Detailed guide about Trailer Park Boys: Greasy Money

Overview

Actual guide, not like the other joke one… The guide covers how to play, tips, info. It contains spoilers.I proofread the guide but let me know if you see any typos.

Introduction and info

The game has a good tutorial so I am not going to explain the basics. I will just mention that if you want to get cash from a business without collecting it manually you will need to automate that business by leveling up a character to a certain level. The game will let you know which character and which level.

Main park is the base non event park. I will mention it few times in the guide.

When you reach the max season you can go to a season XX. You can read more about it here.

You will see this red circle and a white exclamation mark on some of my screenshots. That appears when you have enough cash, hash coins, liquor to upgrade a character/business to
󠀡󠀡     next level or to buy a trunk, or to open a business, etc.

You will see a similar icon on one of my character screenshots below. It indicates how many costumes a character has.
Note: Some characters don’t have any costumes while others have 1 or more costumes.

This is located in the lower left corner. If you click on that timer you can get up to 12 hours of double profits. Make sure to have that enabled all the time.

If you see a character having this as icon it means it either increases profits of all businesses or increases time for all businesses so each business reaches the cash they produce faster. There are not many
󠀡󠀡     󠀡󠀡  󠀡󠀡     󠀡󠀡        󠀡󠀡    characters who do that and they have epic rarity.

This is the TV crew which appears every 2-3 mins or so. You can get from 1 to 5 liquor by clicking on them. The light goes green and then almost disappears. If you clicked when the light was the greenest you will get 5 liquor then. You might need to click a bit earlier as it changes from no light to green really fast.

When you do enough tasks you will get an option to complete the season.

Cards

There are 3 types of card rarity: common, rare and epic.
You need cards to upgrade bisnesses (those are always common). Character cards depend on the character itself. The boys’ cards are Epic.

You can’t buy Epic cards in the shop on the main park. You can only buy such cards on events but they will be for the event itself, not for the main park.

If you buy cards from the shop these are the prices:
Businesses / Common cards start at 5 liquor and increase by 1.
Rare cards start at 15 liquor and increase by 3.
Epic cards start at 50 liquor and increase by 5.

Stacking cards comes in handy so if you want to do that have most of your businesses/characters at a similar level but not all. Say you have 5 businesses at level 5 and 1 at level 3. The game will offer you a lot of cards for the level 3 business. Same goes for characters. So keep this in mind and use it as advantage. Card stacking is essential on events! Seems like it’s not needed on events as it doesn’t affect the drop rates. Here’s a

To Stack or Not To Stack from GreasyMoney

with examples how stacking works.

Trunks

Lahey’s Trunk and Timer trunk

After you do some of the tasks you will have access to Lahey’s Trunk. You can open it every 2 hours. You will get 150 liquor if you open it exactly after 2 hours since the last time you did. It’s best to open it as soon as possible.
On events this trunk is called timer trunk and it’s exactly the same as Lahey’s Trunk but gives you the event currency which replaces liquor.

Daily Trunk and Event Daily Trunk

The daily trunk on the main park (non-event one) can be opened every 24 hours.
Event daily trunks however can be opened every 8 hours since the events usually last for 5 days (120 hours) or so.

Event Trunk

The event trunk is different in every event (it looks different and also contains different stuff) but usually you have a chance to unlock a character so you can stack cards for it which doesn’t affect your game (read stacking section). The event trunk can help you get more rewards if you didn’t start the event on time. The trunk usually costs 99 hash or 100 hash coins.

Bronze Trunk

After you do a task which is usually (fairly) easy you will get a bronze trunk. It doesn’t award you much cash, cards, liquor but it’s better than nothing. Sometimes you get hash coin as well.
Note: Got 1 Bubbles (Epic) card from a bronze trunk once. Not sure if a glitch or I got extremely lucky.

Silver Trunk

Looks like the main park Daily Trunk. It’s usually harder to do the task given to get this trunk (compared to the Bronze trunk but that’s not always the case, especially on events) HOWEVER you get much better rewards: a lot more cards, more liquor and often hash coins.

Gold Trunk

On the main park you can’t get a gold trunk simply by completing tasks (need someone to confirm this as I think I got a gold trunk once). You can buy it from the shop for 70 hash coins. It’s only worth it if you still haven’t gotten these two characters: Willy Goat or Steve French. Both increase your f*ck off multiplier (I’ve explained that in the section below “Characters and costumes”).

Legendary Trunk

Just don’t bother. Too expensive for what it offers. Not worth it at all. You’d be pretty much just wasting your hard earned hash coins…

Police/boss Trunk

When you do a ceratin amount of tasks you will have an option to end the current season and you will fight someone (either a cop or someone who reported you). The higher your multiplier is and the more you click results in more and better rewards. This is the best trunk in my opinion: you can get epic cards, decent amount of hash coins, costume cards, liquor, even Willy Goat or Steve French (if you haven’t gotten them yet). I also got a new costume once (end of S70).

