Christmas Adventure Assistance

Overview

Just a quick guide to help with a confusing HOG scene!

Introduction

I really dislike using a hint while playing a Hidden Object Game, probably because many of the HOGs have achievements for not using a hint for the entire game. Being forced to use a hint because of poor translations makes me want to write a guide! Ha ha

I hope this simple guide will save someone the use of a hint, or if the developers happen to stumble across this they will update the game.

Sea Urchin!?

I spent a couple minutes scouring the image to make sure there really wasn’t a Sea Urchin hidden in the wallpaper, or somewhere else, before finally using a hint. The “tiara” was the “sea urchin” so I guess that is why I couldn’t find it. I’ve played enough HOGs to know this happens in more than one of these games.

Plummet

As soon as I saw this word in the list I knew it was going to be most likely wrong. However, it was close enough to allow me to find the object without a hint. In actuality the object you are looking for is a (scale) weight.

In the way of encouraging learning, this is a plummet, or as it is also referred to, a plumb line, used in construction.

Stocking

This is mostly for the developers, and is just a technicality. I know this is very nit-picky, but may as well be accurate. The best word to use for this object, in my opinion, is stocking. “Their stockings were hung by the fireplace…”

Piggy Bank

Another nit-picky, syntax issue given American nomenclature. A place where people, typically kids, keep their money, that is shaped like a pig, is more commonly referred to as a “piggy bank” and not a “moneybox”, especially since it is not a box shape.

Conclusion

Please do not mistake this guide as a complaint, as it is not. It is simple an attempt to assist folks with accuracy in case the game was to be updated. I understand the difficulty in translating games between languages, so I hope this is helpful in some small respect.
