Chronicon Guide

CHRONICON SCROLLS for Chronicon

CHRONICON SCROLLS

Overview

Warning, this guide contains spoilers!I was looking for a detailed list of Chronicon scroll information and wasn’t able to find one so rounded up all the relevant information in game and I made this guide. This is the first guide I have written, constructive feedback is appreciated.

CRAFTING A SPELL CODEX

Crafting a spell codex takes 50 scrolls of the spell you wish to turn into a codex. The recipe also requires a blank spell codex. The finished spell codex will allow casting of the spell scroll ability an unlimited amount of times versus scrolls, which are consumed on use.

To craft the spell codex:

  • Bring 50 scrolls of the spell you wish to inscribe to a codex and a blank codex to the transmutation NPC, Theo.
  • Right click the stack of scrolls and codex to put them onto the transmutation altar.
  • Click the Transmute button on the right.
  • Find the completed codex in your inventory.

CODEX AND SKILL RANKS AND VALUES

Note:
As shown in the graphic on the left the codex will cast Repulse at rank 3.

Notice that the the maximum rank of Repulse is 3. The green text from the graphic lists values that change based on the number of skill points assigned to the skill. Since there are three possible ranks with Repulse and the crafted codex is rank 3 the maximum values should be used. The maximum values are 7 meters for knockback and 120% Lightning damage. Meanwhile, the maximum values for damage (66,654 – 90,178) will change based on the stats on the character sheet and should be ignored.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

First off a big thank you to https://old.reddit.com/user/geo981010 for the following information is merited. Thank you very much https://old.reddit.com/user/geo981010!

Using multiple codices in the same build is possible. However there are some limitations:

  • There is a shared cool down for codices. The cool down for all codices will be determined by the codex used.
  • The cool down of the skill is not always the same as the cool down on the codex. The most common cool down is 4 seconds, but can range from 2 to 10 seconds.
  • A codex will be created at the level of the character at the time it is transmuted.
  • A minimum skill point requirement of up to 34 (level 34) has been implemented for some skills. Creating a level 1 codex is an extremely beneficial trick for gaining access to skills early on.
  • Scrolls can be obtained from the gambler NPC, Tarot. It takes ~200 million crystals to gamble 50 of each unique scroll. During the process of gambling 50 of all pink scrolls it is estimated that the player will receive ~100 of each purple scroll and ~200 or each blue scroll.
  • Codices can be used to double up on skills. For example, a player can cast Bone Storm from a codex and the skill as they are on separate cool downs.
  • Passive skills can be triggered by using a codex if skill points are allocated, this works even if the active skill isn’t slotted on the hot bar. For example, a player can cast a Bone Storm codex and Exoskeleton can trigger if skill points have been allocated to Exoskeleton.
  • Other relic cool downs are separate from codex the cool downs (codices are considered relics).