Epic Trunk

I think you get it only when you buy 3 of the 4 DLCs for the game (Orangie one doesn’t give you trunks). From the store page of one of the DLCs: “Get 2 Epic Trunks
– Each trunk includes 6 chances to get Liquor, Cash, Character Cards (Epic, Rare, and Common), and Business Cards.”

Flashback Trunk

This is a new trunk which got added with the Baddest Turkey On The Planet (thanksgiving event) update on 22nd of November 2018. You have a chance to get new costume/character, also epic cards and cash or liquor. The cash is around what you will get in 4 hours. Don’t automate any of the businesses if you want to get liquor. (Need someone to confirm this)

The trunk got removed shortly after it got added… Later the dev said it was a limited thing for black friday. Oh well.

Characters and costumes

There are different types of characters. Let’s take the boys for example:
Bubbles increases the time for all businesses so you get the cash they produce sooner.
Julian increases the profits of all businesses.
Ricky is a f*ck off character. Will explain below.

Other characters increase the profits or increase the time of a particular business.

F*ck off characters

There’s a total of 5 characters which increase the f*ck off multiplier :

Ricky
Cory
Steve French
Willy Goat
Bernie Sanford
One of the boys
Used to automate
businesses
Second best f*ck off
character after Ricky
Has the same
multiplier as Cory
Also increases the
cash multiplier for a
business which you
will unlock later
Epic character
Common character
Rare character
Common character
Common character

Note: Bernie Sanford is unlocked at season 27. You have a chance to get him at season 26 if
you spend hash coins and open gold trunk(s).
P.S. Ignore the levels. Those are my levels at the time of posting the guide.

Costumes

You can get them from events and people also said you can unlock some from police/boss trunks. Each costume is unique and gives different bonus(es). I even have an epic costume for a rare character.
Note: Upgrading a costume doesn’t count towards the upgrade x characters task.

Tips

  1. Automating all businesses isn’t necessary for any season but it’s recommended to do so or at least the ones which give you the most cash.
  2. You can save your liquor, go to next season and when you get a task “spend x liquor” or “upgrade x characters” you can upgrade your characters then so you can automate the season (or most of it) while completing tasks.
  3. Devs aren’t against autoclickers and you wouldn’t want to break your fingers/hand/mouse so better use one or two for the boss fights and also to get cash by clicking on any business.
  4. There is an event every week. Make sure to do all of them if you can. Spend hashcoins if you can get them back as reward or if you can unlock a new character/costume. Don’t forget to get your rewards when the event ends.
  5. Don’t end a season as soon as you can. I am talking about the seasons after 10th or so as the ones before that are super easy. People say there’s no point in rushing.
Note: I tend to rush but only because I complete most of the events and get a lot of liquor.
  6. Be careful what you trade. You might not need some cards now but later you might need them.
  7. Don’t change your computer clock in attempt to cheat as that will just glitch your game and it will going to ask you which game to load (haven’t done this so need confirmation).
  8. Like I said earlier stacking cards is a great strategy for the main park.
  9. This is the reddit page of the game – https://www.reddit.com/r/GreasyMoney/. The pinned post is the current event (note that there are mini events for the mobile version of the game sometimes). In the event post people usually discuss the event, a strategy about it and there’s even an event spreadsheet.
  10. I’d recommend using the season spreasheet which can be found

. Just click on the link in the comment I’ve linked.
Note: Can’t post a direct link as Steam thinks it’s a shady site. In reality it’s a google document.

  11. I also use

Open spreadsheet to share season multipliers from GreasyMoney

(click on the link in the main post; same as above, can’t post direct link). You can see what customer multiplier a certain business gives when you reach
x customers. It’s helpful because on later seasons at certain point your lowest income business might get a x2000 multiplier and suddenly it’s your best business for example.
Note: Click on the tabs on the lower side of the page and select the season you’re currently on. Seems like they have this up to season 80 (which isn’t the max season).

  12. If possible make sure to have the double profits timer running all the time.
  13. If you have say 15/15 cards needed to upgrade a business but have 98 liquor only (you need 100) you can buy the remaining 2 liquor for 0 hash coins. It won’t charge you anything. This only works if you are 1-2 liquor short.
  14. Few hours before the event starts the game will let you know, it will show “Event coming soon”. If you can’t see that close your game and verify integrity of game cache (if the update didn’t start) and launch the game again. Should be all good then.
  15. If you skip time using hash coins you only get the cash from automated businesses for x hours. Keep in mind that time skips don’t affect any of the trunks!
  16. If you have a task to spend x liquor try to do it by buying cards, upgrading costumes or upgrading 1 or max 2 characters/businesses. Later you will have upgrade 4 character tasks so keep a few char at level 1 or 2 so they don’t cost you too much liquor. It might be a good idea to get new characters from events.
