Awesomenauts – the 2D moba Guide

Clunk is OP for Awesomenauts

Clunk is OP

Overview

Hi, My name is Jelly, and this is my guide to clunk!

Clunk all around

So clunk is a character that is unlocked at level 4,
so this guide is pretty much for anybody.
Clunk is a burst tank (assassin) that is best in teamfights.
He ganks lanes really easy but only after a level 13.
If you like bursty high aoe damage never die swag guide to a char this is for you!!!

Clunk upgrades & explanation

So clunk is built as a auto attack char or as burst.
I personally like burst clunk better because all around you can get triple kills in teamfights.
This is the build I use:
And this is the upgrade order:
I take solar tree because clunk needs to get to level 13 ASAP.
I take bite 1st because clunk takes allot of damage and you can get the HP back.
So you want to be possibly level 7 when you back the 1st time but if you can’t get at least half way threw level 5 and back.
If you back at level 7, you do this:
If you do half way level 5, you do this:
After that back you should be ready to do damage and/or survive lane easier and make lanes scared because of your raw burst.
At level 13 you take these upgrades:
Because you build the gank clunk who ganks all the time and gets leads.
After getting a few kills you should be around level 21 when you buy Multihose,Titanium Hard Hat and The Suckanator Power 9000 Cleaner you should be ready to wreck faces and not die.
The missiles are more for pushing for me, but you use the set up you want, but I found this one the best with this order.
And all that is left is the pills so That is it for the upgrades, Let’s move on!

Early game (hardest part)

So clunk sucks early game until level 13..
This is why we back 2 times as clunk, to get as soon to early game.
On Ribbit IV you stay solo in the bot lane because when you get to early game you can gank top lane where usually there are 2 players and get a huge lead.
On AI Station 404 you try to stay above your opponents and you try to farm the creaps down and the critters up.
On Sorona you just need to stay in the middle bit, and farm both lanes, nothing unusual.
Ehh, Aiguillon is a map where you just need to find where you want to lane. I like to push with the team and farm the bottom lane where I am solo.
As I have mentioned early game you should farm till half way level 5 or level 8 where you get your zoning damage upgrades.
Level 5:
Level 8:
You should try to not play aggresive if you don’t see a kill but if you do risk it and kill them. Play as safe as possible and try to stay as high on EXP as you can.
You should be able to stay full HP until level 13. At level 13 try to kill something or push turret before you go to base.
When you go to base you buy these items:
When you get these items, you walk around killing enemies and then the mid game happens!
Moving onnnn…

The Mid game!

In the mid game clunk makes most of his kills and shows that he is the top swag on both teams.
Before the enemies get tankier and more damage absorbing you should kill them. If you get a big lead you should continue to kill them and/or try splitpushing.
There is nothing special to the mid game, continue killing, but if too aggresive you should play safer and stick with the team-

The late game! (HYPE!!!)

So pretty much late game stick with team and don’t leave them.
They will prove a vital part of winning the game.
Since everybody is tanky on their team you should stick with the team,
try to gank with the team and get excellent kills that win the games for you.
I usually have voice communication with my team so it is easy to make picks (picks are killing a person away from their team).

Nauts that work with clunk

So by far the best naut that works with Clunk is
Sentry X-58
Sentry X.58 works the best with Clunk because you can make double explosion and wreck faces. Sentry should get a big charge and make them gather and shoot it when clunk is there for an easy kill.

Another great naut that works great with clunk is
Leon
Leon works well because he can pull people into explosion and set up free kills.
Leon should take silence on tounge and set up free kills!

One of the most risky naut with clunk is
Skoll
Because the throw can put enemies in explosions but the explosion can miss the skoll can miss the throw, the skoll can over throw and/or the enemy can escape after the throw.

Nauts that counter clunk & playstyle against them

The biggest clunk counters are nauts that do high single damage and that have a small hitbox.
Those are Leon with his high burst he can assassinate and kill clunk but clunk can kill him too.
Another clunk counter is froggy, with his high burst froggy can slay clunk pretty fast.
Lonestar can bull clunk away while he is exploding and can burst him.
Skolldir too because he can throw clunk into turret and lock him up and clunk hasn’t got any escape ability.
You should play very protective against high burst targets and high damage enemies.
You should take the easy routes with no risk instead of the risky paths for faster times and easy kills.
A kill isn’t worth loosing a turret as clunk and when pushing turret as clunk and you have max upgraded explosion, explode when the turret is under 2 bars because you may slay an enemy and keep pushing if your explosion is up.
