Class Guide: Herald of Xotli

Overview

All about the HoX class, i will try to give you infos tricks tactics of this unique class what i know. Hope it will help some players.First of all, everyone play different so if i write something that’s not sure that will good for everyone, everyone have to find his/her own playstyle.

How to feat your HoX

When you make your build you have to count the hox have CLOTH gear and it’s close range class, but got much slower combos than assassins.
Avatar and Possession, the 2 class specify feat tables of HoX.
Avatar is mostly melee, possession is mostly mage feats.

I try to describe a few very important
At the first points you can’t choose, because Hellfire(on possession) is the most important feat of hoxes. It makes your hellfire breath instant.

Possesion
• Demonic link – I think it’s always worth that 3 points. gives bonus magic dmg, after used Desecrating Essence or Avatar of Xotli spells.
• Spell – Flame Lash – Ranged Attack spell. Very good if your enemy is running, or in CC. Hits hard, but 2,5sec cast time so you have to choose the moment wise when you want to use it. If you hit with melee you can stack a buff on yourself what makes the dmg of it harder. More featpoints increase the chance of stacking that buff. This spell worth atleast 1point, but only 1 for pvp.
• Roots of Hell – 3points gives 50% Knockback resistance when you using Avatar of Xotli or Desecrating Essence.
• Glorius Exulation of Xotli – Exulation of Xotli gives you +90%Weapon dmg for 10s then -20%for 15s
• Horrible Visage of Xotli – Very important feat! Augments Avatar of Xotli or Desecrating Essence to stun enemies within 6m for 6sec.
• Spell – Chains of Anguish – High dmg dot for 8s. with 3points on Clarity of the Mad it gives you 100% fear resistance for that 8s.(blue effect on your arm will indicate your immunity)

• Combo – Fire Lance : A medium speed combo with high fire dmg.
  General
• Spell – Purge : Anti Root and Snare. it can save your life many many times in pvp.

And finnaly a few example:
Avatar+Possession and Possession+general(easier for pvp)

How to PvP as HoX?

As cloth and squishy class you have to try to elude every hits because the 2nd hit easily can be the last!
This guide is not about the build, but there is some important feats points what can gives some advantage or can save your life in pvp.
Also if anyone CC you and you can’t get out of it you are dead so i very recommend to feat to Purge on general and fill Ethernal Escape spell on AA table.
Another very important feat: Horrible Visage of Xotli it’s absolutely necessary it gives you a AOE stun.
Thundering Flames with this feat if you cast hellfire breath to anyone that will interrupt the combo/spell of your opponent.
Chains of Anguish+Clarity of the Mad: if you feated both it will gives you 8s fear immunity after you used the spell.

Can’t tell you a general tactic what can you use against everyone, but if you know you enemy that gives you huge advantage.

Assasin
If they are around 10-15m they will start with From the Darkness, it’s charge + root, so if you see that or even see your char stop in run, immediately use purge!
If they are close they will start with Snap kick (Knockback) or Grim Corruption. Dont matter with what they use at first but always elude the first 2 combo. Both will deadly if hit you!
You can see the castbar of your enemy, but if you can’t or couldn’t than check your debuffbar all the time.
If you see this icons on yourself than go far away from the sin, coz he will kill you:
Grimm Corruption; Detonation

Slowdeath Strike; Dart

If you see only the first one on yourself then you are not in a huge trouble, but be ready to run or CC because if he can put the next to you that will hurts.
The assasin have to be close to you to can put detonation to you but not for dart!

The next thing you have to watch always is the buffs of your opponent for that you need to have custom UI, or enable this function somehow:
Lotus Overload:
They can get this buff very often(after crits or heals). With this buff they have 90%immunity. it means you can’t cc him or use hellfire and other spells on him. But combos still hurt it so pillars still usable!
Dull Pain:
It gives them 95% magic prot, so the best what can you do is kiting, because most of your combos/spells does Fire dmg and wont hurt the sin with this buff!

Necromancer:
They are free prey for Pos+gen HoXes!
If you charge them they will use Unimaginable Terror(AoE fear), but it will don’t affect you if you are faster and used Chains of Anguish before they could cast it!
At this time you have time to dps or use a CC.
The best if you use root at first, and dps from rear.
They still have 2 CCs Freeze(stun) and something root. You can get out of both: purge for root Ethernal Escape for stun.
If they looks ugly they have alot resistance to fear so if they are then don’t use fear just root or stun.
They using cloth so will not be hard to dps down them if they got a CC.

Soldiers/BS:
I recommend avatar build against this classes with that you can make more impressive dmg on them. They are hard so most of times you have to use bubble too!
Guardian Spells:
Looks like a green aura around the guardian it’s invulnerability and stun root snare resistance so just RUN!
Overhelming Shout – looks like the guardian rasing his hands. It’s fear on front and stun around.
You can run out of it or run to better position(If you have reisitance to any of them).
