Overview
►How to set up custom music and custom sounds◄In this guide I will show you how to use your custom music for the levels, main menu and endings and how to set up your customs sounds like “Game Over” or “Pentagon”.
Set up custom music:
IMPORTANT: Backup everything you modify, so your have the origninal data if something went wrong!
The first step to sep up custom music is easy.
You have to make your way to the “Super Hexagon” folder in your steam data and then open the “data” -> “music” folder.
Now you need your custom music as mp3 or ogg.
If you enabled to see the endings you can just rename your mp3 or ogg file to one of the music parts and .dat at the end.
If now you can change the ending in the properties and then rename it after your changed the ending to “.dat”
Here is is list for what is what:
music0.dat -> main menu (standard much of nothing)
music1.dat -> Level 1/4 (Hexagon)
music2.dat -> level 2/5 (Hexagoner)
music3.dat -> level 3/6 (Hexagonest)
music4.dat -> “level7” (The black-hole part)
music5.dat -> The End music
Thats it. Now you have your custom music. Have fun with it 🙂
Set up custom sounds:
IMPORTANT: Backup everything you modify! If something went wrong you need them.
This part is easyer compared to the first one.
You have to get to the Super Hexagon folder again. Now open the “date” and then the “sounds” folder.
There should be now some mp3´s named with the things they say. For example “game over” or “begin”. (By the way. If you hate this “game over” and “begin” thing you can just delete the mp3´s of it and you got rid of them)
The only thing you have to do now is: Rename your mp3 with your sound you want to use. Change the old mp3 with your new one and have fun with your new sounds 🙂
