Overview
Use the maximum resolution for your screen that the original Prototype doesn’t “provide”.
First step
Prototype doesn’t allow Full-HD setting, graphics cards subsequent to the game’s release date aren’t correctly identified by the Activision title, which limits the resolution to 1280 × 720.
To modify this problem you need to download the file with the extension .dll, called: “prototypeenginef.dll” that you find at this link:
Before doing the search you MUST DELETE THIS SPACE or the search doesn’t work (I cannot link on these guides)!

Copy and paste this link into the search bar, start the download (possibly save it on the desktop which makes everything faster) and once downloaded extract everything by right clicking on the folder and click on “Extract all …”
Second step
Once extracted, the file will be copied or moved to the game folder, which (if you haven’t changed the destination during installation) you will find in:
c:steamsteamappscommonPrototype
You can also get there easily from the Steam library by right-clicking on the name of the game, positioning yourself on “Manage” and clicking on “Browse local files”.
In the window that will open you have to copy the file “prototypeenginef.dll” replacing it with the existing one.
At the next opening the game will have the optimal resolution!

This solution aligns the resolution of the game and that of the monitor used. So if you have a 3200 × 2400 screen, Prototype will run at this latest resolution (or at least it would be nice xD), it just fits!
