[Deemo & Cytus Update] Complete Collection & Achievements Guide

Overview

This guide covers how Music, Plates, Gear & Note Skins, Gallery, Music Videos and Comments are unlocked and methods to unlock them easier. Steam achievements and unlocking them is also covered. Visuals of all the plates, gear and notes are included.

Music Unlocks

All non-DLC songs are unlocked from leveling. Including songs locked behind achievements. You will get exp for Auto-Play in Air Mode, about 1/4 of the full amount. Auto-Play off and breaking all notes does not give more exp. Air Mode does not appear to reward exp at all after level 99. You will also get exp from Freestyle, Mission, Open Match (including observer mode) and Ladder Match. If under level 99 and you don’t want to grind for songs, use Auto-Play in Air Mode.

Level for Music Unlocks

Collection Achievements and Grinding

Clearing the shortest songs is the fastest way to grind most achievements if you are behind on some

• Funky Chups (1:32)
• Bullet Wanted! (1:35)
• Para-Q (1:35)
• Boom! (1:37)
• Ya! Party! (1:39)

However focus on Max Combo first because you can’t repeat patterns. So you need to Max Combo 500 unique patterns. You will get most other achievements while going for 500 Max Combo. For Fever Activated and Freestyle combo you want a high combo song. “Always” is an easy song for this. 6B Hard gives over 8800 combo, 4B Hard over 5700 combo. You can sit in Air Mode Auto-Play to grind some achievements. Here is a table of what game modes can count towards some achievements.

Grinded Achievement Modes

• If the mode tracks Play Count, it will also count towards song clears for gallery & plates for that specific song.
• If the mode tracks Max Combo, you will unlock music videos.
• All modes give exp, Air Mode Auto-Play about 1/4 of what you would get for playing. Air Mode will give no exp over level 99.
• Songs have to be cleared to get the achievement progress.
• Playing a song from a DLC you don’t own will cause nothing to be tracked

Targeted Achievements

Freestyle Combo 999,999
I suggest combining this achievement with plate collection. Further down in the guide under “Song Clear Only Plates” are all the plates unlocked only through song clears. Play through the songs on those lists to get plates while getting the combo. Do different patterns of the songs to also count towards Max Combo achievement. You can also grind “Always”, 6B Hard gives over 8800 combo, 4B Hard over 5700 combo. It is an easy song to replay while having a high combo.

This takes several hours and hundreds of song plays of only max combos. If you miss a note, you can restart the song and keep your combo. You can exit a song if you restart and then hit music select. If you forget, a popup will appear saying “Reset combo career” if you are not at the beginning of the song. Press “No”, restart the song, exit song through music select again. If you fail a song, hard close the game by closing the window or using task manager. Hopefully the game did not save and you kept your combo. To take a break from max combos you can turn off “Freestyle Combo Chain” in settings. This will save and pause your combo. So you can play songs freely.

Maximum Max Combo 10,000
You need a 10,000 combo in a single song. Here is a list of some songs that will give over 10,000 combo. 6B HD Ghost Voices likely being the easiest

Plates

Unlocked through achievements, missions, and clearing a song the specified number of times. Any difficulty and buttons, repeating patterns counts towards plate. A walkthrough to getting all plates efficiently is below this section. Further below are lists of all plates and how to unlock them as well as plate previews. Total plates and order in your collection will change depending on DLCs. You will not see plates you are unable to unlock or have not purchased.

Getting All Plates

Very difficult challenge due to some plates only being unlocked through missions and achievements. Impossible for many because almost all missions in the Respect mission pack have to be cleared to get all plates. Here is a list of the most challenging plates and the reason.

Challenging Plates

The most efficient way to way to collect all plates is to play through missions first before getting plates through song clears because mission clears will unlock plates that could also be unlocked through song clears. The final mission of each of the 10 mission sets in the Respect mission pack unlocks a mission only plate (can’t be unlocked through song clears or achievements) so every mission will need to be cleared to get every plate. The only other pack that has mission only plates is V Extension however only the first four missions of the mission pack {1-1} {1-2} {1-3} {1-4} unlock mission only plates. Any other missions do not have to be cleared to unlock all plates except for 50 in total for NB RED plate, however clearing other missions will speed up plate collection and some galleries are also locked behind missions.

