Desperados III – DLC Badges Guide

Overview

How to earn the badges in the Money for the Vultures DLC

Part 1 – Late to the Party

  • Don’t meet up with Cooper: Cooper is hiding in a bush near the top of the map. Avoid going near it, otherwise you’ll meet up and it will fail the badge
  • Bring Rosie a present: Knock out one of the two women with disguises for Kate, and bring her to Rosie with Hector. A short cutscene will also play out
  • Don’t use a disguise: Pretty self-explanatory.
  • Hide in 5 different cupboards: All the cupboards are near the safe towards the end of the level
  • Take the left path: Take the left path near the beginning of the map
  • Take the right path: Take the right path, also near the beginning of the map. You cannot earn this badge and the previous one in the same playthrough.
  • Complete the mission on Hard difficulty: Obviously Desperado also counts
  • Speedrun: Complete the mission in under 30:00 minutes: Note that this is real time. You can fast forward using “x” without it counting against you, and loading does NOT reset the timer.

Part 2 – Five Steps Ahead

  • Get all map pieces before confronting DeVitt: There are four pieces of the map being held by guards across the map. Knock them out or kill them to recover the map pieces.

  • Don’t use the left or the right side entrance: This means you must go through the main gate. You can use a body lure and Hector’s shotgun to clear the enemies guarding the gate.

Be careful after you get in, because going near the left or right entrances will fail the badge.

  • Don’t touch any bushes or haystacks: This means not touching any of them, period. Even accidentally walking past one will fail the badge, so I recommend micromanaging your characters’ movements so they don’t accidentally walk into a bush. It’s also a good idea to check the objectives and go back to a save point if you do fail the badge.

You can still use Hector to toss bodies into the bushes to hide them

  • Don’t touch water: Pretty self explanatory. Luckily it’s pretty hard to accidentally get into the water on this level.
  • Don’t kill or knock out Long Coats: Sneak past as many of them as you can. You’ll need to use Kate’s pickpocketing ability to steal the mansion’s keys from a Long Coat, and also one of the pieces of the map from another Long Coat

  • Kill Magnus DeVitt: Each character also has a different one-liner after they do the deed
  • Complete the mission on Hard difficulty
  • Speedrun: Complete the mission in under 30:00 minutes: See speedrun notes in the first part of the guide

Part 3 – Once More with Feeling

  • Don’t rescue Kate or Isabelle: Pretty self-explanatory. I recommend going through the village (left) with Hector if you’re doing this one.
  • Don’t use the Gatling gun: There’s Gatling gun near the end of the level. Don’t use it.
  • Free Doc before entering the Village or the Camp: What this really means is, you’ll need to sneak in using Cooper (see next badge), and free McCoy on your own since Hector can’t make it to the fortress without entering the Village or the Camp.

This is possible on all difficulties, but you’ll need to hit some tight timings if you’re playing on Desperado

  • Take the secret passage into the fortress: Climb the vines on the right side of the walls with Cooper

  • Free Kate: Kate is in the village on the left side of the map, near the beginning
  • Free Isabelle: Isabelle is in the camp on the right side of the map, near the beginning
  • Complete the mission on Hard difficulty
  • Speedrun: Complete the mission in under 30:00 minutes: See speedrun notes in the first part of the guide
