Cirno’s General tips for playing Stellar Tactics, current version v0.90

Intro

Hello fellow Tacticians, my name is Cirno and today i show you some tips for Stellar Tactics

Weapons Tips

As you generated your Character(s) you could put some point in some weapons skills, which determines your starting weapons. I recommend creating all 4 chars by hand so you can get a variety of lvl 1 weapons, which you can use to train other chars later in the game

Weapons Overview
Pistols: Good Damage, poor range , uses 2 ap for a normal Shot. Can be fired 4-5 times in a turn. Most pistols have a range from 5-10 so they wont be useful for sniping xD

Smg’s : Similar damage and range compared to Pistols, but most smgs have burst and ful auto modes too. Note an Burst uses 3 bullets while an full aauto uses 12 Bullets, but is quite powerful like an heavy weapon.

Shotguns : Very good damage at close range which gets better when the enemy is close to you. Most Shotguns have an Range from 6-10, making them good for close Quarter combat

Rifles : Good Range , Average Damage. Rifles have a Variety of long Range Rifles which have a Range from 25 to 35 i think. Most of them have single and Burst fire Modes, but can be equipped with Trigger mods that enable Full auto Shooting which is deadly but costs good ap and Ammo

Heavy Weapons
Damage of Heavy weapons are Calculated with Total Hit chance, they cant miss if % to hit isnt 0
Heavy Weapons come in a Variety of Weapons which do moderate to High Damage and uses 7 Ap
Flame Throwers: 7 Range mostly, Good Damage, Uses Flamethrower fuel, sadly no Burn effect on Enemies yet
Miniguns : Around 20 Range Moderate Dps, Good for enemys That are Closing in
Laser Beam Weapons: Good Range (35 – 40+) good for sniping Enemies that are far away
Rocket Launchers: Best Range of all Weapons, Area of Effect Damage which damages Enemies and Allies in the blast i think 5 cells around the Blast, works best in groups of Stunned enemies from a Stun grenade.

Pugilism: Poor Range, Quite Good Damage, No Reload Required, No Ammo Used, Sadly no Martial Arts Combos Yet. Maybe We can get Fist Weapons Later

One Handed Melee Weapons
They Come in a Variety of Daggers, And Maces, poor Range (3.5), uses 2 ap. No Ammo Required.
(I have no Experience with them, Anyone who has feel free to post your Experiences here)
Two Handed Melee Weapons
As Above They Come in a Variety of Spears, Swords and Hammers. Range 3.5 Damage too low for the 3 Ap usage i think.
(post your Experiences with them if you like)

Tips: Dont use Weapons that use the same Ammo on Different Characters. ( chars with shotguns Drain your ammo Faster than you can say: Dude, whees my Ammo.
Dont use an 6-7 ap weapon on an enemy that is nearly dead. sure you geet weapon exp for it , but its better to swap to your sidearm via T button and use that weapon instead
Reload weapons after Combat with right clicking on the reload icon(it reloads all equipped weapons.
Heavy Weapons tip: if you have an empty weapon and only 8 ap switch your heavy weapon to another one and fire that instead of reloading the old one and be unable to shoot it.

Stats Tips

As you level up your Characters, you get 5 status points to Distribute to your Characters stats

Strength: Small Health Boost each level, also increases pugilism and Melee Weapons Damage
Agility : Makes you act faster in the turn Bar , also lets you Dodge Melee attacks more often
Dexterity: Increases damage of all wapon types: your hacking skill, and ability to craft items in future updates
Endurance: Increases the maximum Hit Points gained per level and also i think it improves medikit healing(unconfirmed)
Charisma: Benefits trader Prices and a small boost on Leadership, what ncreases Combat initative (i think more charisma makes you turn first when entering combat)
Perception: Increases Ranged Weapon Damage, Range of these Weapons, Critical Hit chance and see things that are hidden(?)
Intelligence: Increasses youre rate of skill level ups , your turn oder in combat and psy abilities which will be later added in future updates.

i mostly go from an 40 – 50 int char first and later put the other stats higher. but thats just my opinion

Enemies and how to fight them

Here a Descriptions of Current Enemies ingame v0.90
Phages: Mostly Melee Enemies, some can use weapons, mostly those are 2 star enemies ,
that carry heavy weapons. so take these out first.
Enemies can come in i think 3 star qualities which you can see if you hover over them and see the orange balls before their names.Mostly Phages use melee attacks(up to 4 hits, attacking often your main character, so keep an backup healer nearby). Also some of them can use a vomit attack, which does moderate damage and adds an poison effect on the target

Scavengers and Svavenger Dogs:
Svavengers are Humanoids with Weapons that mostly use ranged attacks. They earn their living by plunder wreckage and abandoned ships, like new age pirates of some sorts
Their dogs move into melee range and bite you, best way to deal with them are flamethrowers or shotguns or close range weapons. but if i were you i would take out the guys with weapons first if you can.

Mutants:
Mutants are capable of Melee attacks and also Ranged attacks, only exception are Slice Mutants, which can only ue Melee attacks

Varadyne Soldiers
Varadyne Soldiers are Humans that mostly use Ranged Weapons

Shikaru Solddiers
Shikaru Soldiers are Humans that use mostly Melee attacks, but some of them also using Range weapons.

Spiders
Encountered in the Ruins after the Dauntless,
Have good Hp, are mainly melee enemies which have an poison attack, kill it with fire xD

Combat Effects

When you are in Combat some effects can happen to you:

Stunned:
Stuns the target up to three rounds making it unable to do anything. (note: Bosses have an increased Stun resistance), Mostly happens from Stun grenades

Poisoned:
if someone gets Poisoned they get poison damage every time when its their order to turn for 3 rounds. Mostly comes from poison attacks from phages and spiders or poison grenades if you accidentally run into de area of poison effect

Hobbled:
If an Enemy or Character gets inflckted by the Hobbled status from combat, the Ap Cost for movement iss Doubled, it lasts mostly for one turn but can be longer too. Mostly inflicted by attacks to the legs

Crippled
If an Character gets inflicted by the Crippled status, all ap cost for attacks, medi kit uses and grenades are doubled. thiss is mostly inflicted by attack to the arms, and it caan be quite useful of limiting enemys attacks. an crippled heavy weapons user can not fire at all, because it would cost 14 AP , which exceeds the maximum storagable aps by 4

Hacking

Once you get an Hacking tool, you can hack locked Doors, Chests, Lockers etc. to get the loot in it
Manually hacking is more effective than sing the auto mode, it wont work on anything xD

Loot tip: if you happen to encounter an chest with 5 or 6 digits i would save the game before hacking, because some of them have legendaries or epic loot inside. why saving you ask?
If you dont like the loot in it load your save and hack it again. there will be other loot in it. even legendaries. Story chests have every time the same combination, like the one on the Captains Cabin. or that one in the ruins
