I had some problems with game on my PC. I dont have xbox or ps controller, i have Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2. And i had very big problem: my buttons were swapped (A is B and X is Y). I have tried to use famous x360ce[code.google.com] but without any luck.
But thanks to Torach. As he wrote here, to fix problems with controller:
Make sure you have the latest libraries for xboxce
[link]Set up your controller how you want, then close xboxce.
Open the xboxce.ini in notepad and change the InputHook section to look like this
HookLL=0
HookCOM=1
HookSA=0
HookWT=0
HookDI=0
HookPIDVID=0
HookName=0
What happens is deadpool defaults to the directinput from the controller instead of the xinput from xboxce, which is why it has no effect, the above mask mode replaces the directinput.
