Overview
This guide should assist you in increasing your FPS in-game and overall performance. It also provides a possible fix to a bug that occurs early in-game.
Performance Increase
Some of you may be noticing poor performance in game, regardless of your hardware. Through a few simple steps you can avert these issues.
1: Turn off MSAA, MSAA makes a huge FPS impact, and as of the games release it is making an impact on all hardware.
2: Turn Volumetric Lighting to either On or Off, not Ultra. The difference between Ultra and On and barely noticable, so if you’re not getting the desired FPS then On will make minor visual differences.
3: Turn Contact Hardening Shadows On or Off, not Ultra. This change yields the same results as step 2.
These few steps should heavily alter your performance, and for the better.
Bug Fix
POSSIBLE SPOILER:
If your game crashes during the cutscene when the explosion occurs at the train station, there are a few things you can do to avoid the crash.
1: Set game to windowed.
2: Lower graphic settings.
3: Turn off subtites.
4: Deselecting DLC content from the game’s properties. (In Steam Library.)
5: Turn of V-Sync
I did all five of those things and my game was able to get past the train station cut-scene.
