Overview

Just a Short Guide Covering the Basics of Coop Animals

Chickens

About Chickens

Chickens are animals that you can buy from Marnie for 800g (or you could hatch them from Eggs in an Incubator), they will show up in your Coop effective immediately after purchase and you will be given the prompt to name them – you can rename them at a later date.

Chickens can be White, Brown, or Blue (a blue chicken can be obtained only after seeing Shane’s 8-heart event). The colour of your chicken is randomised upon purchase or hatching. White and blue chickens produce white eggs, and brown chickens produce brown eggs; this is important for completing the Community Center Bundles.

Caring for your Chickens

Hatchlings or newly-purchased chickens don’t need to be fed on the same day that they arrive on the farm, although they respond as normal to petting. After this, both chicks and adult chickens need to be fed (baby chickens will mature by the third day when fed daily). For every day you feed an adult chicken, they will lay an egg for you to collect or incubate the following morning.

Chickens eat hay, which you can get from Marnie or harvest from grass. If there is grass in the yard outside the coop, they will eat the grass rather than hay, and receive a mood boost too! They won’t do this in Winter (because there is no grass), and during that season they won’t go outside even if the doors remain open.

Produce from Chickens

Chickens produce an Egg or a Brown Egg every morning, these sell for 50g. Once sufficient friendship and happiness is reached, a chicken can produce a Large Egg or Large Brown Egg which sells for 95g.

Eggs can be placed in the Mayonnaise Machine to produce Mayonnaise, which sells for 190g.

Blue Chickens

After Shane’s 8-heart event, every chicken you buy from Marnie or hatch from a brown or white egg has a 1/4 chance of being blue. Other than their appearance, blue chickens are identical to regular white and brown chickens.

Blue chickens are hatched as blue chicks. If you’re purchasing a chicken, you can cancel the purchase and immediately purchase another chick until achieving the colour you want. If you’re hatching an egg from an incubator, you can exit and restart that day until achieving the colour of chicken that you want.

Blue chickens may also be a reference to “Cojiro”, a similar blue cucco from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Void Chickens

Void Chickens come from placing a Void Egg in an Incubator; these are obtained through a random event where a witch will pass over the coop as you sleep and leave a Void Egg inside. It can also be found in the Travelling Cart in Cindersap Forest or from Krobus in the sewers.

The Void Chicken takes 6 days to mature after hatching (3 if you have the Coopmaster Profession).

Selling your Chickens

You can sell your Chicken if you so desire. The amount of gold that you get for selling is dependent on how many hearts the animal has. The more hearts; the higher amount of gold you’ll get for selling it. A maximum-heart Chicken can be sold for 1,040g.

Ducks

About Ducks

You can purchase a Duck from Marnie’s Ranch for 4,000g when you have upgraded your Coop to the Big Coop. In-Game, the fermale ducks that lay eggs have green heads, when in reality, male Mallard ducks have the characteristic green heads. while the females are brown.

Produce from Ducks

Ducks lay eggs every two days, these can be put in an incubator to hatch another duck or they can be sold for 95g. Once you reach one friendship heart with a duck, there is a chance that they will produce a Duck Feather, which you can sell for 125g.

Mayonnaise from a Duck Egg can be sold for 375g.

Selling your Ducks

You can sell your Ducks, just as you can sell your Chickens. Once again, the amount of gold you recieve for selling a Duck is dependant on the friendship level (number of hearts). If you sell a maximum heart Duck, you can fetch 5,200g. While a newborn Baby Duck with no hearts can be sold for 1,260g.

Rabbits

About Rabbits

You can purchase Rabbits from Marnie’s Ranch for 8,000g when you’ve upgraded to the Deluxe Coop. Rabbits are the only raisable animal that cannot reproduce. When you pet your Rabbit, it makes an almost inaudible soft sniffing sound.

Produce from Rabbits

Every 4th morning, a mature Rabbit will likely produce Wool, which you can sell for 340g. You don’t have to shear you Rabbits, they’ll drop it on their own. As you build friendship with your Rabbit, there is a chance for it to produce Rabbit’s Foot, which you cal sell for 565g.

Rabbits that are fed every day will mature on the sixth morning after it’s purchase and that is the first morning that there is a chance for it to drop Wool in the Coop.

Selling your Rabbits

You can sell your Rabbits, like any other animal. Again the price is dependant on your friendship with the Rabbit. A maximum heart Rabbit can be sold for 10,400g.

Dinosaurs

About Dinosaurs

Your Dinosaur will produce a Dinosaur Egg every 7 days. These eggs can either be hatched into more Dinosaurs or sold for 350g.

Selling your Dinosaurs

It is possible for you to sell your Dinosaur. A higher friendship level equals more dosh for you. You can sell a maximum heart Dinosaur for 1,278g.
