Walls, Walls, and More
If you’re playing on Team Islands, one of the best strategies I’ve ever done is to use Britian and build a giant wall around every square inch of the island while your friend/ally builds up forces. Have a few ship yards around each corner of your island so you and your ally can expand or attack the enemy. Just make sure the opposing team can’t land anywhere on your island (thanks to your handy dandy wall).
This especially works when playing against the AI as the AI boats will be clueless on how to enter the area. They can still bust through your wall though so go ahead and outline the wall with bombard towers, leaving a space open between each one so you can fight off this strategies worst enemy: the bombardment ship. Simply place strategicly placed trebuchets. That’ll show ’em!
