENS and PUDDING from on top of the brick wall.
TAKE ROCK from right near the entrance to the hotel, and visit the far lower left corner.
TAKE SEALANT SPRAY and PHASER from the shipwreck.
TAKE USED TICKET from the blue AGS mug/wastepaper basket
USE: the phaser on a bunch of stuff until an achievement pops.
Try to use the phaser/enhanced phaser on 10 or more objects.
By the ice rink, if you walk over it just right, you can kick the ice cube to the edge.
USE PHASER on ICE CUBE to get FLYING SAUCER.
USE RODDENBERRY on PUDDING to get SUNDAE.
USE SEALANT SPRAY on TICKET to get REUSABLE TRAM TICKET.
ALSO: make sure to walk in the hole between the monkey head and the cup:
(If you do it right, the dialogue says “rubber tree!”)
USE TICKET on MONOLITH to move to the other side.
Repeat this step a few times for an achievement.
Travel on the train at least 10 times.
The Right Side of the Moon
Continue right click LOOKING at everything.
When you have examined 10 bushes, you will get an achievement.
Look at 10 Roddenberry Bushes.
Also, When you visit the far upper right and far lower left corners of this side as well, you will get another achievement.
Visiting all four Corners of the Moon.
TAKE: SEVERED HAND from the battlefield
TAKE: LENS from the mine
COMBINE: LENS with PHASER to get SUPER PHASER
There’s another hole to the left of the crate, make sure you visit it:
Back to the Left Side of the Moon
USE the SUPER PHASER on the TOOLBOX in the camper van
GET: CROWBAR and JUMPER CABLES from TOOLBOX
EXAMINE: Stargate controls
USE: CROWBAR on panel
TAKE: DULL CRYSTAL
Go to: Hotel. Speak with the hologram about every possible dialogue.
USE: JUMPER CABLES on FLYING SAUCER to get SAUCER WITH WIRES
USE: DULL CRYSTAL on FLYING SAUCER WITH WIRES to get WORKING FLYING SAUCER
USE: DUCT TAPE ON SEVERED HAND to get STICKY HAND
USE: STICKY HAND on FLYING SAUCER to get MAKESHIFT BUTTON PRESSING DEVICE
USE: MAKESHIFT BUTTON PRESSING DEVICE ON PANEL
You now have access to the hotel!
Make sure to examine all art in the building for an achievement.
Look at all the paintings in the hotel.
GO TO: Floor 1. Take MEGAPHONE. Use PHASER on BEACHBALL ALIEN for CUBE
GO TO: Floor 2: Take CAMERA from on top of dresser. Take GORDIAN KNOT from inside dresser.
GO TO: Floor 3: Take WIDGET from desk.
GO TO: Floor 4. Take STARGATE MANUAL from BED. Power up the PC and read all emails.
Read every available email.
GO TO: Ground Floor. Use WIDGET on TELEPORTER.
Teleport to: Penthouse. Take SUSPENDERS from one of the drawers.
Back to the Right Side of the Moon
USE: CROWBAR on CRATE.
TAKE: HOVERBOARD.
If you’ve been following along, this is your fourteenth item and you will get an achievement.
Have 14 items in your inventory at one time.
REMINDER: using the hoverboard locks you out of an achievement.
USE: SUNDAE on EVIL MAESTRO for an achievement.
Make a sundae and try to give it to The Maestro.
USE: GORDIAN KNOT on DIVISION BELL for another achievement. This is a bad end, but you get the option to restore without penalty.
Use Gordian Knot with Division Bell to destroy the universe.
Visit the Chasm in the south.
USE: SUSPENDERS on OUTCROP (near the right edge of the crater) for a GLOWING CRYSTAL. If you got the other holes, you also get an achievement.
Disappear into three holes in the ground.
Going back north, Use the CUBE on the glowing slot to vanquish the evil dude.
Use the MEGAPHONE on the diamond with the code “shine on” several times to restore its glory.
Return to the hologram in the hotel to report your success and earn an achievement:
Go through every dialogue option with Floyd.
Note: possibly bugged at this time
Endgame and Final Puzzle
Return to the Stargate control panel on the left side of the moon.
Place the POWERED CRYSTAL from the chasm in the slot where the dull crystal came from.
We need to set the control panel to the intergalactic version of *69.
Going clockwise from position 1, enter this code:
Apple x4, Commodore x4, Windows x4, Atari x4.
Press the central button and you will get a scrambled dial code. This solution is randomized every game!
Before touching anything, use CAMERA on the controls! Now you have a snapshot of the puzzle to refer to if you mess up!
You need to modify this code by switching symbols.
- Switch the symbol in position 1 with the symbol in position 10.
- Switch the symbol in position 2 with the symbol in position 14.
- Switch the symbol in position 3 with the symbol in position 7.
- Switch the symbol in position 4 with the symbol in position 6.
- Switch the symbol in position 5 with the symbol in position 11.
- Switch the symbol in position 8 with the symbol in position 9.
- Switch the symbol in position 12 with the symbol in position 16.
- Switch the symbol in position 13 with the symbol in position 15
When you hit the central button, you have cleared the game! Congrats!
Complete the game.
