Overview
This guide describes where to find the three possible companions in Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.
Introduction
Unlike the previous Castlevania games, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse introduces the possibility to recruit a follower and then switch between characters at any time. Those followers have to be found first though. This guide explains what the followers can do and where to find them.
Keep in mind that you can only have one companion at a time. If you recruit a second one the first one will leave.
Grant Danasty
Description:
Grant Danasty, also often referred to as the Pirate King, has the ability to climb along walls and ceilings. He can also use subweapons while clinging to a wall or ceiling. He is less resistant to damage then Trevor and his knife has very low range. In the Japanese version of the game he throws his knife, which makes him a lot more viable in battle though.
How to find Grant:
At the first crossroads, take the upper path.
Defeat the boss to recruit Grant.
Sypha Belnades
Description:
Sypha is able to cast powerful spells. She can have one spell at a time equipped as a subweapon. There’s a high damage flame blast, an ice blast that freezes and immobilizes enemies and three high damage energy orbs that follow targets to some degree and are especially useful against boss enemies. Sypha is less resistant to damage than Trevor.
How to find Sypha:
At the second crossroads, take the upper path.
Defeat the boss to recruit Sypha.
Alucard
Description:
Alucard has the ability to turn into a bat and fly anywhere. Being in bat form drains his hearts though. He attacks while shooting a ball of dark fire. Finding a weapon upgrade grants him an additional fireball the maximum being three. Fully upgraded he has a very wide attack arc. Alucard is as resistant to damage as Trevor.
How to find Alucard:
At the second crossroads, take the lower path.
Defeat the boss to recruit Alucard.

I hope this guide helps you pick the character you want to use and find them.
