Dead rising 2 how to make your controller work

Overview

Dead rising 2 the annoying issue where controllers don’t work. I am putting together a guide to hopefully solve your issue. I finally made it work so hopefully it’s as easy for you as it was me.

Dead rising 2 the battle of the controller psychopath.

If you don’t have xbox 360 controller you might want to skip to part 5 where you can configure your control settings. If not you might want to try this guide all the way through just to see if it works.
Step one go to this website and download this program [link]
Step two go to dead rising 2 and right click in it in steam. Go to properties, local files, browse local files.
You are going to need to get winrar or 7zip to extract the file into the folder. I prefer winrar [link] click download if you are 64 bit operating system. Go to click here for 32 bit if you are 32 bit operating system.
if you aren’t sure about operating system you need to go to control panel in windows. On right side click view by change it to small or large icons. click system and it will tell you if you are 64 or 32 bit.
Extract it into dead rising 2 folder you can either drag and drop in winrar or extract to same file location.
step three run x360ce.exe and click yes to everything.
Step four on the bottom of the screen click present change it to xbox 360 wireless receiver and click load. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have wireless controller you can have a wired one it works just fine.
Go to the advance tab. Make sure native mode and enable force feedback are not checked. Turn them off. Last part in this program go to options change fake WMI and EnabledUsb
Go to Fake DI EnabledCallback and click save on the bottom.
Now launch dead rising 2 make sure this program is running in the background when you play it. I recommend creating a file shortcut on your desktop. Right click the x360ce.exe create shortcut and move it to the place you want on your pc.
Step 5 go to options menu in dead rising 2. Go to pc settings and enable controller. It will be working as long as you have xbox 360 controller. It worked fine for me and I wanted to make this guide for those people. If you are using other types of controllers you can try this if this doesn’t work go to big picture mode. It’s on the top right of steam. go to your library and find dead rising 2. go to manage game. Controller configuration if you get an error you haven’t configure your control configure in the settings of big picture mode. That is in the settings and controller setting enable the controller. Use of the community create controller settings so you don’t have to waste your time do it yourself. This guide was made because I see how many people have this issue. I can’t confirm if you can use other controllers other than xbox 360 controller because that is what I used. Enjoy this game and I hope this helps you. It’s a lot of information and I will have some picture attached to help for the program.
Edit after doing more research I found out the number one problem in this control setup. You need to turn off your controller settings on big picture mode. Turn off xbox controller setting uncheck it. You can have the button brings you to big picture mode, but that is it. Turn off controller settings in big picture and it will see your controller. I am not sure if steam control default stuff overrides the game issues. I hope that this tutorial solves your issue please leave comment and I will be happy to help. This game is amazing and control support is nice to have.