After all passable missions have been cleared go for the 999,999 combo plate [#85 DJMAX Tournament 2017 Clear]. (Look at “Freestyle Combo 999,999” higher in the guide for assistance) while you acquire plates that are song clears only, listed directly below here. As well as going for plates unlocked through missions or song clears where the mission could or was not completed so song clears will be used to unlock. Order for plates unlocked through missions or song clears listed below this section of the guide as “Mission or Song Clear Plates”. Combine the lists to know what plates you still need to unlock through song clears. Do different patterns of the songs to also count towards 500 Max Combos achievement as repeating patterns does not count.

Other achievement plates can be kept in mind while playing through song clear plates, ignored for now and unlocked naturally through playing or grinded. Achievement grinding listed further up in “Collection Achievements and Grinding”

Gear and Note Skins

Gear and Note Skins all come from achievements or Gear Pack DLCs. How to grind for achievements is explained further up in “Collection Achievements and Grinding”. Total Gear and Note Skins in your collection will change depending on DLCs. You will not see Gear or Note Skins you are unable to unlock or have not purchased.

Music Videos (BGA)

Music Videos are unlocked by getting a Max Combo or Perfect Clear on a song with any buttons and difficulty. Every song has a Music Video. There are also 8 hidden Music Videos (BGAs) and 2 bonus. You will be able to clearly see you are playing the hidden Music Video by the first note. They have a 1/10 chance of appearing when you load the song from music select. Restarting will not change the video, you have to back out to music select and start the song again for another chance at the hidden video. You have to Max Combo or Perfect Clear, if you fail you can restart and not change from the hidden Music Video.

Comments

Comments are all unlocked through achievements except for the starter comment “Hello”. There are 100 comments in total. All are available to be collected in the base game. How to grind for achievements is explained further up in “Collection Achievements and Grinding”.

Gallery

Galleries are unlocked by clearing songs, achievements, and missions. Any difficulty and buttons, repeating patterns counts towards gallery. How to grind for achievements is explained further up in “Collection Achievements and Grinding”.

• Gallery (2) is unlocked from 3 Clears.
• Gallery (3) is unlocked from 5 Clears.
• Gallery (4), (5), (6), and (7) are from achievements unless otherwise stated by *✔* and explained at the bottom of the table.

Galleries are ordered by position they appear in the collection. Generally the collection is ordered by pack however a couple songs do not have their galleries in their pack section and will be noted at the bottom of the table.

Total Galleries and order in your collection will change depending on DLCs. You will not see Galleries you are unable to unlock.

Steam Achievements

Most achievements on Steam are based on Collection achievements so “Collection Achievements and Grinding” applies to them. I will go over the ones you would generally need to target to unlock as well as the hidden achievements.

Succeeding You Father
If you are the host in an open match, you can pass host by pressing F11. You can also pass host to yourself to get the achievement.

JUST 100%
Pick an easy song and Perfect Play it. I had the most luck on HeartBeat. If you are having a hard time you may need to adjust “Note Output Time” in settings because your game is slightly out of sync due to display and/or audio latency issues.

THE LORD OF COMBO
Get a combo of 999,999. Explained higher up in “Collection Achievements and Grinding” under “Freestyle Combo 999,999”

Perfect Perfectionist
Total score of 300,000,000. You can repeat patterns. Clearing the shortest songs is the fastest way to grind.

Rift Rivals
Scored draw in Ladder Match. Random luck without help from another person. If you have a person to help try to match at the same time to play against each other. Then both sides hit one note at MAX 100% and break the rest of the song (MAX 100% is easiest to both hit, any accuracy will do). You will get the achievement. Hit the note close to the start of the song before your health drains all the way down because once your health is drained you need to hit multiple notes for score to count again. 0 score draw will not give the achievement so you have to hit a note. Any score draw above 0 will give the achievement.

It’s Party Time
Full room needs to Max Combo. Does not have to be same buttons or difficulty. Title the lobby “It’s Party Time” and tell people what you are going for.

Happy Lucky Day (Hidden)
Score a combo of 777 on a song. Two examples:

• Seeker 5B Normal, turn off fever, hit 47 combo, break, then Max Combo the rest of the song.
• Seeker 4B Hard, turn off fever, hit 45 combo, break, then Max Combo the rest of the song.

Archeologist (Hidden)
Found a hidden BGA for the first time.

Save in My Heart (Hidden)
Found all 6 hidden Music Videos (BGA) in base game.
