Airships: Conquer the Skies Guide

Creating your own ship pack for Airships: Conquer the Skies

Creating your own ship pack

Overview

A concise and quick guide to show you how to create your own ship pack from scratch.

Introduction

Welcome! In this very concise guide, I will show you how to create your very own airship pack from scratch and how to upload it to the workshop!

Creating the files

Fairly simple this step. Create your base file and name it appropriately.

Inside this folder, you will need to create some more folders and 2 data files.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Use ONLY the folders you wish to use from the shown list. If you are making a mod to add airships to the player, only the “playerships” folder is needed. Alternatively, if you were to add airships, landships and buildings for the AI, then you would use the “ships”, “landships” and “buildings” folders respectively.

The file contents

info.JSON

In this file you will need to specify your unique ID for the mod, it’s name in game and a short description for the file. The ID is the name of the master folder that you put everything into.

logo.PNG

This file is your image for the file and what it will be shown as in game and on the workshop.
The file must be of 512×512 size and in .PNG format.

Creating your ships

The next step is to create and add your ships into the folders you are using. Skip this segment if you already have all your ships ready.

Go into your airships game and make a ship. Anything you like, Go nuts.

Next, save your ship and name appropriately.

Simple as that!

Adding your ships

To do this, you will go to your “AppData” folder (Can be reached by typing %APPDATA% into the Windows search bar) and going to your AirshipsGame file and to the folder type respective to the construct you made.

Here he is!

Finally, you will want to copy (or cut) your file(s) from this location into your folder you just created for your collection.

Uploading your collection

The final stage is to upload your mod to the workshop to share for everyone to see. Simply put, load up your Airships CTS game and navigate to the mods menu. (Settings & Info > Mods)

From here, you want to click “Install Mod” at the top right of the screen and a pop-up will open asking you which file to add

Navigate to wherever you saved the mod and you will see it has a yellow box with a cross on it. Select the folder and add install it.

Now, if you check your airship design tabs it will show you will now have the ship ready to be deployed. However, in this state, you cannot edit the ship unless you copy it from the mod directory and add it back in to your roster.

The final step is to publish the mod to steam from the mod page and let everyone enjoy your creation!
Have fun!
