Overview
Cheap tactics that any new player can do. Not all of them are cheap but I included them anyway.WARNING: Trying these out tend to trigger those with a short fuse. Use at your own risk!
Information
This guide will show you how to pull some of the most cheap tactics the game offers. These are easy for new players to try because they are not to difficult to do. I’ve also thrown in some legitimate tactics for those who have surpassed the ways of the cheap-nauts.
If you also have any ideas then don’t be afraid to leave a comment.
Bounce Pads of Death
Yuri is a playable naut that is able to place mines on the ground. These mines can deal a lot of damage if stacked on each other. Placing a ton of mines above a bounce pad or in any kind of ‘hidden area’ where the enemy is unable to see in allows for an easy kill. The enemy naut will use the bounce pad as normal only to realise they are going into certain doom.
Ayla Wallhack
If Ayla buys the ‘bigger bubble upgrade’ then their rage bubble is actually able to clip through the floor of certain maps. It is a good harassing technique on Sorona but it’s also especially useful on Ribbit IV. It can be used to attack enemies behind the first turret in the top lane. It can also catch recallers off guard as they don’t expect to get hit and it allows for some extra damage or even a kill.
Totem of Overpower
Skree’s Totem of Power can be used as an instant wall. However, if place above the 2 middle bounce pads in Aiguillon allows you to trap anyone that enters the bounce pads under the totem. Combining this with a stationary saw and it is essentially a free kill.
Leon and the Mines
If there is a Leon and a Yuri on the same team there is a chance they will pull this combo. The Yuri can place a bunch of mines in one position with the leon hanging around while in stealth. As soon as an enemy naut comes near, the Leon can tounge the enemy and pull them into the mines. If the mines are fully upgraded then it pretty much results in an instant kill.
Gnaw’s Health Stash
Gnaw can place weedlings that automatically attack nearby enemies. However, if Gnaw plants them in the creep spawn he the weedlings attack the creeps. The health is given to the Gnaw no matter where he is in the map. It also gains 3 solar every time one is killed. This can be used but abused. Allies might not like the fact that you essentially own the creep spawn so try to do it in the enemy creep spawn to avoid your own team getting angry at you.
Ix and the Worm
Ix can swap places with a teammate or an enemy. There is also an instant-kill worm in the map Sorona. This means that Ix can teleport an enemy in the worm area with a teammate activating the button which causes the worm to kill the enemy.
An Anchor to Hell
Admiral Swiggins is able to drag enemy nauts down the bottom of the Starstorm Station into the depths of space. This immediately kills the enemy naut. It is actually much harder to pull off but if done correctly it can be used to get a quick kill.
Derpl Salt Generator
If Derpl places a snare trap infront of a portal or above a bounce pad then he can wait for an unsuspecting naut to fall into the trap and then rain hell on them. By the time they see the trap, it will be too late!!
Leon Backdoor
If a Leon or a Ksenia turns invisible they can sneak passed enemy defenses and destroy the base. This can only be done if the base is exposed and enemy nauts are pushing a turret etc. allowing you to take out their base with ease while the opponents attempt to recall to base quickly.
Fat Power
If two nauts with large hitboxes go either side of an enemy naut in a small, enclosed area they can trap them in there while completely destroying the enemy. This is done best on Aiguillon in the hiding area at the bottom of the map as there is almost no way for enemy nauts to escape unless they have escape abilities (such as Froggy G dash ability).
Mine Field
Buying these 2 upgrades (Aerial Spring and Carpet Bomb) allows Yuri to make millions of mines that bounce around all over the place. It can be really annoying for the enemy team to make it through them. I actually use this build quite often as Yuri and I’ve experienced some angry players. Also, combining this with the cooldown upgrade allows for even more mines to be active at once.
Invisible Sneak Attack
Vinnie and Spike can buy the Mammoth Sock with Holes upgrade (the one that makes you invisible) for the Smoke Screen ability. It makes all allies in the smoke screen invisible for about 2.5 seconds. This can be used (in premades) to cloak all allies and do burst damage.
